Forbes has not pitched for High-A Hillsboro since June 27 due to elbow discomfort, Nick Piecoro of the Arizona Republic reports.

As of July 5, the organization said it was hopeful Forbes would return in July, but given he missed the first eight weeks of the season with a right elbow flexor injury and also had a flexor strain last year, there is plenty of cause for concern. Prior to this latest arm injury, Forbes dominated the competition to the tune of a 2.45 ERA, 0.68 WHIP and 20:2 K:BB in 14.2 innings, primarily at High-A. His fastball sits in the mid-90s and his dastardly 83-mph slider gives him a second plus pitch. He should be considered out indefinitely and is at high risk of needing elbow surgery sooner than later.

Blanco (hamstring) began a rehab assignment in the Florida Complex League on July 17.

Per Mark Chiarelli of Baseball America, Blanco suffered a hamstring injury June 20. He also missed the first half of 2025 with a hamstring injury. Nagging muscle injuries aside, Blanco has arguably the most raw power in the minors and slashed .237/.319/.500 with 12 home runs, a 10 percent walk rate and a 29 percent strikeout rate in 49 games at High-A Greensboro.

Cabada hasn't played in the Arizona Complex League since May 23 due to a lower-body injury, Geoff Pontes of Baseball America reports.

A 5-foot-9 infielder who turned 18 in April, Cabada slashed .283/.387/.434 with two home runs and two steals in 14 games before suffering the injury.

Single-A Myrtle Beach placed Reid on the 7-day injured list in mid-June with a right shoulder impingement, Geoff Pontes of Baseball America reports.

Reid, who most recently gave up five earned runs while walking four batters over 1.1 innings June 12 against Augusta, has a 4.17 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 50:20 K:BB in 49.2 innings at Single-A. The 2025 third-rounder turns 23 this offseason, so he'll be a little behind schedule if he can't reach High-A before season's end.

Cornelio (1-1) picked up the win Monday, walking two batters over 1.2 no-hit, scoreless relief innings in a victory over the Rockies. He didn't record a strikeout.

It was the 26-year-old's first career win in his eighth appearance. Control continues to elude Cornelio for the most part, as he has a 17:15 K:BB through 16.1 innings with a 6.06 ERA and 1.90 WHIP, and he'll remain in a low-leverage role as long as that continues.

Mead went 3-for-5 with a double and a run scored in Monday's win over the Rockies.

The Nationals cranked out 12 hits in total, including five extra-base hits, to kick off the Coors Field series, and Mead's three knocks led the way. The 25-year-old infielder has seven multi-hit performances through 13 games in July, slashing .431/.500/.765 on the month with 10 of his 22 hits (six doubles, one triple, three homers) going for extra bases.

Double-A Reading placed DeMartini on the 7-day injured list May 7 with a sprained left wrist, Josh Norris of Baseball America reports.

The 23-year-old third baseman slashed .274/.361/.432 with four home runs, six steals, a 24.1 percent strikeout rate and a 108 wRC+ in 24 games prior to the injury. DeMartini was well below league average (68 wRC+) in 66 games at Double-A in 2025.

Double-A Reading placed Nori on the 7-day injured list June 9 with a lower-body injury, Josh Norris of Baseball America reports.

Nori entered the year as one of the Phillies' better upper-level position player prospects, but he struggled prior to the injury. The 21-year-old outfielder slashed .245/.306/.361 with two home runs, 12 steals and a 73 wRC+ in 52 games for the Fightin Phils.

Abrams went 1-for-5 with a two-run home run in Monday's win over the Rockies.

The Nationals kicked off a Coors Field series in style with three long balls, and Abrams launched the third of them by taking Antonio Senzatela deep in the seventh inning. Abrams has left the yard in back-to-back contests, and through 13 games in July he's produced a .288/.322/.577 slash line with four of his 22 homers on the season, along with three doubles, two steals, seven runs and 12 RBI.

Single-A St. Lucie activated Guzman (quad) from the 7-day injured list July 17.

Per Matt Eddy of Baseball America, Guzman strained his quad on June 5. The younger brother of former big-leaguer Ronald Guzman, Randy boasts monster raw power, registering a 117.6 mph max exit velocity and 91-mph average exit velocity. At 21, Guzman is a little old for Single-A, but he is slashing .263/.365/.484 with 10 home runs and a 26.9 percent strikeout rate in 53 games. He has started 26 games at first base and 23 games in the outfield corners while at Single-A this season.
