  • Ryan Walker RP | SF

Giants' Ryan Walker: Locks down 13th save

Walker picked up the save Tuesday against the Rockies, striking out one in a clean ninth inning.

Walker secured his 13th save of the season, and he's quickly taken over as the Giants' top closer following the season-ending injury to Randy Rodriguez (elbow). Walker has successfully converted each of his last three save opportunities, and he's conceded just one earned run over his last 10.2 innings since the start of August. The right-hander also has an 11:1 K:BB during that stretch, and he should be rostered in the majority of fantasy leagues.

  • Logan Webb SP | SF

Giants' Logan Webb: Fans seven in 13th win

Webb (13-9) earned the win Tuesday against the Rockies, allowing two runs on seven hits and two walks in five innings. He struck out seven.

Even though Webb's streak of starts of at least six innings was stopped at six, he still turned in a decent outing at hitter-friendly Coors Field. The All-Star right-hander has fired fewer than five frames just twice all year, and he's now fanned at least five on 24 occasions among his 29 outings. Webb owns a steady 3.17 ERA, 1.23 WHIP and 194:39 K:BB across 178.2 innings, and he's next lined up to take the hill early next week at home against the division-rival Diamondbacks.

  • Ivan Herrera DH | STL

Cardinals' Ivan Herrera: Smacks two-run homer in victory

Herrera went 1-for-3 with a two-run home run in Tuesday's 2-1 win over the Athletics.

That's now two homers in as many days to open the month of September for Herrera, who has three long balls in his past five outings. The 25-year-old backstop also has an active eight-game hitting streak, during which he's batting .375 with six RBI and five runs scored. Herrera's OPS sits at a career-best .818 for the campaign as well.

  • JoJo Romero RP | STL

Cardinals' JoJo Romero: Nails down save No. 6

Romero struck out one in a clean ninth inning for the save Tuesday against the Athletics.

Romero recorded save No. 6 for the year, and each of those have come in the aftermath of the Ryan Helsley trade. With Riley O'Brien (shoulder) being day-to-day, Romero looks to be St. Louis' go-to weapon in the ninth inning for the time being. Romero had a 6.10 ERA through April 30, but he's posted a 1.12 ERA over his last 40.1 innings since the start of May to bring his ERA to a career-best 2.13 for the season.

  • Eli White LF | ATL

Braves' Eli White: Pops solo homer in loss

White went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Cubs.

White launched his eighth homer of the year and his first since Aug. 5 versus Milwaukee. Barring an injury to any of Atlanta's key players, the 31-year-old utility man should continue to play a part-time role to close out the campaign. For the season, White is batting a poor .233 with eight doubles, three triples, 31 RBI, 39 runs scored and eight stolen bases over 240 at-bats (95 games).

  • Shota Imanaga SP | CHC

Cubs' Shota Imanaga: Logs sixth straight quality start

Imanaga (9-6) earned the win Tuesday against Atlanta, allowing three runs on five hits and one walk in six innings. He struck out two.

While he fell one strikeout shy of tying his season-low output, Imanaga extended his streak of quality starts to six. The left-hander has permitted more than three runs on just three occasions in 21 starts this season and has pitched at least five frames in all but two outings. Imanaga sports a 3.15 ERA, 0.93 WHIP and 97:23 K:BB over 123 innings, and he'll be trying to add to his streak of quality starts in a rematch with Atlanta early next week.

  • Joey Wentz SP | ATL

Braves' Joey Wentz: Season-high eight Ks in loss

Wentz (5-5) took the loss Tuesday against the Cubs, allowing four runs on seven hits and one walk in four-plus innings. He struck out eight.

The season-high eight strikeouts salvaged what was a poor showing overall by Wentz. Although he generated a strong 13 whiffs Tuesday, the southpaw gave up at least four runs for the second time in his last three outings. Wentz still has a respectable 3.88 ERA, 1.19 WHIP and 47:17 K:BB over 48.2 innings since joining Atlanta, though he's tentatively scheduled for another tough matchup against these same Cubs early next week.

  • Cubs' Kevin Alcantara: Singles, scores in 2025 debut

Alcantara went 1-for-3 with a run scored in Tuesday's 4-3 win over Atlanta.

Alcantara, who was called up from Triple-A Iowa on Monday, got the start in center field Tuesday and batted ninth in his 2025 MLB debut. The 23-year-old was eventually lifted for Pete Crow-Armstrong, who closed the game out in center field. Alcantara is essentially replacing Owen Caissie as a young, talented reserve outfielder who will give the Cubs some depth but is unlikely to see consistent playing time.

  • Miles Mikolas SP | WAS

Cardinals' Miles Mikolas: Holds Athletics in check in win

Mikolas (7-10) earned the win Tuesday against the Athletics, allowing one run on five hits and one walk with no strikeouts in six innings.

Despite the season-low zero strikeouts, it was still one of Mikolas' finer performances of the year. It was his eighth quality start in 2025, and it also marked his ninth time surrendering one earned run or zero this season. Mikolas will be trying to build on Tuesday's performance when he takes a 4.89 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 86:33 K:BB over 136.1 innings into his next outing, which is slated for next week against the Mariners at pitcher-friendly T-Mobile Park.

  • Kyle Tucker RF | LAD

Cubs' Kyle Tucker: Nursing calf injury

Tucker was removed from Tuesday's game against Atlanta with left calf tightness, Andy Martinez of Marquee Sports Network reports.

Tucker went 2-for-3 with a three-run homer before his calf forced him to make an early exit in the seventh. Manager Craig Counsell said after the game that Tucker won't play in Wednesday's contest, per Taylor McGregor of Marquee Sports Network, leaving Kevin Alcantara and Willi Castro as the likely candidates to pick up a start in right field. Tucker, meanwhile, will aim to return for the start of Chicago's weekend series against Washington.
