Rogers (2-2) took the loss in Monday's 3-1 defeat to the Royals, allowing two earned runs on two hits (one home run) over one inning.

The right-hander entered a scoreless game in the eighth inning, surrendering a double and a two-run homer. Rogers threw 15 of his 20 pitches for strikes but saw his scoreless streak end at five appearances. He now owns a 2.01 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and an 18:3 K:BB with nine holds and a blown save across 22.1 innings in 23 appearances.

Burrows has a 1.02 ERA, 0.85 WHIP and 28:4 K:BB in 17.2 innings over four appearances this month for Triple-A Indianapolis.

The high point of this stretch for the 25-year-old righty was racking up 11 strikeouts over 4.2 scoreless innings against Columbus on May 11, but he's been consistently stingy since giving up three runs in back-to-back 4.1-inning outings to close April. Burrows has been sitting 94-95 mph with his fastball with good movement and leaning on his nasty 86-mph changeup for whiffs. He also mixes in an upper-70s curveball and seldom-thrown slider. Burrows appears ready for a shot in the big-league rotation, although the same can be said of top prospect and teammate Bubba Chandler.

Triple-A Jacksonville placed De Los Santos on the 7-day injured list Saturday with a left quad strain, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Given De Los Santos' defensive shortcomings, he wasn't necessarily pushing for a promotion prior to the injury, as he was slashing .250/.317/.399 with five home runs and a 30.5 percent strikeout rate through 40 games in a repeat of Triple-A. He has started 30 games at first base and five games at third base. All three of the players (Eric Wagaman, Matt Mervis, Jonah Bride) to get time at first base for Miami have been below replacement level, per FanGraphs, so De Los Santos will likely still get a shot sometime in the second half.

Hicks allowed one earned run on two hits and a walk over one inning of relief in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Royals.

Hicks made his first relief appearance of the season and struggled with control, throwing just seven of his 16 pitches for strikes. The right-hander surrendered two singles and a walk as the Royals extended their lead to 3-1. Hicks has primarily operated in a starting role since signing a four-year, $44 million deal with the Giants in January 2024. However, the 28-year-old has had a rough start to the season, posting a 6.60 ERA, 1.55 WHIP and a 41:17 K:BB with one win and five losses across 46.1 innings over 10 appearances (nine starts).

Single-A Daytona placed Holman on its 7-day injured list April 17 due to an unspecified injury.

Before being shut down, the 22-year-old righty breezed through his first two starts of the season, striking out 10 over nine innings while allowing one earned run on two hits and four walks. The Reds haven't offered word on the nature of his injury, nor has a timeline for Holman's return been provided.

Fitzgerald went 0-for-3 with a walk in Monday's 3-1 loss to the Royals.

Fitzgerald made his third appearance after being activated from the 10-day injured list Friday due to a left rib fracture. The 27-year-old has gone 3-for-10 with a double, a run scored and a 2:3 BB:K in that three-game span. He's now slashing .286/.350/.429 with two homers, five steals, 15 runs scored, seven RBI and an 8:23 BB:K across 102 plate appearances this season.

Single-A Jupiter placed Morlando on the 7-day injured list May 5 with a left hamstring strain, Ely Sussman of Fish on First reports.

Morlando underwent ulnar nerve transposition surgery on his left elbow March 12 and beat the estimated return time of 8-to-10 weeks, getting into game action for the Hammerheads on April 22. He hit .231 with a .429 OBP, one home run and a 37.1 percent strikeout rate in eight games before pulling his hamstring.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said after Monday's 9-5 loss to the Diamondbacks that Edman will be held out of the lineup Tuesday, Sonja Chen of MLB.com reports.

After coming off the injured list Sunday following a two-and-a-half-week absence due to a right ankle issue, Edman started in center field that day in the Dodgers' loss to the Angels, finishing 0-for-4. Roberts noted that he's not yet comfortable having Edman play center on consecutive days so soon after the injury, so the 30-year-old shifted to second base Monday and went 1-for-4 with an RBI while Hyeseong Kim got the nod in center. With Edman set to rest Tuesday, Kim will presumably head back to the infield, and Andy Pages will likely start in center after being left out of the lineup Monday.

Cubs president of baseball operations Jed Hoyer said on 670 The Score that Happ (oblique) will be activated from the 10-day injured list prior to Tuesday's game in Miami, Bruce Levine of 670TheScore.com reports.

Manager Craig Counsell said previously that Happ would return at some point during the team's series against the Marlins, and Hoyer has confirmed Happ will be activated Tuesday. The outfielder has missed the minimum 10 days while recovering from a left oblique strain. Moises Ballesteros is expected to be optioned to Triple-A Iowa in a corresponding move.

Sanoja went 1-for-3 with a walk, two runs scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Monday's win over the Cubs.

The 22-year-old got the start at shortstop and batted ninth, and Sanoja was a key part of the Marlins' game-winning rally in the ninth inning, drawing a walk ahead of Jesus Sanchez's walk-off triple. Sanoja has been a fixture in the lineup of late in a middle-infield spot with Xavier Edwards (back) landing on the IL just as Otto Lopez was activated from it, but he hasn't really taken advantage. Through 51 plate appearances in May, Sanoja is slashing just .167/.216/.229 with four runs, four RBI and two of his three steals on the season.
