Elias Diaz C | TEX
Padres' Elias Diaz: Taking seat Tuesday
Diaz isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Angels.
Diaz will give way to Martin Maldonado behind the dish after the former went 0-for-4 with a strikeout in the series opener Monday.

Ryan Pressly RP | CHC
Cubs' Ryan Pressly: Bypassed in save opportunity
Pressly was not used in a save situation Monday, as Drew Pomeranz instead closed out the 5-2 win over the Marlins.
Pressly last pitched Friday, so fatigue shouldn't have been an issue. It appears the Cubs are ready to try other options at the end of games due to Pressly's struggles. The veteran righty has a 7.07 ERA and 1.93 WHIP, and he's only struck out six batters across 14 innings. Porter Hodge seemed like the most likely ninth-inning alternative coming into the year, but he's also struggled with a 5.71 ERA of his own. The Chicago bullpen is in flux at the moment, and while Pressly could re-emerge as the closer at some point, his fantasy stock is trending down for now.

Andrew McCutchen DH | TEX
Pirates' Andrew McCutchen: Idle Tuesday
McCutchen isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Mets.
McCutchen will start Tuesday's contest on the bench after going 1-for-3 with a walk during Monday's series opener. His absence will put Joey Bart into the DH spot while Henry Davis catches and bats ninth.

Oneil Cruz CF | PIT
Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Sitting again Tuesday
Cruz (back) isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets.
Tuesday will mark the third consecutive absence for Cruz due to his sore back. The Pirates haven't announced any plans to move him to the injured list, though that could change if the 26-year-old doesn't return within the next few days. Ji Hwan Bae will start in center field Tuesday and bat eighth.

Tommy Pham LF | NYM
Pirates' Tommy Pham: Sitting Tuesday
Pham isn't in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Mets.
Pham served his one-game suspension Monday, but the Pirates will give him another day off Tuesday following his 1-for-10 stretch at the plate. Alexander Canario, Ji Hwan Bae and Bryan Reynolds will start across Pittsburgh's outfield while Pham rests.

Moises Ballesteros DH | LAA
Cubs' Moises Ballesteros: Promotion made official
The Cubs selected Ballesteros' contract from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic reports.
Ballesteros earned the promotion after batting .368 with four home runs, 18 RBI and three stolen bases over 34 games at Iowa. The 21-year-old will be making his major-league debut when he gets into a game and could serve as the Cubs' primary designated hitter while Ian Happ (oblique) is out, with Seiya Suzuki covering left field.
-
Ian Happ LF | CHC
Cubs' Ian Happ: Officially placed on IL
Happ (oblique) was placed on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, Sahadev Sharma of The Athletic reports.
The move is retroactive to May 10. Moises Ballesteros is making his big-league debut Tuesday while Seiya Suzuki shifts to the outfield in Happ's absence. Happ is hitting .269 with three home runs, two steals, 29 runs and 19 RBI in 39 games.

Ronald Acuna Jr. RF | ATL
Braves' Ronald Acuna: Getting three PAs Tuesday
Acuna (knee) will get three plate appearances Tuesday in the first game of his rehab assignment in the Florida Complex League, Mark Bowman of MLB.com reports.
This will likely allow Acuna to play four or five innings in right field, as Atlanta is treating this like it's his first spring training game. There isn't an official timeline for Acuna's return to the majors, but he could theoretically return before the end of May.

Freddie Freeman 1B | LAD
Dodgers' Freddie Freeman: Intensive daily treatment on ankle
Freeman requires 90 minutes of treatment on his surgically repaired right ankle every day, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.
Freeman noted that the ankle is "not 100 percent" but is "good enough" to play on. The lingering ankle discomfort is likely the main reason Freeman has yet to steal a base in 2025 after averaging 15 steals over the previous three seasons. However, it has not affected Freeman at the plate, as he's sporting a robust .376/.437/.734 batting line with nine home runs and 33 RBI. Freeman has been told by doctors that he might not have to do as much daily treatment on the ankle after the All-Star break.
