Pavin Smith 1B | ARI
Diamondbacks' Pavin Smith: Nine-game starting streak ends
Smith is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.
Arizona is facing a left-handed starting pitcher (Eric Lauer) for the first time since June 6, so Smith will retreat to the bench along with fellow left-handed-hitting regular Alek Thomas. Randal Grichuk will step in at designated hitter in place of Smith, who hit .200 with one home run and two RBI while starting each of the last nine games.

Gabriel Moreno C | ARI
Diamondbacks' Gabriel Moreno: Out again with hand injury
Moreno (hand) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Blue Jays.
Jose Herrera will draw another start behind the dish while Moreno takes a seat for the third game in a row as he continues to manage a sore right hand. The Diamondbacks haven't called up another catcher from the minors, so Moreno is likely being viewed as day-to-day and could make his return to the lineup as soon as Thursday's series finale.

Adam Mazur P | MIA
Marlins' Adam Mazur: Recalled ahead of start
The Marlins recalled Mazur from Triple-A Jacksonville ahead of his scheduled start Wednesday against the Phillies in Miami.
Acquired from the Padres in a six-player deal last summer, Mazur will be making his Marlins debut Wednesday, joining the Miami rotation as a replacement for the injured Max Meyer (hip). Though Meyer has been able to play catch since landing on the injured list, it's unclear how close he is to being reinstated, so Mazur may be in store for multiple turns through the rotation. Over his 12 outings (11 starts) with Jacksonville this season, the 24-year-old righty has recorded a 3.62 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 55:16 K:BB in 59.2 innings.

Freddy Tarnok RP | MIA
Marlins' Freddy Tarnok: Sent back to minors
The Marlins optioned Tarnok to Triple-A Jacksonville on Wednesday.
Tarnok made a nice impression during his brief time in the majors, picking up a save in his first appearance and a win in his other outing and not allowing a baserunner in either outing. He should receive another opportunity with the Marlins eventually, but for now he's clearing out to make room on the roster for Wednesday's starting pitcher, Adam Mazur, who was recalled from Triple-A. Tarnok could settle back into a starting role as he returns to Jacksonville.

Hunter Goodman C | COL
Rockies' Hunter Goodman: Day off Wednesday
Goodman is not in the lineup for Wednesday's tilt against the Nationals.
Goodman will get a well-earned day after starting in each of the last five and 13 of the last 14 contests. The Rockies will go with Braxton Fulford at catcher Wednesday and will plug him into the No. 9 spot in the batting order.
-
Thairo Estrada 2B | BAL
Rockies' Thairo Estrada: Taking seat Wednesday
Estrada (hand) is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals.
Estrada exited Tuesday's win after being hit in the right hand by a pitch. X-rays came back clean, but Estrada is likely sore and will be given at least one day of rest. Kyle Farmer will start at the keystone and bat second for the Rockies.

Shinnosuke Ogasawara SP | WAS
Nationals' Shinnosuke Ogasawara: On rehab assignment
Ogasawara (oblique) has been transferred to High-A Wilmington to continue his rehab assignment.
Ogasawara tossed two scoreless frames with two strikeouts with the rookie-level Florida Complex League on Saturday in his first rehab start. The left-hander has been on the 7-day injured list at Triple-A Rochester since mid-April due to an oblique strain. Ogasawara should be activated by Rochester soon if all goes well, but there's no indication he's under consideration for a spot on the major-league roster anytime soon. The 27-year-old held a 4.80 ERA and 12:4 K:BB over 15 innings in three starts for Rochester before getting hurt.

Jeremiah Estrada RP | SD
Padres' Jeremiah Estrada: Has rough outing Tuesday
Estrada (2-4) took the loss against the Dodgers on Tuesday, allowing five runs on five hits without retiring any batters.
When Estrada entered in the sixth inning, the game was tied 3-3. The right-hander gave up a single to the first batter he faced and was then tagged for a two-run homer by Will Smith. Estrada gave up three consecutive singles following the long ball and was pulled without having recorded an out. He's yielded seven runs over 1.2 innings across his past three outings, pushing his season ERA from 2.08 up to 3.94.

C.J. Abrams SS | WAS
Nationals' CJ Abrams: Stays busy on basepaths
Abrams went 2-for-4 with a walk, a run scored, an RBI and a stolen base in Tuesday's loss to the Rockies.
The steal was the third in two games for the shortstop, giving him 14 on the season in 16 attempts. Abrams is locked in at the plate right now, racking up four multi-hit performances in the last eight games while batting .375 (12-for-32) with a homer, three RBI and eight runs scored.
