  • Phillies' J.T. Realmuto: Idle Thursday

Realmuto isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game versus Miami, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Realmuto will get a breather during Thursday's series finale after going 1-for-5 with an RBI, a run scored and three strikeouts in Wednesday's contest. Rafael Marchan will catch for left-handed starter Cristopher Sanchez instead and bat eighth.

  • Otto Kemp LF | PHI

    Phillies' Otto Kemp: Starting Thursday

Kemp (knee) will start at first base and bat sixth against the Marlins on Thursday, Lochlahn March of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Knee problems kept Kemp out of Wednesday's contest, but he seems to be feeling better after a day of rest and will now rejoin the starting nine. Through his first 10 games as a major leaguer, the 25-year-old has gone 10-for-36 (.278) with four RBI and six runs scored.

  • Eli White RF | ATL

Braves' Eli White: Sitting again Thursday

White isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Mets.

White will concede a second consecutive start in left field to Alex Verdugo after the latter went 1-for-4 with a run scored in Wednesday's victory. The two players are likely to see a sizable drop in playing time relatively soon with Jurickson Profar less than two weeks away from completing his 80-game suspension.

  • Giants' Andrew Knizner: Back in No. 2 role

Knizner is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians.

With Patrick Bailey returning from the injured list Wednesday, Knizner looks set to move back into the No. 2 role at catcher. While Bailey was on the shelf for the minimum 10 days, Knizner made six starts in eight games and went 2-for-18 with a solo home run, one walk and an additional run.

  • Jose Herrera C | TEX

Diamondbacks' Jose Herrera: Taking over as No. 1 catcher

Herrera will start at catcher and bat ninth in Thursday's game against the Blue Jays.

Herrera will pick up his fourth straight start and looks set to operate as Arizona's No. 1 backstop for at least the next week after Gabriel Moreno (hand) was placed on the 10-day injured list Thursday. Though he's received positive reviews for his pitch framing and ability to control the running game, Herrera hasn't provided much of an impact at the plate over parts of four seasons in the big leagues. He's a career .199 hitter and has slugged just two home runs in 459 plate appearances.

  • Aaron Nola SP | PHI

Phillies' Aaron Nola: Moved to 60-day IL

The Phillies transferred Nola (ankle/ribs) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Thursday.

The move clears a spot on the 40-man roster for infielder Buddy Kennedy, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Lehigh Valley. As a result of the transaction, Nola won't be eligible for activation until the first game after the All-Star break, but he had already effectively been ruled out until then anyway. The hurler initially went on the IL back in mid-May with a sprained ankle, but he's now recovering from a stress reaction in his right rib cage.

  • Weston Wilson 3B | SEA

Phillies' Weston Wilson: Sent to Triple-A

The Phillies optioned Wilson to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Thursday.

Wilson was on the roster primarily to hit left-handed pitching, but he's being sent down after going just 5-for-29 versus southpaws. Buddy Kennedy was called up from Triple-A to take over Wilson's spot on the roster.

  • Corbin Carroll RF | ARI

Diamondbacks' Corbin Carroll: Absent from Arizona lineup

Carroll (hand) is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Toronto.

Carroll exited Wednesday's 8-1 loss after being struck on the left hand by a pitch. X-rays came back negative, and Carroll tried to talk his way into Thursday's lineup, per Jose M. Romero of The Arizona Republic, suggesting he has a good chance to return to action Friday in Colorado. Randal Grichuk will start in right field and bat seventh for the Diamondbacks on Thursday.

  • Giants' Tyler Fitzgerald: Day off Thursday

Fitzgerald is not in the lineup for Thursday's game versus the Guardians.

Fitzgerald will head to the bench for the second time in four contests while he slashed just .143/.218/.163 to begin June. Christian Koss will start at second base and bat ninth for the Giants in the series finale.

  • Marlins' Robinson Pina: Expected to be called up

The Marlins are expected to call up Pina from Triple-A Jacksonville prior to Thursday's game against the Phillies, Kevin Barral of FishonFirst.com reports.

Pina has made 11 starts and two relief appearances with Jacksonville this season, posting a 3.47 ERA and 54:15 K:BB over 57 innings. The 26-year-old appears poised for a long relief role and will be making his major-league debut when/if he gets into a game.
