Herrera went 3-for-7 with a two-run home run and a walk as the Cardinals split Thursday's doubleheader versus the Royals.

Herrera was the designated hitter for both games, which continues to be his main place in the lineup. The matinee was his first multi-hit effort since May 20, ending a stretch of 11 contests where he went a meager 6-for-38 (.158). For the season, Herrera is at a .333/.417/.578 slash line with six homers, 28 RBI, 18 runs scored and one stolen base over 30 contests. Even though he's slowed down with the bat in recent weeks, his spot as a near-everyday member of the lineup appears to be safe.

Crow-Armstrong went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Nationals.

Crow-Armstrong got the scoring started with his 16th home run of the season in the top of the first inning. The talented young outfielder leads the Cubs with the 16 long balls, and he also leads the team with 21 stolen bases. Both figures are among the top 10 in the majors, making Crow-Armstrong a uniquely valuable fantasy asset so far this year.

Rea (4-2) picked up the win Thursday against the Nationals, allowing five hits and one walk with no strikeouts over 5.1 scoreless innings.

Drew Pomeranz handled the first inning before handing the ball off to Rea, who held Washington scoreless despite not recording a strikeout. It was a much-needed bounce-back outing for Rea, who allowed 12 runs and four homers across his previous two appearances. It was also Rea's first outing with fewer than two walks since April 18. He'll look to keep the ball rolling next time out, but he's tentatively scheduled to face a potent Phillies offense.

Garcia went 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI single during Thursday's 7-1 loss to the Cubs.

Garcia provided the Nationals' lone run Thursday, plating Daylen Lile in the bottom of the ninth inning to avoid a shutout. The performance also marked Garcia's fourth multi-hit game in his last six appearances, and he's 12-for-27 (.444) with four doubles, five runs scored and seven RBI during that stretch. On the year, Garcia is slashing .263/.305/.412 with five homers and seven steals in 54 games.

Irvin (5-2) took the loss Thursday against the Cubs, allowing three runs on eight hits and two walks with three strikeouts over five innings.

Irvin added a tally in the loss column for the first time in six starts and failed to complete six innings for a second straight outing. Before that, Irvin had tossed six innings in seven of his previous eight appearances. Through 13 starts this season, Irvin owns a 4.02 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP and a 50:22 K:BB over 78.1 innings. He's on track to face the Mets on the road next time out.

Shaw went 3-for-5 with two runs scored in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Nationals. He also stole two bases.

Shaw was electric from the No. 8 spot in the order as he snapped a 1-for-13 slump that stretched across his previous four games. This was the rookie's second career game with three hits. It was also his second career game with multiple stolen bases, and he now has seven steals for the season in as many attempts. Shaw remains a work in progress at the plate, but his ability on the bases is giving his fantasy value a boost, and he has the potential to do even more with the bat as he gets more comfortable against MLB pitching.

Happ went 3-for-6 with a double, a home run and four RBI in Thursday's 7-1 win over the Nationals.

Happ was an excellent table setter Thursday as he extended his modest hitting streak to three games. The leadoff hitter also popped his fourth home run of the season in the sixth inning with a runner on. Happ is starting to heat up with a .294 batting average over his last eight games, and he figures to keep producing useful stats from the top of Chicago's potent lineup.

Liberatore exited Thursday's start in the second game of a doubleheader against the Royals due to fatigue, Jim Hayes reports.

Liberatore labored through four innings, allowing six earned runs on eight hits and a walk. His velocity was also down to 89.8 mph in his final at-bat, so fatigue is seemingly the best news possible. It's unclear if Liberatore will require further testing or whether he will make his next turn through the rotation.

Woodford signed a minor-league contract with the Cubs on Thursday.

The Yankees released Woodford on Sunday, but he found a new opportunity quickly. He'll be a candidate to provide depth out of the Cubs' bullpen but has yet to appear in a major-league game in 2025.

Robinson was outrighted to Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.

Robinson cleared waivers and will now stick in the Dodgers' organization after being designated for assignment Tuesday. He's unlikely to find his way to the majors barring an injury, with Will Smith and Dalton Rushing atop the team's depth chart at catcher.
