The Reds reinstated Moll (shoulder) from the 15-day injured list and optioned him to Triple-A Louisville on Wednesday.

With Moll's 30-day rehab window coming to a close, the Reds were content with the members of their nine-man bullpen and opted to keep the lefty at Triple-A rather than opening a spot for him on the 26-man active roster. Moll should still rank near the top of the list for a call-up if the Reds require another relief arm at any point. The southpaw had posted a 6.52 ERA and 1.97 WHIP over 9.2 innings during his rehab assignment with Louisville, but he delivered scoreless appearances in four of his last five outings.

The Pirates optioned Mlodzinski to Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.

As expected, Mlodzinski will head back to the minors while the Pirates open up a spot in the rotation for right-hander Mike Burrows, who was called up from Triple-A in advance of his first MLB start Thursday versus the Brewers. After winning a spot in the Opening Day rotation coming out of spring training, Mlodzinski struggled over his nine starts, going 1-4 with a 5.67 ERA, 1.61 WHIP and 28:12 K:BB in 39.2 innings. He might stay stretched out as a member of the Indianapolis rotation, but Mlodzinski could be ticketed for the bullpen the next time he receives a call-up to Pittsburgh.

The Pirates recalled Burrows from Triple-A Indianapolis on Wednesday.

Pittsburgh had been expected to wait until Thursday to make Burrows' promotion official, but he'll join the big club a day in advance of his first MLB start Thursday against the Brewers at PNC Park. He'll be joining the rotation as a replacement for righty Carmen Mlodzinski, who was optioned to Triple-A in a corresponding move. The 25-year-old righty has been a standout performer at Indianapolis this season, logging a 2.40 ERA, 1.00 WHIP and 39:9 K:BB across 30 innings.

Black (hand) began a rehab assignment in the rookie-level Arizona Complex League last Thursday and has slashed .455/.571/.818 over 14 plate appearances through his first four games.

Black remains on Triple-A Nashville's injured list after he sustained a fractured hamate bone in his right hand late in spring training, but he looks to be close to making his season debut with Milwaukee's top affiliate. The 24-year-old appeared in 18 games with the big club in 2024 and retains a spot on the Brewers' 40-man roster, but once activated, he'll likely need to turn in a solid run of production at the plate with Nashville before he garners consideration for a call-up.

Lee went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Royals.

Lee lined an RBI single to center field in the fifth inning, driving in the Giants' final run. The 26-year-old outfielder has cooled off after a hot start at the plate this season. Over 18 appearances in May, he's slashing .205/.213/.356 with 13 RBI, seven runs scored, three homers, two doubles and a 0:8 BB:K across 75 plate appearances.

Collins is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles.

Collins will hit the bench after he went 2-for-10 with a walk, a run and two RBI while starting in left field in each of the last three games, including against a pair of right-handers. The switch-hitting Collins should remain the Brewers' preferred option in left field against lefties for the time being, but he might have to settle for a timeshare at the position with the lefty-hitting Jake Bauers when Milwaukee faces right-handed pitching. Bauers will get the nod Wednesday as the Orioles send righty Tomoyuki Sugano to the bump.

Triple-A Indianapolis placed Barco on its 7-day injured list Sunday due to an unspecified injury.

Barco sustained the injury at some point during his most recent start for Indianapolis last Thursday, when he was lifted midway through the first inning after allowing two earned runs on one hit and three walks. The 24-year-old lefty had enjoyed a strong start to the season prior to that outing, producing a 0.30 ERA, 0.77 WHIP and 39:10 K:BB across 30 innings over his seven starts between Indianapolis and Double-A Altoona.

Adames went 1-for-4 with an RBI triple and a run scored in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Royals.

Adames put the Giants on the board in the fourth inning, crushing a flyball to center field for his first three-bagger of the 2025 campaign. He posted his eighth RBI of May before coming around to score. The 29-year-old shortstop is slashing .239/.316/.465 with 13 runs scored, nine extra-base hits -- including three home runs -- and a 7:23 BB:K across 79 plate appearances this month. However, he has logged a 29.1 percent strikeout rate in May, up from 23.4 percent during the first month-plus of the campaign.

Canario will start in right field and bat fifth in Wednesday's game against the Reds.

With Andrew McCutchen getting a breather for the afternoon game and with Bryan Reynolds occupying the designated-hitter spot, the Pirates will have room at the corner-outfield spots for both Canario and Tommy Pham. However, the Pirates are seemingly prioritizing Canario ahead of Pham when McCutchen is in the lineup, as Canario will pick up his seventh start in the Bucs' last eight games, while Pham is getting just his third start during that stretch. Canario owns a modest .654 OPS on the season, but that still represents a big upgrade over the .481 OPS that Pham has provided.

Contreras is not in the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the Orioles.

Contreras will get a rare day off after starting in each of the last 11 games, with all but one coming at catcher. Eric Haase will fill in behind the dish and bat sixth as the Brewers try to complete the sweep.
