The Dodgers recalled Gervase from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Friday.
Gervase has allowed two runs with an 8:5 K:BB over 7.2 innings out of the Dodgers' bullpen this season, and he's logged a 4.86 ERA and 46:31 K:BB in 37 frames with Oklahoma City. The tall righty will likely provide low-leverage relief while up with the big-league club.

Nationals' CJ Abrams: Held out of lineup again Friday
Abrams (ankle) remains out of the lineup for Friday's game in Miami.
Abrams will miss a second consecutive game as he deals with a left ankle injury. He is considered day-to-day, and Nationals manager Blake Butera previously expressed optimism that Abrams could return Saturday. Nasim Nunez is at shortstop and Jorbit Vivas is covering second base Friday.

Cardinals' Quinn Mathews: Starting on Saturday in Philadelphia
Mathews will be recalled from Triple-A Memphis to start Saturday's game in Philadelphia, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
He's grabbing the spot vacated by Andre Pallante (elbow) and will receive at least two turns through the Cardinals' rotation. Mathews has posted a 3.27 ERA and 120:61 K:BB over 99 innings covering 21 starts at Memphis in 2026, and he's allowed three runs with a 10:6 K:BB over nine innings in two starts for St. Louis.

The Cardinals recalled Fernandez from Triple-A Memphis on Friday, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Fernandez will provide a fresh relief arm for the Cardinals' bullpen after the club played five games in the past four days. The righty has given St. Louis quality relief work this season, logging a 2.70 ERA and 20:7 K:BB in 13.1 innings.

Cardinals' Andre Pallante: Lands on IL with elbow inflammation
The Cardinals placed Pallante on the 15-day injured list Friday with right elbow inflammation, Derrick Goold of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Pallante felt some discomfort during his last start Monday in Cincinnati. The Cardinals don't seem worried about any structural damage, but they'd like to head off a longer absence. Quinn Mathews will enter the St. Louis rotation in Pallante's place.

Marlins' Anthony Bender: Encounters setback during rehab
Bender's rehab assignment has been paused after he reported soreness in his right shin during his first rehab appearance with Triple-A Jacksonville, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.
Working his way back from a stress reaction in his shin, Bender pitched for Jacksonville on Tuesday in his first outing in nearly two months. He's returned to Miami to be examined, and the next steps for his rehab will be determined following that visit.

Rockies' Kyle Karros: Returning from concussion IL
The Rockies activated Karros from the 7-day injured list Friday.
Karros wound up missing a little over a week with his concussion symptoms. He did not embark upon a rehab assignment, but the third baseman ramped up on-field workouts this week to clear the path for his return to the Rockies' lineup. Karros has had a nice first full season in the big leagues, sporting a .265/.361/.424 slash line with 10 home runs in 116 contests.
