Reds' Miguel Andujar: Hits grand slam in rout
Andujar went 2-for-4 with a grand slam in Wednesday's 8-0 win over the Phillies.
The 30-year-old doubled the Reds' lead with a grand slam off Jordan Romano in the seventh inning, effectively putting the game out of reach. Andujar has gone deep three times in the past four days and is riding a six-game hitting streak that's produced eight RBI and five runs scored. For the season, he's slashing .306/.346/.473 with nine homers, 35 RBI, 29 runs scored and one steal across 245 plate appearances.

Brewers' William Contreras: Drives in four against Bucs
Contreras went 2-for-3 with two walks and four RBI in Wednesday's 12-5 win over the Pirates.
Both knocks were singles but Contreras did plenty of damage with them, driving in runs in the fourth and sixth innings before drawing a bases-loaded walk in the seventh. The star backstop has at least one RBI in five straight games and multi-hit performances in four straight, and over 24 contests since the All-Star break, he's batting .323 (31-for-96) with five doubles, six homers, 19 runs and 22 RBI.

Padres' Nick Pivetta: Rebounds vs. Giants
Pivetta (12-4) earned the win Wednesday over San Francisco, allowing a run on four hits and a walk across 6.2 innings. He struck out five.
It was a nice bounce-back effort from Pivetta after he allowed five runs in a loss to the Red Sox his last time out. Even with the hiccup in his previous outing, Pivetta's been excellent of late, posting a 1.72 ERA over his last nine starts (57.1 innings). Overall, the right-hander's ERA sits at 2.87 with a 0.95 WHIP and 144:36 K:BB across 24 starts (141.1 innings) this season. Pivetta is currently scheduled to face the Giants again at home in his next turn.

Reds' Austin Hays: Doubles, scores twice in rout
Hays went 1-for-3 with a double, a walk, one RBI and two runs scored in Wednesday's 8-0 win over the Phillies.
Hays scored the game's first run in the fourth inning before sparking a three-run sixth with an RBI double. It was a much-needed effort for the 30-year-old, who entered the day just 3-for-33 with a 2:12 BB:K through nine August contests. He's slashing .253/.315/.441 with 10 homers, 45 RBI, 46 runs scored and four steals across 289 plate appearances this season and appears to be in a timeshare unless he can deliver more consistent production.

Brewers' Sal Frelick: Crosses plate four times in rout
Frelick went 2-for-3 with two walks, a double, four runs scored, two RBI and a stolen base in Wednesday's 12-5 win over the Pirates.
It was another stellar performance from the leadoff spot for Frelick, who has crossed the plate seven times in the last two games from the top of the Brewers' order. The 25-year-old outfielder has had some trouble staying on the field since the All-Star break due to multiple lower-body issues, but he's been locked in when he has been in the lineup -- over his last 12 games dating back to July 26, Frelick's batting .317 (13-for-41) with two doubles, three homers, one steal, eight RBI and 11 runs.

Phillies' Cristopher Sanchez: Logs quality start in loss
Sanchez (11-4) took the loss against the Reds on Wednesday, allowing four runs (three earned) on seven hits and one walk with six strikeouts over six innings.
Sanchez was mostly undone by a three-run sixth inning that featured some shaky defense, including his own error. The southpaw still notched his third straight quality start and has now completed at least six frames in 13 consecutive outings. He owns a 2.45 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and 157:36 K:BB across 150.2 innings and lines up for a home matchup with the Mariners early next week.

Brewers' Brandon Woodruff: On pitch count Wednesday
Woodruff came away with a no-decision in Wednesday's 12-5 win over the Pirates, allowing four hits and two walks over four scoreless innings. He struck out four.
The right-hander was cruising through 65 pitches (40 strikes), but per Adam McCalvy of MLB.com, manager Pat Murphy indicated after the game that Woodruff's short outing was planned in advance as he was making his first start of the year on four days rest. Woodruff hasn't looked like he needs much babying since coming off the IL and making his 2025 debut in early July, posting a 2.06 ERA, 0.74 WHIP and 49:8 K:BB through 39.1 innings over seven starts. He should be given enough leash to qualify for a win in his next trip to the mound, which lines up to come on the road early next week against the Cubs.

Reds' Hunter Greene: Dominant in return
Greene (5-3) earned the win against the Phillies on Wednesday, allowing three hits and no walks while striking out six over six scoreless innings .
Greene made a smooth return from a groin injury in his first start since June 3, throwing 58 of 85 pitches for strikes and generating 16 whiffs. The 26-year-old has now allowed two earned runs or fewer in 11 of 12 outings this season while posting six quality starts. He'll take a 2.47 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 79:14 K:BB across 65.2 innings into a road matchup with the Angels early next week.

Pirates' Bryan Reynolds: Goes yard twice in loss
Reynolds went 3-for-4 with a walk, two home runs and five RBI in Wednesday's 12-5 loss to the Brewers.
The veteran outfielder provided all the offense for the Bucs, taking Shelby Miller deep for a three-run shot in the fifth inning before launching a two-run homer off Nick Mears in the sixth. Reynolds has caught fire in August, batting .367 (18-for-49) through the first 13 games of the month with four doubles, a triple, three home runs, six runs and 10 RBI.

Pirates' Mitch Keller: Can't slow down Brew Crew
Keller (5-11) took the loss Wednesday, surrendering six runs on eight hits and two walks over four innings as the Pirates were downed 12-5 by the Brewers. He struck out five.
The right-hander couldn't stop Milwaukee from winning its 12th straight game, getting tagged for more than five runs for the first time since June 5 and getting handed his first loss since June 21. Since the latter outing, Keller has posted a 4.34 ERA, 1.36 WHIP and 39:15 K:BB through 47.2 innings over nine starts. He'll look to rebound in his next trip to the mound, which is scheduled to come at home early next week against the Blue Jays.
