Turang was scratched from the Brewers' lineup against the White Sox on Wednesday due to an illness.

Isaac Collins will get the start at second base and bat in the leadoff spot while Turang, who has gone 13-for-40 (.325) with three stolen bases, eight runs and five RBI over his last 10 games, will get a day off to recover from the ailment.

Gonsolin (1-0) earned the win in Wednesday's 12-7 victory over the Marlins, allowing three runs on six hits over six innings. He struck out nine.

It was an impressive return to the mound for Gonsolin, who missed the first month of the season with a back injury after missing all of the 2024 campaign while recovering from Tommy John surgery. With Blake Snell (shoulder) and Tyler Glasnow (shoulder) both sidelined, Gonsolin provides much-needed reinforcement to the Dodgers' rotation. The right-hander currently lines up for a rematch with the Marlins on the road in his next outing.

Edman did not play in Wednesday's 12-7 win over the Marlins due to a right ankle injury, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

Edman said after Wednesday's game that he tweaked his right ankle during Tuesday's win against Miami. Edman will have two days of rest heading into the Dodgers' weekend matchup against Atlanta and could be available for Friday's series opener. He is slashing .252/.295/.523 with two stolen bases, 19 runs scored, eight home runs and 24 RBI in 122 plate appearances this season.

The Mets selected Devenski's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Wednesday.

The move corresponds with the Mets placing Danny Young (elbow) on the 15-day injured list and transferring Brooks Raley (elbow) to the 60-day IL. Devenski signed a minor-league contract with the Mets in October, and in nine outings out of Syracuse's bullpen this season he's posted a 1.93 ERA, 0.99 WHIP, two saves and a 7:4 K:BB across 9.1 innings.

The Mets placed Young on the 15-day injured list Wednesday due to a left elbow sprain.

Young has surrendered five runs (four earned) over 8.1 innings this season, but he seems to have come away from his most recent outing Saturday with an elbow injury. He'll now take at least the next couple of weeks to heal. Chris Devenski will come up from Triple-A Syracuse to give the Mets a fresh arm in the bullpen.

Grichuk will serve as Arizona's designated hitter and No. 3 batter in Wednesday's game against the Mets.

Grichuk has essentially served as a pure short-side platoon player for Arizona this season, logging 35 of his 42 plate appearances against left-handed pitching. He'll replace Pavin Smith as the Diamondbacks' DH on Wednesday with southpaw Brandon Waddell in line to work in bulk relief for the Mets once right-handed opener Huascar Brazoban exits the contest.

Garcia is not in the Nationals' starting lineup against the Phillies on Wednesday.

Garcia has been in the Nationals' starting nine against lefties a few times this season, but he'll begin Wednesday's game in the dugout while Amed Rosario starts at the keystone and bats in the leadoff spot against Phillies southpaw Cristopher Sanchez. Garcia has recorded at least one hit in five of his last six games, and over that span he has gone 7-for-21 with one stolen base, two runs scored and a solo homer.

Valdez is not in the Pirates' starting lineup against the Cubs on Wednesday.

With the Cubs sending southpaw Matthew Boyd to the hill, Valdez will begin Wednesday's game in the dugout while Matt Gorski starts at first base and bats sixth. Valdez is slashing .219/.324/.422 with seven runs scored, two home runs and 11 RBI over 74 plate appearances this season.

Fraley is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Cardinals.

With lefty Steven Matz on the bump for St. Louis, the left-handed-hitting Fraley will give way to Blake Dunn in right field for the nightcap. Fraley went 0-for-2 with a walk in the Reds' 6-0 loss in the first game of the day, bringing his batting average down to .200 for the season.

Trevino is out of the lineup for the second game of Wednesday's doubleheader with the Cardinals.

Trevino will get a breather for the nightcap after he went 1-for-3 while catching all nine innings of the Reds' 6-0 loss in Game 1. Austin Wynns will receive the nod behind the dish for Game 2.
