Diego Cartaya C | SF
Giants' Diego Cartaya: Gets MiLB pact from Giants
The Giants signed Cartaya to a minor-league contract Monday, Daniel Alvarez-Montes of ElExtraBase.com reports.
Cartaya was released by the Twins last week after going 5-for-59 with 40 strikeouts at Triple-A St. Paul. He's a former top prospect and still just 23, so the Giants felt Cartaya warranted a look on a minor-league pact.

Brenton Doyle CF | COL
Rockies' Brenton Doyle: Returns from sore shoulder
Doyle started in center field and went 1-for-3 with a run scored in Monday's 8-6 win over the Guardians.
Doyle was back in the lineup for the first time since last Tuesday, and though the Rockies hadn't provided an explanation for his absence, the outfielder had been nursing a sore right shoulder, according to Thomas Harding of MLB.com. The shoulder injury disrupted what had been one of the more productive stretches of the season for Doyle -- he had gone 7-for-13 with two runs, one RBI and one steal in his first four starts of the second half -- but he was able to make some positive contributions in Monday's series opener. In addition to reaching on a bunt single in the top of the third, Doyle plated the game-tying run on a sacrifice bunt in the top of the ninth and reached base on a throwing error. He then came around to score the go-ahead run on Tyler Freeman's one-out base hit.

Ryan Cusick RP | PHI
Phillies' Ryan Cusick: Remains in organization
The Phillies outrighted Cusick to Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Monday.
Cusick passed through waivers after being booted off the Phillies' 40-man roster and will remain in the organization. The right-hander has yet to see any action in the majors and has allowed 21 runs over 21.2 innings at the Triple-A level in 2025.

Dylan Lee RP | ATL
Braves' Dylan Lee: July struggles continue
Lee struck out one and gave up a solo home run to Randal Grichuk in the eighth inning of Monday's win over the Royals.
Taking the mound with Atlanta ahead 9-3, Lee saw his second pitch of the frame sail over the left-field wall. The southpaw has had a tough time keeping the ball in the yard of late, and through 11 appearances in July he's stumbled to a 7.00 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 11:2 K:BB while serving up three homers in nine innings. With Raisel Iglesias a prime candidate to get shipped out at the trade deadline though, Lee could still find himself in the mix for saves in August alongside Pierce Johnson.

Pierce Johnson RP | CIN
Braves' Pierce Johnson: Collects ninth hold
Johnson struck out one in a perfect sixth inning Monday to record his ninth hold of the season in a win over the Royals.
The right-hander continues to provide Atlanta with reliable high-leverage innings. Over his last 15 appearances, Johnson has been scored upon only once, delivering a 0.59 ERA, 0.78 WHIP and 17:3 K:BB in 15.1 innings. With Raisel Iglesias a prime candidate to get shipped out at the trade deadline, Johnson could be in the mix for saves in August alongside Dylan Lee.

Marcell Ozuna DH | PIT
Braves' Marcell Ozuna: Clubs 14th homer
Ozuna went 1-for-3 with two walks and a two-run home run in Monday's win over the Royals.
The 34-year-old slugger put Atlanta in the lead for good with his fourth-inning shot off Rich Hill. It was Ozuna's 14th homer of the year and third in his last 10 games, but it might also end up being his last for the team with the trade deadline looming. Despite the recent uptick in power, Ozuna still hasn't rediscovered the form that saw him post a .916 OPS over the prior two seasons -- he has only one other hit over that 10-game stretch, and through 404 plate appearances in 2025 he's slashing just .233/.361/.393.

Isiah Kiner-Falefa 2B | BOS
Pirates' Isiah Kiner-Falefa: Knocks in two
Kiner-Falefa went 1-for-4 with a double, two RBI and a run scored Monday against the Giants.
Kiner-Falefa narrowly missed a home run on a fly ball to center field in the second inning, though he still managed to drive in two after it bounced off the wall. Like many of the Pirates' regulars, he has struggled to produce much at the plate in July, going just 15-for-66 with six RBI and four runs scored across 21 games. Kiner-Falefa is also a trade candidate, so he may begin to lose out on playing time if he is dealt to a contender.

Will Benson RF | CIN
Reds' Will Benson: Knocks in run in loss
Benson went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Dodgers.
Benson's ninth-inning single produced the final run of the game, giving him an RBI in his last two contests. His playing time has dropped off significantly since the return of Jake Fraley; Benson's started just three of 10 games since the Reds returned from the All-Star break. He's batting .178 (24-for-135) over the last 46 contests.

Nick Gonzales 3B | PIT
Pirates' Nick Gonzales: Smacks fifth homer
Gonzales went 2-for-5 with a solo home run Monday against the Giants.
Gonzales got the Pirates on the board in the first inning with his fifth home run of the season and second of July. He has only five extra-base hits with five RBI and eight runs scored across 20 games in the month while going 15-for-75. Nevertheless, he's hit fourth or higher in the Pittsburgh order for the vast majority of games since being activated from the injured list June 4.

Elly De La Cruz SS | CIN
Reds' Elly De La Cruz: Swipes bag in loss
De La Cruz went 1-for-3 with a walk and a stolen base in Monday's 5-2 loss to the Dodgers.
De La Cruz didn't have a role in either of Cincinnati's runs, but he managed to steal his 29th base of the season. That puts him on the verge of a third consecutive season with 30-plus steals. He led the majors in 2024 with 67 steals.
