Jose Iglesias SS | SD
Padres' Jose Iglesias: Absent from starting nine
Iglesias is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Reds.
Iglesias had made three consecutive starts -- two at shortstop, one at second base -- but he'll take a seat Friday. Trenton Brooks will DH while Jake Cronenworth and Xander Bogaerts man second base and shortstop, respectively.

Casey Schmitt LF | SF
Giants' Casey Schmitt: On bench Friday
Schmitt (wrist) is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the White Sox, Justice delos Santos of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
The 26-year-old was diagnosed with a bone bruise as a CT scan came back clean after Schmitt was hit by a pitch on the wrist Wednesday, though Schmitt said that "it's pretty messed up in there." He's been filling in as San Francisco's primary third baseman with Matt Chapman (hand) on the shelf, but Schmitt is now in danger of missing some time himself.

Jake Fraley RF | TB
Reds' Jake Fraley: Dealing with partial labral tear
Fraley, who was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday, said he's dealing with a partial tear of the labrum in his shoulder, and he's awaiting a third opinion from a doctor before his recovery program is determined, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.
The 30-year-old has been managing chronic shoulder issues over the past four years, but the partial tear stems from a recent diving catch in the outfield. Fraley will be eligible to be reinstated in early July, but given the nature of the injury, he's likely to be sidelined through the All-Star break, at least.

Oneil Cruz CF | PIT
Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Held out of lineup
Cruz isn't part of the starting nine for Friday's game against the Mets.
Cruz has been struggling lately and was benched mid-game Tuesday for a lack of effort before being moved from leadoff to the fifth spot in the batting order. He also has just two hits in his last 31 at-bats and has struck out 12 times during that stretch. He'll leave center field work to Alexander Canario.

Jared Young 1B | NYM
Mets' Jared Young: Sent to Triple-A
The Mets optioned Young to Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.
With Mark Vientos (hamstring) back from the 10-day injured list, Young heads back to Triple-A. He's seen 44 plate appearances at the major-league level this season and has slashed .171/.227/.415 with three home runs, four RBI and four runs scored.

Mark Vientos 1B | NYM
Mets' Mark Vientos: Officially activated from IL
The Mets activated Vientos (hamstring) from the 10-day injured list Friday.
Vientos is in the lineup for Friday's series opener in Pittsburgh, batting sixth against Pirates right-hander Mitch Keller. Vientos has been sidelined since June 2 and is slashing an underwhelming .230/.298/.380 with six home runs, 21 RBI and 22 runs scored across 208 plate appearances this season.

Colin Poche RP | DET
Mets' Colin Poche: Joins major-league roster
The Mets selected Poche's contract from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.
Poche began the season with the Nationals but was designated for assignment in early May before quickly inking a minor-league deal with the Mets. He appeared in 12 games with Syracuse and registered a 4.26 ERA and 13:10 K:BB across 12.2 innings.

Xander Bogaerts SS | SD
Padres' Xander Bogaerts: Returns to starting nine
Bogaerts (shoulder) is batting sixth and playing shortstop Friday against Cincinnati.
The Padres scratched Bogaerts from Wednesday's lineup due to soreness in his left shoulder, but he's back in the lineup after a team day off Thursday. Bogaerts is 22-for-85 (.259) with 10 runs scored, eight RBI and a couple steals in June.

Blade Tidwell P | SF
Mets' Blade Tidwell: Back in majors
The Mets recalled Tidwell from Triple-A Syracuse on Friday.
Tidwell takes the roster spot of Griffin Canning, who's been diagnosed with a ruptured left Achilles tendon and placed on the 60-day injured list. Tidwell appears to be the likeliest option to replace Canning in the rotation until the Mets get one or more of their other injured starters back. Tidwell has made two starts this season, posting a 9.82 ERA and 6:6 K:BB across 7.1 innings of work.
