  • Ryan Rolison RP | CHC

Cubs' Ryan Rolison: Called up from Triple-A

The Cubs recalled Rolison from Triple-A Iowa on Tuesday, Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register reports.

It's unclear what the corresponding roster move will be, but with Matthew Boyd (biceps) expected back next week and Javier Assad struggling Monday versus the Phillies, it could be Assad being sent down. Rolison finished with a 7.02 ERA, 1.77 WHIP and 25:20 K:BB across 42.1 innings with the Rockies last season.

  • Colin Rea SP | CHC

Cubs' Colin Rea: Bulk role likely awaits Tuesday

Rea is no longer scheduled to start Tuesday's game in Philadelphia but appears likely to work in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Riley Martin.

Chicago had initially listed Rea as its starter for Tuesday, but the Cubs will instead have the lefty Martin take the hill to begin the game since the Phillies typically have two left-handed hitters (Kyle Schwarber and Bryce Harper) within the top three spots of the lineup. Martin is unlikely to work more than an inning or two before giving way to Rea, who is coming off a strong start at Tampa Bay last Wednesday in which he held the Rays to one run on two hits and two walks in five innings. Though Matthew Boyd (biceps) appears to be tracking toward a return from the injured list early next week, the Cubs should still have one more opening in the rotation for either Rea or Javier Assad. Rea is the presumptive frontrunner for that spot after Assad was blasted for nine earned runs over 4.1 innings in the Cubs' 13-7 loss in Monday's series opener.

  • Alfredo Duno C | CIN

Reds' Alfredo Duno: On-base machine for Dragons

Duno is hitting .320 with a .500 OBP, one home run and more walks (10) than strikeouts (six) through eight games for High-A Dayton.

Duno has a massive 6-foot-2 frame for a catcher who won't turn 21 until the offseason, but so far it hasn't impeded his work at the plate or behind it. He has ripped three doubles in addition to his home run, and Duno's 10.6 percent swinging-strike rate would be a career-best mark.

  • Hunter Dobbins SP | STL

Cardinals' Hunter Dobbins: Drawing third rehab start Tuesday

Dobbins (knee) will make the third start of his rehab assignment Tuesday at Triple-A Memphis.

Dobbins reached five innings in both of his prior two starts with Memphis and produced a 3.48 ERA, 1.06 WHIP and 10:3 K:BB across 10.1 frames in total between the outings. After Wednesday, the right-hander should be stretched out enough to handle a typical starter's workload, but it's unclear if St. Louis will have an opening for him in its rotation. Andre Pallante owns a 5.40 ERA and 1.60 WHIP through his three starts and would seem to be most at risk of moving to the bullpen if the Cardinals decide to shake up their rotation to make room for Dobbins once he's activated from the injured list.

  • Dodgers' Charles Davalan: Raking for Great Lakes

Davalan is slashing .276/.400/.586 with two home runs, one steal, an 11.4 percent walk rate and an 8.6 percent strikeout rate in eight games for High-A Great Lakes.

Davalan was given as aggressive an assignment as any college hitter from last year's draft, and he's handled it with ease thus far. His batted-ball profile is exquisite, as he has a 26.9 percent groundball rate while using the whole field (34.6 Pull%, 30.8 Oppo%), and he is making contact at a 94.2 percent clip. The Dodgers have an outfield logjam in the minors, and while Davalan has past experience at second base, the team is committed to developing him as an outfielder, so his ascent through the minors may be slower than his development warrants.

  • A.J. Ewing CF | NYM

Mets' A.J. Ewing: More walks than Ks at Double-A

Ewing is hitting .385 with zero home runs, four steals and a 5:8 K:BB in seven games for Double-A Binghamton.

The speedy center fielder logged a 133 wRC+ in 28 games at Double-A to close 2025, and he's got a 197 wRC+ early on in a return trip to the Eastern League. While Ewing's defense in center field continues to improve, he has seen two starts at second base this year, so he hasn't completely moved off the dirt. Ewing doesn't have the same slap-hitter tendencies as many speedsters, as he had a 40.3 percent groundball rate and 40.8 percent pull rate in 2025, but his groundball rate has spiked to 57.1 percent in the early going this year.

  • Pete Hansen SP | STL

Cardinals' Pete Hansen: Activated at Triple-A

Triple-A Memphis reinstated Hansen (shoulder) from its 7-day injured list Tuesday.

Hansen is likely to make his 2026 debut with Memphis later this week after making a four-inning start Sunday in his second and final rehab outing at Single-A Palm Beach. The 25-year-old lefty pitched exclusively at the Double-A level with Springfield in 2025, logging a 3.93 ERA, 1.27 WHIP and 123:37 K:BB over 137.1 innings.

  • Greg Jones CF | MIL

Brewers' Greg Jones: Joining big club

The Brewers selected Jones' contract from Triple-A Nashville on Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The 28-year-old outfielder joined Milwaukee on a minor-league contract in December and failed to make the Opening Day roster, but he'll get a look in the big leagues early in the season with Christian Yelich (groin) landing on the injured list. Jones isn't likely to see significant playing time, though a path is there if he can make a strong early impression with Jackson Chourio (hand) also on the IL.

  • Rob Zastryzny RP | MIL

Brewers' Rob Zastryzny: Shifted to 60-day injured list

The Brewers transferred Zastryzny (shoulder/ribs) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The transaction clears a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Greg Jones. Zastryzny began the season on the IL with a shoulder strain before suffering an intercostal strain on his rehab assignment. The latter injury would appear to be the bigger issue now, and it will keep him out at least until late May.

  • Brewers' Christian Yelich: Placed on IL with groin strain

The Brewers placed Yelich on the 10-day injured list Tuesday with a left groin strain, Adam McCalvy of MLB.com reports.

The Brewers initially called Yelich's injury hamstring tightness when he was lifted from Sunday's game versus the Nationals. The designation has changed, but regardless, it's an injury that will keep Yelich out at least until late April and perhaps longer. While Yelich is sidelined, the Brewers could use Gary Sanchez often in the designated-hitter spot.
