  • White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Opening Thursday's game

Hudson will serve as the opening pitcher in Thursday's game versus the Yankees. The left-hander will get an inning or two before turning things over to bulk reliever Sean Burke. Hudson has struggled so far in June, getting scored upon in three of five appearances.

  • White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Opening Sunday's contest

Hudson is slated to serve as the White Sox's opener in front of bulk reliever Erick Fedde in Sunday's game against the Dodgers, James Fegan of SoxMachine.com reports. Hudson will be deployed as an opener for the fourth time this season, with his most recent such assignment having come May 23 against the Giants. The left-hander is expected to work an inning or two before Fedde takes over.

  • White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Picks up third save Wednesday

Hudson earned the save Wednesday against Atlanta, allowing a walk and no hits with no strikeouts in a scoreless ninth inning. After Chicago leaned heavily on its bullpen Tuesday, Hudson was asked to handle the ninth inning Wednesday and protect a one-run lead. The left-hander worked around a one-out walk to Eli White and successfully closed out the victory for his third save of the season. The save comes on the heels of a rare rough patch, as Hudson had allowed multiple runs in back-to-back appearances after holding opponents scoreless in 26 of his previous 27 outings. Despite those recent hiccups, he still owns a strong 2.32 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 28:14 K:BB across 31 innings and should continue to operate as a setup man for Chicago.

  • White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Earns win in relief Friday

Hudson (3-1) earned the win in relief in Friday's extra-inning win over the Tigers. He allowed an unearned run and struck out one over one inning of work. Hudson pitched the 10th inning and saw the Tigers grab the lead when Matt Vierling scored on a sac fly from Rikuu Nishida. However, Hudson earned the win after the White Sox stormed back with a walk-off homer from Miguel Vargas in the bottom of the frame. Hudson has gone six straight outings without allowing an earned run, and he's given up just three runs (two earned) across 13.1 innings this month, a span in which he has a 1.35 ERA with an outstanding 0.90 WHIP.

  • White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Slated to open Saturday's contest

Hudson will serve as the White Sox's opening pitcher for Saturday's game against the Giants, LaMond Pope of the Chicago Tribune reports. The White Sox haven't officially named a bulk reliever for Saturday's contest, but Erick Fedde had been on turn to start and is the most likely option to cover multiple innings out of the bullpen once Hudson exits the game. Hudson previously served as an opener on April 24 and April 26 versus the Nationals, covering an inning apiece in both of those contests. Expect the lefty to be limited to a one-inning appearance once again Saturday.

  • White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Notches save Monday

Hudson earned a save against the Angels on Monday by retiring the only batter he faced. Chicago trailed for most of the game before making a late comeback. With a three-run lead heading into the ninth inning, manager Will Venable didn't summon regular closer Seranthony Dominguez, who pitched three of the previous four days. Instead, Venable went with Grant Taylor, who was the victim of an inning-opening error behind him and who then gave up a pair of runs while retiring just two batters. With runners on second and third, two outs and Chicago hanging onto a one-run lead, Hudson was called upon to escape the jam, and he was able to do so by retiring Adam Frazier on a groundout. Hudson has had a good season with a 1.38 ERA and 16:8 K:BB through 13 innings, but Dominguez should get the bulk of the team's save opportunities moving forward.

  • White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Claimed by ChiSox

The White Sox claimed Hudson off waivers from the Mets on Friday. Hudson was designated for assignment Wednesday, and he'll return to the White Sox, with whom he spent the tail end of the 2025 campaign. The southpaw has no minor-league options remaining, so he'll claim a spot on the 26-man active roster. Hudson appeared in 16 MLB games last season between Chicago and Milwaukee, posting a 4.80 ERA and 19:13 K:BB across 15 innings.

  • Mets' Bryan Hudson: Could claim final bullpen spot

Hudson may be the favorite to claim the final spot in the Mets' Opening Day bullpen, Tim Britton and Will Sammon of The Athletic report. Craig Kimbrel appears to be his biggest competitor for the job, with Austin Warren and Richard Lovelady also in the mix. Hudson struggled in 2025 between the Brewers and White Sox, in both the majors and at Triple-A, but the 28-year-old southpaw blamed some tinkering with his mechanics and pitch mix that went awry. "I was working on some delivery stuff and changing some things I really shouldn't change," Hudson said Monday. "So we're getting back to the basics this year to get back after it." In 2024 with Milwaukee, when his cutter was a bigger part of his arsenal, he posted a 1.73 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 62:17 K:BB over 62.1 innings.

  • Mets' Bryan Hudson: Traded to Mets

The Mets acquired Hudson from the White Sox on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations, Joel Sherman of the New York Post reports. Hudson had been designated for assignment last week. The big left-hander spent much of 2025 in the minors and posted a 4.80 ERA and 19:13 K:BB over 15 frames during his time at the big-league level. However, he held a 1.73 ERA and 0.72 WHIP in 2024, so the Mets will try to coax that level of performance out of Hudson again.

  • White Sox's Bryan Hudson: DFA'd by ChiSox

The White Sox designated Hudson for assignment Wednesday. The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for Austin Hays, whose signing was made official Wednesday. Hudson was a key reliever for the Brewers in 2024, but he regressed in 2025, spending much of the year in the minors and collecting a 4.80 ERA and 19:13 K:BB over 15 frames during his time at the big-league level. The 6-foot-8 lefty doesn't have minor-league options remaining, but his 1.73 ERA and 0.72 WHIP from 2024 could be enough to garner some interest on the waiver wire.

  • White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Brought up to big leagues

The White Sox recalled Hudson from Triple-A Charlotte on Tuesday. Hudson was claimed off waivers from the Brewers on Sunday and will join the big-league roster before making an appearance with Charlotte. The big lefty was a standout in the Milwaukee bullpen in 2024, but he has a 4.35 ERA and 13:12 K:BB over 10.1 innings in the majors and a 6.84 ERA at the Triple-A level in 2025.

  • White Sox's Bryan Hudson: Claimed by White Sox

The White Sox claimed Hudson off waivers from the Brewers and optioned him to Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday. The left-hander was designated for assignment by Milwaukee on Thursday but was quickly able to find a home on another organization's 40-man roster. Hudson was a key bullpen piece in 2024 with a 1.73 ERA, 0.72 WHIP and 62:17 K:BB across 62.1 innings, but he had a 4.35 ERA in 12 big-league appearances and struggled to a 6.84 ERA at the Triple-A level so far in 2025.

  • Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Left off wild-card roster

Hudson is not on the Brewers' roster for the National League Wild Card Series against the Mets, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Hudson was one of the Brewers' best relievers this season, collecting a 1.73 ERA and 62:17 K:BB over 62.1 innings, but he was sent down to Triple-A Nashville in early September after his velocity dipped. The lefty allowed one run with a 10:0 K:BB across 5.2 frames at Nashville, but the team evidently still wasn't convinced he was ready to help during the first round of the playoffs.

  • Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Sent down to minors

The Brewers optioned Hudson to Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports. The move looks odd on the surface, as Hudson boasts a 1.73 ERA and 62:17 K:BB over 62.1 innings this season and had turned in four straight scoreless appearances. However, his velocity has been trending in the wrong direction and the Brewers want to see him get that ticked back up in a less pressurized environment.

  • Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Activated from injured list

The Brewers activated Hudson (oblique) from the 15-day injured list Monday. Hudson wound up missing just a couple weeks of action with a strained left oblique. The left-handed reliever has been quite a find in the Brewers bullpen this season with a 1.60 ERA and 54 strikeouts in 50.2 innings. He'll return to a high-leverage role now that he's healthy again.

  • Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Placed on injured list

The Brewers placed Hudson on the 15-day injured list Saturday with a left oblique strain. Hudson has been a key piece for the Brewers this season, posting a 1.60 ERA with 54 strikeouts in 50.2 innings out of the bullpen. However, he'll be forced to miss at least two weeks with a strained oblique. Tyler Jay was recalled from Triple-A Nashville in a corresponding move.

  • Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Collects third win

Hudson (3-0) picked up the win Monday against the Cubs. He pitched two scoreless innings with three strikeouts, allowing one hit and no walks. Hudson entered the seventh after Brewers starter Robert Gasser allowed consecutive singles to Seiya Suzuki and Cody Bellinger to begin the inning. The lefty reliever worked himself out of the jam, fanning two batters and inducing one popup. Hudson has been a stalwart in the Milwaukee bullpen, becoming manager Pat Murphy's most dependable southpaw, firing a 0.59 ERA, 0.73 WHIP and 36:7 K:BB over 30.1 innings this season.

  • Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Earns second win

Hudson (2-0) earned the win Wednesday over the Pirates, allowing one hit over 1.2 scoreless innings. He struck out one. Hudson has now earned wins in his last two appearances as he continues to impress early in the year. The left-hander has allowed just one run over 13.1 innings while posting an impressive 0.60 WHIP and 13:2 K:BB. Hudson made six appearances with the Dodgers last season, working to a 7.27 ERA over 8.2 innings.

  • Brewers' Bryan Hudson: Claims Opening Day bullpen spot

The Brewers informed Hudson on Monday that he'll be included on the Opening Day roster, Curt Hogg of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel reports. Hudson has two minor-league options remaining, but he did enough in spring training to solidify his spot in the Brewers' Opening Day bullpen. After being acquired from the Dodgers in January, Hudson looked like one of Milwaukee's more dominant arms in the Cactus League, as he racked up 19 strikeouts against five walks over 12.2 innings while sporting a 3.55 ERA that was inflated by a .438 BABIP. With Devin Williams (back) likely to open the season on the 60-day injured list, the Brewers' closing situation is wide open, but Abner Uribe, Joel Payamps and Trevor Megill look to be the early frontrunners to enter the mix for saves. However, Hudson could eventually work his way into the late-inning picture if he's able to carry over his spring success to the regular season.

  • Dodgers' Bryan Hudson: Designated for assignment

The Dodgers designated Hudson for assignment Wednesday, Mike DiGiovanna of the Los Angeles Timesreports. Hudson made six big-league appearances last season and surrendered seven earned runs with a 7:4 K:BB across 8.2 innings. The left-hander pitched much better at Triple-A Oklahoma City with a 2.43 ERA in 46 outings, and he's likely to begin 2024 with the affiliate, assuming he passes through waivers unclaimed.
