Josh Bell DH | MIN
Nationals' Josh Bell: Idle for series finale
Bell is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Padres, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.
The switch-hitting Bell has received most of his days off against left-handed pitching of late, but he'll head to the bench Wednesday against a right-hander (Nick Pivetta) as the Nationals open up a spot on the lineup for Alex Call. Bell had started in each of the Nationals' last four games, going 5-for-16 with a home run to bring his OPS up to .624 for the season.

Fernando Tatis Jr. RF | SD
Padres' Fernando Tatis: Moves into cleanup spot
Tatis will start in right field and bat cleanup in Wednesday's contest versus the Nationals.
Padres manager Mike Shildt is switching up his batting order, as Tatis will hit somewhere other than the leadoff spot for the first time all season. Luis Arraez will move atop the lineup Wednesday and will be followed by Manny Machado and Jackson Merrill.

Jake Cronenworth 2B | SD
Padres' Jake Cronenworth: Absent from lineup Wednesday
Cronenworth is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game versus the Nationals.
Cronenworth will get his first day off since May 23. Jose Iglesias will play second base and bat seventh against Nationals left-hander MacKenzie Gore.

Joey Bart C | ATL
Pirates' Joey Bart: Splitting catching reps with Davis
Bart is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Brewers.
Bart went 0-for-5 with four strikeouts in the series opener Monday and is now out of the lineup in favor of Henry Davis for the second day in a row. The two catchers have been sharing reps behind the plate since Bart returned from the 7-day injured list last week, with Bart receiving five starts to Davis' four.

Jose Herrera C | TEX
Diamondbacks' Jose Herrera: Resting for series finale
Herrera is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.
After starting in eight of the Diamondbacks' last nine games, Herrera will receive a breather for the day game following a night game. Though he's been operating as the Diamondbacks' No. 1 catcher since Gabriel Moreno (finger) landed on the injured list last Thursday, Herrera could end up settling into a timeshare with the newly signed James McCann once McCann gets more acclimated with the Arizona pitching staff. McCann will make his team debut behind the dish Wednesday, forming a battery with starting pitcher Zac Gallen.

Andrew McCutchen DH | ATL
Pirates' Andrew McCutchen: Day off Wednesday
McCutchen is absent from the lineup for Wednesday's game in Milwaukee.
McCutchen had started each of the previous eight contests but will get a breather in Wednesday's series finale. Bryan Reynolds will receive a day off from playing the outfield and will replace McCutchen at designated hitter.

Oneil Cruz CF | PIT
Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Moved down to fifth in order
Cruz will start in center field and bat fifth in Wednesday's contest versus the Brewers.
Cruz was removed from Tuesday's 9-3 loss in the seventh inning due to what Pirates interim manager Don Kelly deemed a lack of effort in running out a double-play grounder. While Cruz is back in the lineup a day later, he has been demoted from the leadoff spot to the No. 5 spot, which is the lowest in the order he's hit this season. Cruz is slashing only .156/.258/.221 with a 34.8 percent strikeout rate in June.

Randal Grichuk DH | CHW
Diamondbacks' Randal Grichuk: Stepping out of lineup
Grichuk is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the White Sox.
Grichuk will get a breather for the day game after he had started in each of the last seven games -- five in right field, two at designated hitter -- while going 6-for-25 with two extra-base knocks, one walk, four RBI and five runs. With Corbin Carroll (wrist) on the injured list, Grichuk and the left-handed-hitting Jake McCarthy could end up settling into a platoon in right field, though McCarthy (.246 OPS in 51 plate appearances in the majors this season) may need to raise his performance before he emerges as the preferred option against right-handed pitching.
