  • Austin Gomber SP | TEX

Rockies' Austin Gomber: Yields two homers in no-decision

Gomber allowed four runs (three earned) on five hits and one walk while striking out five across five innings during Saturday's game against the Pirates. He did not factor into the decision.

All four of the runs Gomber gave up came courtesy of two homers by Liover Peguero in the first and fourth frames. Gomber managed to limit the other Pittsburgh hitters and avoided a fifth straight loss after the Rockies came alive with six runs in the sixth. The southpaw has struggled since being returning from a left shoulder injury in June, and he sits at a 6.18 ERA, 1.60 WHIP and 27:11 K:BB across 43.2 innings this season. Gomber's slated to start against the Diamondbacks on the road next weekend, when he'll aim to earn his first win of 2025.

  • Orlando Arcia SS | MIN

Rockies' Orlando Arcia: Hits third homer of 2025

Arcia went 1-for-4 with a home run and two RBI in Saturday's 8-5 win over Pittsburgh.

After bringing home a run on a groundout in the sixth frame, Arcia gave the Rockies an 8-4 lead in the eighth with a solo shot off Genesis Cabrera to left-center field. It was just the third home run of the season for Arcia, with his last taking place June 29 against the Brewers. He has recorded a hit in each of his last five starts, going 5-for-18 (.278) over that span.

  • Rockies' Warming Bernabel: Another multi-hit game

Bernabel went 3-for-4 with two doubles and a run in Saturday's 8-5 win over the Pirates.

His sixth-inning double was enough to chase Paul Skenes from the game, and Bernabel was brought home two batters later on a Brenton Doyle single. The 23-year-old is off to a fantastic start to his major-league career, going 14-for-28 (.500) with four doubles, one triple, five runs, three home runs and seven RBI in seven games.

  • Jordan Beck LF | COL

Rockies' Jordan Beck: Belts three-run homer

Beck went 2-for-3 with a walk, a steal and a three-run homer during Saturday's 8-5 win over the Pirates.

Beck ended Paul Skenes' shutout bid in the sixth inning with a blast to right-center field. Beck has recorded at least two hits in six of 14 games since the All-Star break, and over that span he has gone 19-for-51 (.373) with two steals, three home runs and nine RBI.

  • Paul Skenes SP | PIT

Pirates' Paul Skenes: Punches out eight in no-decision

Skenes did not factor into the decision in Saturday's game against Colorado, allowing four runs on five hits and two walks while striking out eight across five innings.

It looked like it was going to be another dominant outing for Skenes, who kept the Rockies off the board through the first five frames. He was brought back out for the sixth, but his shutout bid came to an end when he yielded a three-run homer to Jordan Beck and was tagged for another run after being pulled for Braxton Ashcraft. Skenes ended the contest with 18 whiffs on 94 pitches (58 strikes), and he has recorded at least six strikeouts in five consecutive starts. Even with the late collapse, he still leads the majors with a 2.02 ERA, and he also sports top-10 marks among qualified starters with a 0.92 WHIP (third) and 154 strikeouts (seventh) across 138 innings. Skenes is slated to make his next start against the Reds at home next week.

  • Liover Peguero SS | PIT

Pirates' Liover Peguero: Smacks three homers in loss

Peguero went 3-for-5 with three home runs and five RBI during Saturday's 8-5 loss to the Rockies.

Peguero supplied all of the runs for the Pirates on Saturday, and he did so in a big way. He followed up a leadoff homer with a a three-run blast to left field in the fifth to give Pittsburgh a 4-0 lead, and he capped off his big night with a solo shot with two outs in the ninth. Peguero extended his hitting streak to five games, during which he's gone 7-for-19 (.368) with one steal, four long balls and seven RBI. Though he lacks a direct path to an everyday role at the moment, Peguero is capable of playing all over the infield and could earn steadier at-bats as a result of Saturday's breakout performance.

  • Marlins' Agustin Ramirez: Powers offense with two homers

Ramirez went 2-for-4 with two solo home runs Saturday in a 2-0 win against the Yankees.

Ramirez provided all the offense in the contest, smashing a solo homer in the first and fourth frames. The first-year backstop is making a serious case for Rookie of the Year consideration, slashing .244/.289/.471 with 17 home runs, 48 runs, 50 RBI and five stolen bases through 85 games. Among major-league rookies, only Nick Kurtz has more homers (23) or RBI (50) than Ramirez.

  • Calvin Faucher RP | MIA

Marlins' Calvin Faucher: Notches 11th save

Faucher earned a save against the Yankees on Saturday, striking out one batter in a perfect inning of work.

The Marlins led 2-0 when Faucher entered in the ninth frame, and he preserved the shutout by retiring the side in order on 12 pitches. Miami's bullpen hierarchy has been difficult to nail down for much of the season, but it appears Faucher could be settling into the closer role -- he's picked up three of the team's past four saves, with the only save that went to another pitcher during that span being a four-inning conversion by Tyler Phillips. Faucher has earned the confidence of manager Clayton McCullough by giving up just two runs over 10.2 frames while posting a 13:4 K:BB across 10 appearances since the start of July.

  • Eury Perez SP | MIA

Marlins' Eury Perez: Excellent again Saturday

Perez (4-3) notched the win against the Yankees on Saturday, allowing two hits and issuing three walks while striking out five batters over six scoreless innings.

Perez racked up 13 whiffs and five punchouts while keeping the Yankees from crossing the plate. The right-hander recorded his third quality start of the campaign, and this was also just the third time he's completed six innings through 10 outings. Perez has been on a roll of late -- over his past six appearances, he's posted a sterling 1.06 ERA with a 37:8 K:BB across 34 frames. He'll carry a strong 2.70 overall ERA into his next start, which is slated to come in Atlanta next week.

  • Diamondbacks' Lourdes Gurriel: Drives in two in win

Gurriel went 1-for-5 with two RBI and one stolen base in Saturday's 7-2 win over the Athletics.

Gurriel provided the go-ahead hit in the fifth inning, a two-run single. The outfielder also logged his eighth steal of the year, which was his first successful theft since June 24 versus the White Sox. The 31-year-old is now at a .247/.296/.402 slash line with 12 home runs, 50 RBI, 35 runs scored, 21 doubles and two triples through 101 contests.
