The Marlins optioned Tarnok to Triple-A Jacksonville on Monday.

Tarnok was with the big club over the weekend while Luke Bachar was on paternity leave, but Bachar has now returned to the Marlins to reclaim his spot in the bullpen. The right-handed Tarnok didn't make an appearance during his brief stint in the majors.

The Marlins activated Bachar (personal) from the paternity list Monday.

Bachar was away for the weekend series in Milwaukee to tend to more important matters but will rejoin the Marlins bullpen ahead of their series in St. Louis. Freddy Tarnok was sent down to Triple-A Jacksonville in a corresponding move.

Alexander is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.

The right-handed-hitting Alexander started in seven consecutive games from July 13 through last Wednesday, but he'll likely be relegated to a short-side platoon role moving forward. He'll hit the bench Monday for the third time in the last four games, with his lone start during that stretch coming Saturday against Pirates southpaw Andrew Heaney.

McCarthy is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Tigers.

The left-handed-hitting McCarthy had been included in the lineup in each of Arizona's last three games against right-handed starting pitchers, but his playing time could be more limited moving forward after the Diamondbacks welcomed Alek Thomas back from the bereavement list Sunday. In Monday's matchup with Tigers righty Troy Melton, Thomas will join an outfield that includes Corbin Carroll and Lourdes Gurriel, while Adrian Del Castillo will get the nod at designated hitter over McCarthy.

The Brewers returned Zastryzny from his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville on Monday after he suffered a setback in his recovery from a rib injury, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

Zastryzny made two rehab appearances with Nashville, yielding a total of four runs on four hits and two walks over 1.2 innings. The lefty has been out since late June with a rib stress reaction, and his return from the 15-day injured list doesn't appear to be imminent after he was unable to complete the rehab assignment. He's scheduled to undergo further imaging on his rib before the Brewers determine his next steps.

The Brewers recalled Yoho from Triple-A Nashville on Monday.

Yoho has permitted seven runs with a 5:7 K:BB over seven innings so far at the big-league level this season. However, the 25-year-old has given up only three earned runs all season at Nashville and remains one of the team's more promising young relief prospects. Yoho will be used in low-leverage situations for now.

Fraley is not in the lineup for Monday's game against the Dodgers.

Fraley and Will Benson have split right-field duties over the last four contests. The Reds will go with Benson in right and will slot him eighth in the batting order after Fraley handled the position in the previous two games.

Conforto went 3-for-4 with a solo home run, two doubles and a walk in Sunday's loss to the Red Sox.

It's been a rough campaign for Conforto, who is still batting just .194 following Sunday's big effort. It was nonetheless a positive performance by the veteran outfielder, who notched three of Los Angeles' four extra-base hits and belted a long 424-foot solo shot in the fourth inning. There's been some talk of the Dodgers seeking an outfielder as the trade deadline approaches; if such a deal were to happen, Conforto's starting role could be in jeopardy.

Fernandez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians.

The left-handed-hitting Fernandez had started in both of the Rockies' previous two matchups with right-handed pitchers, but he'll take a seat against Guardians righty Slade Cecconi while Colorado reinserts Brenton Doyle in the lineup following a four-game hiatus. Though the Rockies have been opening up more opportunities for Fernandez of late, he hasn't yet fully seized control of an everyday role just yet. Since getting called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on July 1, the 22-year-old is slashing .213/.229/.255 with a 2.1 percent walk rate and 29.2 percent strikeout rate over 48 plate appearances.

Tovar is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Guardians.

Orlando Arcia will get the nod at shortstop while Tovar retreats to the bench in what appears to be a routine day off for the series opener in Cleveland. Tovar had started in each of the Rockies' previous six games, going 4-for-20 with two solo home runs, two walks and two additional runs.
