Burrows is slated to start Sunday's game against the Nationals in Washington.

After making a pair of relief appearances Aug. 30 and Sept. 3, Burrows slotted back into a starting role Tuesday against the Orioles, though the Pirates continued to manage his workload in his first full season back from April 2023 Tommy John surgery. In his start versus Baltimore, Burrows struck out six and generated 14 whiffs while permitting one run on two runs and one walk, but he was lifted after just four innings and 56 pitches. Braxton Ashcraft ended up piggybacking Burrows and covered three innings out of the bullpen, but with Ashcraft slated to start Monday's series opener versus the Cubs, Burrows could have a slightly longer leash Sunday while he makes his second straight start.

Perdomo went 1-for-2 with a walk, a home run, two RBI and an additional run scored in Friday's 9-8 loss to the Twins.

Perdomo contributed to an Arizona comeback, which eventually failed, with a two-run home run in the seventh inning. He homered for a second straight game and has six over the last 19 contests. The shortstop is having a breakout season with 19 homers and 95 RBI through 147 games.

Hoerner went 2-for-3 with a walk, a triple and two runs scored in Friday's 6-4 victory over Tampa Bay.

Hoerner extended his hitting streak to seven games, and during that time, he's tallied four multi-hit performances. Over his last 15 games, the speedy infielder is batting .339 with two home runs, three stolen bases, six RBI and 13 runs scored. Hoerner remains a useful fantasy asset due to his contact skills and ability to swipe bags.

Chandler is slated to start Saturday's game against the Nationals in Washington.

After turning in a shiny 2.25 ERA and 0.83 WHIP over 12 innings across three bulk-relief appearances to begin his time in the big leagues, Chandler was handed his first MLB start this past Sunday against the Brewers. The 22-year-old righty was handily knocked around by the NL Central leaders, lasting just 2.2 innings in a 10-2 loss while yielding nine earned runs on nine hits and three walks. Despite the wretched outing, Chandler will be deployed as a starter once again Saturday, though another poor showing could prompt the Pirates to shift him back to his prior bulk-relief role.

Buehler (8-7) earned the win Friday, allowing one run on five hits and one walk over five innings against Kansas City. He struck out three.

The veteran right-hander was assigned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley after signing with the Phillies in late August, and he delivered one of his better starts of the season in his team debut after a tumultuous run in Boston. Buehler will be part of the Phillies' six-man rotation for the final weeks of the regular season, and Friday's showing was a good step toward potentially earning a spot on the playoff roster. His 5.29 ERA and 1.54 WHIP across 117.1 innings between Boston and Philadelphia remain unsightly, however.

Ferrer picked up the save in Friday's 6-5 victory over the Pirates. He allowed two runs on three hits and one walk while striking out one over one inning.

Ferrer was called upon to protect a 6-3 lead in the ninth inning Friday, and he needed the entirety of that cushion and was fortunate to escape with the save. The bumpy performance ended a string of 14 straight scoreless appearances, though he remains 9-for-9 in save chances since taking over as Washington's closer after the trade deadline.

Lord did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing three runs on seven hits and no walks over six innings versus the Pirates. He struck out four.

After a three-start stretch in late August in which he surrendered a combined 17 earned runs, Lord has bounced back in his past two outings with a 3.09 ERA and 11:4 K:BB over 11.2 innings. The 25-year-old rookie has started in 16 of his 45 appearances for the Nationals this year and has a 4.21 ERA, 1.30 WHIP and 96:39 K:BB across 115.1 innings. His next start tentatively lines up to come versus Atlanta.

Keller did not factor into the decision Friday, allowing two runs on four hits and one walk over 5.1 innings in a 6-5 loss against Washington. He struck out four.

The right-hander appeared on his way to his seventh victory of the season with a 3-0 lead through five frames, but he was charged with a couple runs on three hits in the sixth before the Pittsburgh bullpen faltered an inning later. Keller entered the All-Star break with a 3.48 ERA across 119 innings, but he has a 5.73 ERA in 10 starts since the midseason break.

Happ went 3-for-4 with a walk, a double, a home run and an additional RBI in Friday's 6-4 victory over Tampa Bay.

The left fielder continued his strong start to September and has a .333/.435/.615 slash line with two doubles, three homers and a 7:10 BB:K through 10 contests this month. Happ struggled through most of the first half of the season but has delivered a .900 OPS in 37 games since the start of August.

Kittredge picked up the save Friday against the Rays, recording one strikeout while retiring all three batters he faced.

It's the second straight outing with a save for Kittredge, who appears to be manager Craig Counsell's top choice at closer with Daniel Palencia (shoulder) on the shelf. Brad Keller also seemed to be in the closer mix but has worked the eighth inning ahead of Kittredge in those two games.
