The Marlins will recall Mazur from Triple-A Jacksonville to start Wednesday's game against the Phillies, Christina De Nicola of MLB.com reports.

Mazur made eight starts with the Padres last season, turning in a 7.49 ERA across 33.2 innings before being dealt to Miami in the trade that sent Tanner Scott to San Diego. Mazur has shown improvement at Triple-A Jacksonville this year to the tune of a 3.62 ERA and 1.23 WHIP through 59.2 frames, and he'll now get another opportunity to prove himself in the big leagues. Whether he sticks around in the Marlins' rotation will likely depend on his performance Wednesday and the health of Max Meyer (hip).

Flores is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Guardians.

With a .256 average, 11 home runs, 51 RBI and 31 runs over 70 games, Flores has been an excellent value for those that selected him late in drafts or scooped him off the waiver wire early on in the season, but his fantasy utility looks as though it could take a major hit after the Giants acquired Rafael Devers from the Red Sox on Sunday. Prior to Tuesday's contest, manager Bob Melvin made no mention of Devers being an option at third base while Matt Chapman (hand) is on the injured list, with the skipper noting that Devers will instead be used at designated hitter and eventually first base, per Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic. Flores' days as a third baseman also appear to be over at this point, and since Devers will be guaranteed an everyday spot in the lineup at DH until the Giants are comfortable having him play defense, Flores looks like he'll be vying with Dominic Smith for playing time at first base. Smith (.919 OPS) has gotten off to a nice start since signing with the Giants earlier this month and bats from the left side, so the right-handed-hitting Flores may end up having to settle for a short-side platoon role. Flores will be on the bench Tuesday while the Guardians send righty Slade Cecconi to the bump.

The Pirates are expected to place Reynolds on the paternity list Wednesday, Alex Stumpf of MLB.com reports.

Reynolds was pulled from Tuesday's contest in the second inning to be with his wife, who had gone into labor during the game. The 30-year-old outfielder will be allowed to miss up to three games while he welcomes a new addition to his family; meanwhile, Alexander Canario figures to benefit from a few additional starts in the outfield.

Manager Bob Melvin said that Devers -- who will start at designated hitter and bat third in his Giants debut Tuesday against the Guardians -- will also see some playing time at first base with his new team, Angelina Martin of NBC Sports Bay Area reports. "Yeah, we talked to [Devers] a little bit and, like he said, he goes, 'I'll play wherever you want me to play. I'll hit wherever you want me to hit,'" Melvin said. "We're going to work with him and get him some groundballs at first and make sure he's comfortable before we put him over there, and that's pretty much the way we look at it right now -- little bit of DH and a little bit of first."

Devers refused to take reps at first base with Boston when Triston Casas suffered a season-ending knee injury in May, but after being shipped out to San Francisco in a stunning deal Sunday, the 28-year-old expressed a desire to make a positive first impression with his new organization and said through an interpreter Tuesday that he's "here to do whatever they want me to do," per Andrew Baggarly of The Athletic. Aside from three innings at second base and three innings at shortstop, Devers has never played any position but third base during his career. He had served exclusively as a DH for Boston prior to being traded, and Melvin made no mention of the three-time All-Star moving back to his former position, even while Matt Chapman (hand) looks to be at least a couple weeks away from returning from the injured list. Instead, Devers looks as though he'll initially be used mostly at DH with the Giants, though the eventual plan is for him to take over as the club's everyday first baseman once the coaching staff feels he's capable of handling the position defensively.

Glasnow (shoulder) threw two innings and about 40 pitches in a live batting practice session Tuesday, Jack Harris of the Los Angeles Times reports.

Glasnow has been battling right shoulder inflammation since late April, and he's slowly been making progress in the last couple weeks. The right-hander looked "really good" in the BP session according to manager Dave Roberts, and a minor-league rehab assignment could come in the near future.

Manager Torey Lovullo said Puk (elbow) will visit Dr. Neal ElAttrache in Los Angeles on Thursday after experiencing some left elbow discomfort, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

The 30-year-old had his throwing program paused last week due to the discomfort, and the fact he's visiting a well-known surgeon could be cause for concern. The Diamondbacks will already be without closer Justin Martinez for the rest of the season due to Tommy John surgery, and Puk is now being evaluated for further elbow issues after landing on the shelf with inflammation in mid-April.

Moreno was scratched from the lineup ahead of Tuesday's game against Toronto due to right hand soreness, Steve Gilbert of MLB.com reports.

Moreno will take a day off Tuesday to give his hand time to recover. Meanwhile, Jose Herrera will fill in behind the dish and bat ninth for Arizona.

Gose agreed to a contract with the Diamondbacks on Tuesday, Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports.

The specifics of the deal aren't clear, but Gose quickly linked up with the Diamondbacks after being released from his minor-league contract with the Mets on Monday. The left-hander posted a 4.30 ERA, 1.52 WHIP and 25:14 K:BB across 23 innings at the Triple-A level with New York.

Schmitt (foot) will start at third base and bat sixth Tuesday against the Guardians, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

After fouling a ball off his foot Sunday, Schmitt missed out on the starting nine Monday, though he managed to appear as a pinch hitter. He'll now rejoin the lineup as San Francisco's third baseman while Rafael Devers makes his Giants debut as the DH.

The Giants optioned Johnson to Triple-A Sacramento on Tuesday, Susan Slusser of the San Francisco Chronicle reports.

With Rafael Devers officially joining the active roster Tuesday, Johnson will end up as the roster casualty necessary to create room on the 26-man. The 29-year-old is 4-for-17 with a homer and four runs scored in the big leagues this season, and he owns an .846 OPS across 109 plate appearances in the minors.
