Gabriel Moreno C | ARI
Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Receiving breather Sunday
Moreno is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.
Moreno started the first three games of the series and will get a breather Sunday after going 4-for-13 with a grand slam and a stolen base. Jose Herrera will take over behind the plate and form a battery with starting pitcher Zac Gallen in the series finale.

Cade Cavalli SP | WAS
Nationals' Cade Cavalli: Activated and optioned
The Nationals reinstated Cavalli (elbow) from the 15-day injured list Sunday and optioned him to Triple-A Rochester.
After making his MLB debut with the Nationals in 2022, Cavalli had been limited to just 8.1 minor-league innings over the past two seasons while recovering from March 2023 Tommy John surgery. He reported healthy to spring training but was brought along slowly before being cleared to begin a rehab assignment April 19. Cavalli will stick around with Rochester and should continue to make regular turns through the rotation. He's expected to get another look in the big leagues later this season.

Ketel Marte 2B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Ketel Marte: Heading to bench Sunday
Marte is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Dodgers.
Marte started the first three games of the series versus Los Angeles and went 4-for-10 with a double and three home runs, but he'll take a seat for Sunday's finale. Tim Tawa will start at the keystone and bat eighth against righty Tony Gonsolin.

Nick Martini DH | COL
Rockies' Nick Martini: Not starting Sunday
Martini is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
Martini started the first two games of the series and went 2-for-3 with a double in Saturday's contest, but he'll head to the bench for the finale. Hunter Goodman will rest his legs as the designated hitter while Jacob Stallings receives a start behind the plate.

Adael Amador 2B | COL
Rockies' Adael Amador: Heading to bench Sunday
Amador is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Padres.
Amador had started at second base in four of the previous five games but will give way to Kyle Farmer in the series finale. Despite receiving fairly steady playing time since his April 13 promotion, Amador has been unable to get much going at the dish. Through his first 20 games, the 22-year-old rookie is slashing just .173/.246/.308 with one home run and one stolen base across 58 plate appearances.

Bradley Blalock RP | MIA
Rockies' Bradley Blalock: Demoted after brutal start
The Rockies optioned Blalock to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.
Unsurprisingly, Blalock received a demotion after he was lit up for 12 earned runs on 13 hits and two walks over just 3.2 innings during Saturday's 21-0 loss to the Padres. The Rockies still have an opening in the rotation with Ryan Feltner (back) not ready to return from the injured list, and Triple-A righty Tanner Gordon could be the next man up as the fifth starter.
-
Juan Mejia RP | COL
Rockies' Juan Mejia: Bumped down to Triple-A
The Rockies optioned Mejia to Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.
Mejia was unlikely to be available for the next couple of days after he gave up seven runs (four earned) in 1.1 innings and tossed 44 pitches in Saturday's 21-0 loss to the Padres, so the Rockies opted to replace him on the 26-man roster. Colorado called up lefty Ryan Rolison to take Mejia's spot in the bullpen.

Ryan Rolison RP | CHC
Rockies' Ryan Rolison: Receives call-up
The Rockies selected Rolison's contract from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.
Rolison will be making his MLB debut when he gets into a game. He was previously a member of the Rockies' 40-man roster during the 2022 and 2023 seasons, but his standing in the organization fell after he struggled to bounce back from June 2022 shoulder surgery. Though Colorado initially developed him as a starter, Rolison made the full-time transition to relief in 2024 and has found some success. Over 12 appearances in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League this season, Rolison has delivered a 3.72 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and 23:7 K:BB over 19.1 innings.
-
Anthony Molina RP | ATL
Rockies' Anthony Molina: Receives call-up
The Rockies recalled Molina from Triple-A Albuquerque on Sunday.
Molina made 35 appearances (one start) with the Rockies as a Rule 5 selection in 2024, but he's made the move to the rotation at Albuquerque this season. Over his seven starts, Molina has produced a 9.20 ERA, 2.39 WHIP and 23:18 K:BB in 30.1 innings. The Rockies have an opening in the rotation after optioning Bradley Blalock to Albuquerque in a corresponding move, but Molina is expected to serve as a long man out of the Colorado bullpen.

Kris Bryant RF | COL
Rockies' Kris Bryant: Shifts to 60-day IL
The Rockies transferred Bryant (back) from the 10-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Sunday.
The move comes just a few days after the Rockies announced that Bryant underwent a successful ablation procedure to address his chronically bothersome back. The 33-year-old is without a timeline to resume baseball activities, but given the nature of his surgery as well as his placement on the 60-day IL, he'll most likely remain sidelined at least through the end of June. Since signing a seven-year, $182 million contract with the Rockies in March 2022, Bryant has had nine separate stints on the IL and has slashed just .244/.324/.370 over 712 total plate appearances.
