Tyler Phillips RP | MIA
Marlins' Tyler Phillips: Defangs D-backs for first victory
Phillips (1-1) earned the win over Arizona on Thursday, allowing two hits and issuing two walks while striking out five batters over five-plus scoreless innings.
Phillips served as a bulk reliever in his previous outing June 5, but he was deployed as a starter Thursday. The right-hander excelled in that role, limiting the Diamondbacks to just one hit through five frames. Phillips went back out for the sixth and yielded a single before being lifted at 70 pitches. Having worked out of the bullpen for most of the campaign, Phillips isn't yet up to a full starter's workload, topping out at 82 pitches in that June 5 piggyback appearance. He should be able to push his pitch count up as he settles into the rotation, and he may be worth a look for fantasy managers in need of pitching given his 2.95 ERA across 18.1 innings since moving into the rotation. His 14:8 K:BB over that span is less appealing, however.

Owen Carey OF | ATL
Braves' Owen Carey: Back from IL
Carey (heel) has gone 1-for-7 with a double and an 0:4 BB:K in two games since being reinstated from High-A Rome's 7-day injured list Tuesday.
Carey had been on the shelf for just under two months due to a heel injury before being cleared to return to the Rome lineup after completing a six-game rehab assignment in the rookie-level Florida Complex League. The 19-year-old outfielder is slashing .250/.316/.423 with one home run and one stolen base over 57 plate appearances in the South Atlantic League this season.

Jordan Lawlar LF | ARI
Diamondbacks' Jordan Lawlar: Returning Friday
The Diamondbacks will reinstate Lawlar (wrist) from the 60-day injured list ahead of Friday's game against the Reds, John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 FM reports.
Lawlar has been on the shelf since early April due to a fractured right wrist. He was cleared to begin a rehab assignment May 30 and has since gone 6-for-28 with four walks, two RBI and five runs scored over eight games. Once activated, he'll be a candidate to start in the outfield until Lourdes Gurriel (hamstring) returns from the IL.

Davidjohn Herz P | WAS
Nationals' DJ Herz: Nearly perfect through two starts
Herz (elbow) struck out four batters over three scoreless innings in his second rehab start Thursday in the rookie-level Florida Complex League.
On the comeback trail following April 2025 Tommy John surgery, Herz hasn't exhibited any signs of rust through his first two rehab starts. He's struck out eight over five scoreless frames in the FCL thus far, with the lone baserunner he's allowed reaching on a fielding error. The left-hander is expected to need the full 30-day rehab window to build up his pitch count, so he'll likely make three more starts in the minors before returning from the 60-day injured list and potentially entering the Washington rotation.

Juan Soto LF | NYM
Mets' Juan Soto: Cracks go-ahead homer
Soto went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a double and two total runs scored in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Cardinals.
Soto broke a 4-4 tie in the seventh inning with his 14th homer of the season, a 398-foot blast off a JoJo Romero two-strike sweeper. It was an encouraging day overall at the plate for Soto, who'd gone just 1-for-17 in his previous five games. Overall, he's slashing .277/.369/.537 this year with 31 RBI, 30 runs scored and six steals across 218 plate appearances.

Alec Burleson 1B | STL
Cardinals' Alec Burleson: Homers in third straight game
Burleson went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Thursday's 5-4 loss to the Mets.
With his 424-foot blast off Christian Scott in the first inning, Burleson extended his home-run streak to three games and his hit streak to 11. In those 11 contests, Burleson has gone 16-for-45 (.356) with a 1.119 OPS. He's boosted his slash line to .290/.356/.486 across 284 plate appearances this year with 11 homers, 48 RBI and 35 runs scored.

Christian Scott SP | NYM
Mets' Christian Scott: Gives up three homers Thursday
Scott did not factor into the decision in the Mets' 5-4 win over the Cardinals on Wednesday, giving up four runs on seven hits and a walk over 4.2 innings. He struck out six.
Scott struggled to keep the ball in the park Wednesday -- he surrendered four runs on three homers in the first two innings. Coming into the day, Scott had given up just one home run this season and none in his previous starts (29.2 innings) leading up to Wednesday, so the long ball isn't a major concern despite New York's power display. The right-hander now sports a 3.10 ERA with a 1.35 WHIP and 47:19 K:BB across 40.2 innings this season. Scott is tentatively lined up to face the Reds on the road in his next outing.

Devin Williams RP | NYM
Mets' Devin Williams: Locks down ninth save
Williams earned the save in Thursday's 5-4 win over the Cardinals, striking out a pair in a perfect ninth inning.
Williams made quick work of St. Louis on Wednesday to close out the Mets' one-run victory, earning his ninth save this season. After a shaky start to the year, Williams has now converted his last seven save chances while holding opponents scoreless in 14 of his last 16 appearances. Overall, Williams sports a 5.32 ERA with a 1.50 WHIP and 35:14 K:BB across 22 innings this season.

Derek Hill RF | PHI
Phillies' Derek Hill: Shipped to Philadelphia in trade
The Phillies acquired Hill and international bonus pool money from the White Sox on Thursday in exchange for Dylan Campbell and Jose Colmenares, Jeff Passan of ESPN.com reports.
Hill is effectively replacing Johan Rojas, who needs season-ending internal brace surgery on his right elbow. The right-handed-hitting Hill has a career .521 OPS versus right-handed pitching but boasts a .780 OPS against lefties. He will be used as a late-inning defensive replacement and should see occasional starts in center field against southpaws.

Chuckie Robinson C | LAD
Dodgers' Chuckie Robinson: Selected from OKC
The Dodgers selected Robinson's contract from Triple-A Oklahoma City on Thursday.
The 31-year-old will join the big club for the first time this season to make up for the loss of Will Smith, who landed on the injured list Thursday with neck inflammation. Robinson owns a .763 OPS through 84 plate appearances at Triple-A this season but isn't likely to receive many at-bats with the Dodgers while working as a backup to Dalton Rushing.
