Suter will serve as the Reds' opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Guardians, Charlie Goldsmith of the Dayton Daily News reports.

Chase Petty will move into a bulk-relief role Saturday while Suter likely covers the first inning or two. The 35-year-old southpaw has been one of the most reliable arms on the Reds' pitching staff this season, logging a 2.08 ERA and 0.92 WHIP over 21.2 innings.

Matos was scratched from the lineup ahead of Friday's game against the Athletics due to right shoulder discomfort, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.

The severity of Matos' injury remains unknown, though it's enough to warrant holding him out of action Friday. The Giants should provide some more details in the near future, and in the meantime, David Villar will take over as the designated hitter and bat seventh.

Diamondbacks Torey Lovullo said Friday that Martinez (shoulder) will throw in the Arizona Complex League on Saturday, Nick Piecoro of The Arizona Republic reports.

Martinez is in the final stages of his recovery from right shoulder inflammation, which caused him to be placed on the 15-day injured list in early May. He progressed to facing live batters earlier this week, and he'll take the next step in his rehab program by throwing in an ACL game Saturday. Martinez could return to the big club shortly after Saturday's outing depending on how his shoulder responds.

Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Friday that Quintana (shoulder) could be reinstated from the 15-day injured list when eligible May 26, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Quintana landed on the 15-day IL on Wednesday due to a left shoulder impingement. An MRI revealed inflammation in his left shoulder, but the Brewers are optimistic that Quintana will need only a minimum stint on the IL, which would put him in line to start against the Red Sox on May 26. He went 4-1 across six starts with a 2.65 ERA, 1.24 WHIP and 24:11 K:BB over 34 innings prior to his injury.

Martini isn't in the lineup for Friday's game against the Diamondbacks.

Martini will step out of the starting nine Friday after going 6-for-21 with an RBI and a run scored in 10 games since the start of May. Hunter Goodman will fill in as Colorado's DH while Jacob Stallings starts behind the plate.

Reynolds is not in the Pirates' starting lineup against the Phillies on Friday.

Reynolds will get a breather Friday after going 0-for-21 with one RBI and seven strikeouts over his last five games. Alexander Canario, Matt Gorski and Tommy Pham will serve in the outfield for Pittsburgh on Friday.

Cruz (back) is not in the Pirates' starting lineup against the Phillies on Friday.

Cruz will miss a fifth consecutive game while continuing to work through back soreness. Tommy Pham, Matt Gorski and Alexander Canario will start in the outfield for the Pirates in Friday's series opener against Phillies southpaw Ranger Suarez.

The Dodgers optioned Wrobleski to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

Wrobleski pitched well after being recalled Thursday, tossing four shutout frames and striking out four batters while collecting his first win of the season. However, he'll now be sent back to the Comets in favor of Ryan Loutos, who offers another fresh arm to Los Angeles' bullpen.

The Dodgers recalled Loutos from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday, Fabian Ardaya of The Athletic reports.

The Dodgers will call upon Loutos to provide a fresh arm for their bullpen, replacing Justin Wrobleski, who was sent down to the minors. Loutos, 26, was traded from St. Louis to Los Angeles on May 1 and has since thrown 3.1 shutout innings at Oklahoma City. He'll work in middle relief while in L.A.

The Giants optioned Wisely to Triple-A Sacramento on Friday.

The move makes room on the 26-man roster for Tyler Fitzgerald (ribs), who was reinstated from the 10-day injured list. Wisely went 0-for-10 with two RBI after being recalled by the Giants on May 1. He'll return to Triple-A, where he is slashing .235/.325/.431 with three steals, five home runs and 19 RBI in 118 plate appearances.
