The Mets designated Pop for assignment on Tuesday.

Mets' Junior Fernandez: Inks minors deal with Mets
The Mets signed Fernandez to a minor-league contract Tuesday.
Fernandez had been at Triple-A Omaha in the Royals organization, where he held a 4.93 ERA and 53:26 K:BB over 38.1 frames. The 28-year-old hasn't seen any action at the big-league level since 2022 but will give the Mets some experienced relief depth at Triple-A Syracuse.

Starling Marte RF | KC
Mets' Starling Marte: Lands on injured list
The Mets placed Marte on the 10-day injured list Tuesday, retroactive to July 7, due to a right knee bruise.
The veteran outfielder has been playing through the injury for a while, but the issue flared up after he started in the outfield Sunday for the fifth time all season. According to Laura Albanese of Newsday, manager Carlos Mendoza said Marte is expected to be back shortly after the All-Star break.

Tylor Megill SP | NYM
Mets' Tylor Megill: Shifted to 60-day IL
The Mets transferred Megill (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday.
Megill resumed a throwing program last week as he works his way back from a right elbow sprain, but the Mets' decision to move him to the 60-day IL means he won't be eligible to return until mid-August. The transaction clears a spot for the return of outfielder Jesse Winker (oblique) from the 60-day IL.

Jesse Winker DH | NYM
Mets' Jesse Winker: Returns from injured list
The Mets activated Winker (oblique) from the 60-day injured list Tuesday.
Winker was shelved for more than two months with a right oblique strain but is ready to roll after going 4-for-14 with a couple homers during a brief rehab assignment. The 31-year-old should be the Mets' primary designated hitter against right-handed pitching, especially with Starling Marte (knee) landing on the 10-day injured list.

Orlando Ribalta RP | WAS
Nationals' Orlando Ribalta: Starting rehab assignment
The Nationals sent Ribalta (biceps) to Double-A Harrisburg on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment, Bobby Blanco of MASNSports.com reports.
Ribalta has been sidelined since mid-April with a right biceps strain but has been cleared for rehab games following a lengthy absence. Given how long he's been out, Ribalta is likely to require a fairly long rehab assignment before being considered for reinstatement from the 15-day injured list.

Jake Fraley RF | TB
Reds' Jake Fraley: Cleared to begin rehab assignment
The Reds sent Fraley (shoulder) to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday to begin a rehab assignment.
Fraley has been sidelined since late June after being diagnosed with a partial tear of the labrum in his right shoulder. He will eventually need to undergo surgery to repair the shoulder, but for now, Fraley will attempt to play through the injury after being given a cortisone shot. Fraley isn't expected to require an extensive rehab assignment, so he might be ready to come off the 10-day injured list when the Reds begin their final series before the All-Star break Friday versus the Rockies.

Giants' Casey Schmitt: Logs RBI in return
Schmitt went 1-for-3 with an RBI and a walk in Monday's 3-1 win over the Phillies.
Schmitt returned to big-league action after being officially placed on the 10-day injured list June 30 (retroactive to June 27) due to left hand inflammation. The infielder drew a walk in the second and added a single in the sixth. The 26-year-old later grounded into a fielder's choice in the eighth, though he drove in the go-ahead run. Schmitt is now slashing .277/.365/.436 with 16 RBI, 13 runs scored and four home runs across 116 plate appearances.

Jerar Encarnacion RF | SF
Giants' Jerar Encarnacion: Progressing in recovery
Encarnacion (oblique) took batting practice at Oracle Park on Monday and will continue ramping up his hitting progression this week, per MLB.com.
Encarnacion was placed on the 10-day injured list June 17 due to a left oblique strain and isn't likely to return until after the All-Star break. The 27-year-old has struggled to stay healthy this season, having already missed over two months to start the season after undergoing surgery to repair a fractured left hand in mid-March. Encarnacion has made only 22 plate appearances in 2025, slashing .136/.136/.182 with a double, a run scored and a stolen base during that span.

Christian Koss 2B | SF
Giants' Christian Koss: To be re-evaluated after break
Koss (hamstring) is set to resume baseball activities this week and be re-evaluated after the All-Star break, per MLB.com.
Koss was placed on the 10-day injured list July 1 due to a left hamstring strain. The 27-year-old infielder will use the All-Star break to continue his recovery before the Giants determine his next steps, though his return to baseball activities is an encouraging sign. Koss has been effective in a reserve role for the Giants, slashing .265/.305/.357 with 12 runs scored, 12 RBI, two home runs and two stolen bases across 108 plate appearances.
