Brendan Donovan 2B | SEA
Cardinals' Brendan Donovan: Hitting off tee
Donovan (groin) has been hitting off a tee, Katie Woo of The Athletic reports.
It's not clear whether Donovan is doing any other baseball activities, but he does not seem to be close to returning from his left groin strain. Thomas Saggese has been handling the bulk of the reps at second base in Donovan's stead and will likely continue to do so.

Oneil Cruz CF | PIT
Pirates' Oneil Cruz: Will not be activated Monday
Pirates interim manager Don Kelly said that Cruz (concussion) will not be activated from the 7-day injured list prior to Monday's game in St. Louis, Colin Beazley of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports.
Cruz played rehab games with Double-A Altoona on Saturday and Sunday and came out of it without any setbacks. Kelly did not offer a target date for Cruz's activation, saying only that the team is taking it day by day. The Pirates might have just wanted to give Cruz a day to rest after he played back-to-back rehab games and then traveled to meet the team in St. Louis. Cruz has been sidelined since mid-August.

Chad Patrick RP | MIL
Brewers' Chad Patrick: Sent down to Triple-A
The Brewers optioned Patrick to Triple-A Nashville on Monday.
Patrick was called up to start the Brewers' series finale versus the Giants on Sunday, when he came away with the no-decision in a 4-3 loss after allowing two runs on four hits and two walks while striking out seven across 5.1 innings. Though the right-hander will head back to Triple-A, he could be a candidate to make additional starts for the Brewers in September if the team loses another rotation member to an injury.

Grant Anderson RP | MIL
Brewers' Grant Anderson: Goes on IL with ankle injury
The Brewers placed Anderson on the 15-day injured list Monday due to right ankle tendinitis.
He'll be eligible to return Sept. 8, but it's unclear if Anderson will be ready to go by that date. The right-handed reliever has pitched well out of the Brewers bullpen this season, posting a 2.87 ERA and 66:27 K:BB over 62.2 innings.

Miguel Andujar DH | SD
Reds' Miguel Andujar: Out of Monday's lineup
Andujar is not in the Reds' starting lineup against the Dodgers on Monday.
Andujar will be on the bench for the start of Monday's series opener while Gavin Lux serves as the designated hitter and Matt McLain starts at second base. Andujar is out of the Reds' starting nine for the third time in four games despite slashing .358/.424/.623 with three homers and 11 RBI in 18 games since being acquired by the Reds from the Athletics in late July.

Joseph Ortiz SS | MIL
Brewers' Joey Ortiz: Hopes to return when first eligible
Ortiz (hamstring) fielded grounders Monday and hopes to be activated from the 10-day injured list when first eligible Sept. 1, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Ortiz suffered a left hamstring strain last Thursday and was placed on the IL on Friday. He'll have to show he can ramp up his running without issue before convincing the Brewers he'll need only a minimum-length absence, but Ortiz seems to be doing well during the early stages of his recovery.

Jackson Chourio LF | MIL
Brewers' Jackson Chourio: Not ready to return quite yet
Brewers manager Pat Murphy said Monday that Chourio (hamstring) will remain on his rehab assignment with Triple-A Nashville for a few more days before being activated from the 10-day injured list, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.
Murphy noted that Chourio looked tentative while running the bases on a double during a rehab game Sunday, so the club will keep the outfielder at Nashville for a little while longer until he's able to run at full effort without worrying about his right hamstring. Chourio could be ready to go for the opening game of the Brewers' road trip Friday in Toronto, but that will depend on how he looks and feels in his rehab games between now and then.

Daylen Lile LF | WAS
Nationals' Daylen Lile: Recovering from illness
Nationals interim manager Miguel Cairo said that Lile is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees due to an illness, Andrew Golden of The Washington Post reports.
The left-handed-hitting Lile was excluded from the lineup for Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Phillies while southpaw Ranger Suarez toed the rubber for Philadelphia, but the illness helps explain why the outfielder is getting a second straight day off with right-hander Cam Schlittler starting for New York. Cairo noted that he's hopeful Lile will return to the starting nine Tuesday.
