Mets' Tyrone Taylor: Lands on injured list

The Mets placed Taylor on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to a left hamstring strain, Mike Puma of the New York Post reports.

The 31-year-old has been battling hamstring discomfort over the past few days and will now head to the IL after being diagnosed with a strain. The severity of the strain is unclear, so it remains to be seen if Taylor will be able to return after spending the 10-day minimum on the shelf.

  • Brady House 3B | WAS

Nationals' Brady House: Playing time dwindling

House is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Marlins.

House had started the previous two contests, but this marks his third absence from the lineup over the last five games and the fourth absence across the last eight games. The 22-year-old is slashing .213/.221/.267 with a 1:27 BB:K since the start of August. Paul DeJong will handle third base and bat eighth.

  • Robert Hassell CF | WAS

Nationals' Robert Hassell: Out of Washington lineup

Hassell is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Marlins.

Hassell had made nine straight starts against right-handed pitching, but he'll take a seat Tuesday as the Marlins send righty Adam Mazur to the bump. Jacob Young is in center field and batting ninth for the Nationals.

  • Keibert Ruiz C | WAS

Nationals' Keibert Ruiz: Starting rehab stint

Ruiz (concussion) reported to Double-A Harrisburg to begin a rehab assignment Tuesday, Spencer Nusbaum of The Washington Post reports.

The 27-year-old backstop has been on the shelf nearly two months due to a concussion, but he's now been cleared for game action after clearing the concussion protocol. It's unclear how many games in the minors Ruiz will need to get back up to speed, but it's possible he's back with the Nationals as early as this weekend.

  • Joe La Sorsa RP | PIT

Reds' Joe La Sorsa: Booted from 40-man roster

The Reds designated La Sorsa for assignment Tuesday.

The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for the addition of Reiver Sanmartin. La Sorsa has made five appearances out of the Reds' bullpen this season, allowing nine runs (eight earned) in 6.2 innings.

  • Reds' Tyler Stephenson: Cleared for rehab assignment

Stephenson (thumb) will begin a rehab assignment Wednesday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

Stephenson has missed just over two weeks of action with a fractured thumb but has already been cleared to play in games. He could be ready for activation from the 10-day injured list by this weekend.

  • Sam Moll RP | CIN

Reds' Sam Moll: Optioned to Triple-A

The Reds optioned Moll to Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

The Reds have a bullpen game Tuesday against the Blue Jays and needed a reliever who can provide more length than Moll, who has covered just 18.1 frames in his 23 appearances this season. Reiver Sanmartin is taking Moll's spot on the roster.

  • Rockies' Warming Bernabel: Absence continuing Tuesday

Bernabel (knee/quadriceps) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game against the Giants.

The rookie corner infielder will sit for a third straight game as he continues to manage a bruised left knee and quad. Kyle Farmer is starting at first base Tuesday in place of Bernabel.

  • Reds' Reiver Sanmartin: Contract selected

The Reds selected Sanmartin's contract from Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, Charlie Goldsmith of Fox 19 Now Cincinnati reports.

Sanmartin hasn't pitched in the majors since 2023 but has had a nice season at Louisville, collecting a 2.79 ERA and 44:17 K:BB over 58 innings. He could be asked to eat multiple innings during a bullpen game Tuesday versus the Blue Jays.

  • Drew Millas C | WAS

Nationals' Drew Millas: Moves to 60-day IL

The Nationals transferred Millas (finger) to the 60-day injured list Tuesday.

Millas underwent season-ending finger surgery last week, so his move to the 60-day IL was an inevitability. The 27-year-old had an .807 OPS in 54 plate appearances for the Nationals this year and is expected to be healthy for the start of spring training.
