Holton will serve as the Tigers' opening pitcher for Thursday's game against the Yankees, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Holton will receive his sixth opening assignment of the season Thursday and his first since July 2. The 29-year-old southpaw owns a 3.86 ERA and 1.12 WHIP through 67.2 frames, and he likely will remain in the game for just an inning or two before turning the ball over to Sawyer Gipson-Long, who is expected to work in a bulk-relief role.

Diaz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, a walk and an additional run scored in a 6-5 loss to the White Sox on Wednesday.

After launching just 14 long balls over 145 games last regular season, Diaz has taken advantage of the cozy minor-league park the Rays have had to call home in 2025. The veteran infielder cranked his career-high 23rd homer Wednesday, and 17 of them have come at George M. Steinbrenner Field. Diaz has been one of fantasy's top four-category contributors since the start of June. Over his last 82 outings, he's hitting .327 with 15 big flies, 15 doubles, 44 RBI and 48 runs scored to help produce an .824 OPS on the year.

Benintendi went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in a 6-5 win over the Rays on Wednesday.

Benintendi went yard for the 19th time this season and the fourth time already in the month of September. The 31-year-old outfielder is tearing the cover off the ball lately, batting .379 with five big flies, two doubles and 13 RBI across his last 15 outings to increase his OPS to .749 for the year. Benintendi is also riding a five-game hitting streak as he looks to end the campaign on a high note.

Estevez picked up the save in Wednesday's 4-3 win over the Guardians, tossing a perfect ninth inning.

Called upon in the ninth to protect a one-run lead, Estevez extended his scoreless streak to 10 appearances while converting his MLB-leading 39th save of the season. The veteran right-hander is now on the verge of becoming just the eighth Royal to ever reach the 40-save mark in a single campaign and the first since 2014. Estevez has been a model of consistency at the back end of Kansas City's bullpen, posting a 2.45 ERA, 1.04 WHIP and 52:21 K:BB across 62.1 innings this year.

Correa went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-2 win over Toronto.

Correa blasted his 13th homer of the season and the 200th of his excellent career. The slugging infielder now has at least one hit in eight of his first nine outings in September. Correa had a middling .705 OPS for the Twins this year, but he's slashing .297/.354/.455 with six long balls, five doubles, 19 RBI and 18 runs scored over 158 plate appearances for the Astros to improve his OPS to .737 for the campaign.

Allen didn't factor into the decision against the Royals on Wednesday, allowing two runs on seven hits while striking out two over five innings.

While Allen had hiccups in the first and third innings, he was near perfect otherwise, facing the minimum number of batters over his remaining three frames. The 27-year-old logged at least five innings for the 16th time in his last 17 starts. The right-hander came into the outing with a 5.87 ERA, 1.73 WHIP and 19 walks across his previous six starts (30.2 innings), and while Wednesday's line was cleaner, he continued to struggle with limiting baserunners. Allen remains tough to trust in most fantasy formats, offering little more than streaming value when in the right matchup.

Abreu picked up the save Wednesday against Toronto, striking out one in a clean ninth inning.

One night after blowing a save against the Blue Jays, Abreu rebounded with his fifth save of the season Wednesday. The hard-throwing right-hander has fanned at least one in nine consecutive outings, and he remains in position to close out the regular season as Houston's stopper in the absence of closer Josh Hader (shoulder). Through 66 frames this year, Abreu has a 2.45 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 101:29 K:BB.

Taylor was removed from Wednesday's game against the Rays with a right groin strain.

The White Sox turned to Taylor in a save situation Wednesday, but he had to come out of the game after throwing just seven pitches with decreased velocity. The White Sox will further evaluate him Thursday, at which point more details regarding the severity of his injury may be revealed. If he requires a stint on the IL, his absence could lead to more high-leverage work for Brandon Eisert or Steven Wilson going forward.

Alexander didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Blue Jays, allowing three hits and one walk in seven shutout innings. He struck out three.

Alexander entered the month of August with a dismal 7.36 ERA in 2025, but he's turned a corner ever since. The right-hander has logged four quality starts over his last seven outings, improving his ERA to 4.19 for the campaign during that stretch. Additionally, Wednesday's appearance was his longest of the season. Alexander also has a serviceable 1.31 WHIP and 55:23 K:BB across 66.2 frames overall, and he's next lined up to get the ball for a crucial matchup against the division-rival Rangers next week.

Berrios didn't factor into the decision Wednesday against the Astros, allowing two runs on five hits and one walk in 5.1 innings. He struck out four.

After working a season-low two innings his last time out in Cincinnati, Berrios rediscovered his form to throw 5.1 solid innings Wednesday. The veteran right-hander had tossed at least five frames in each of his first 14 outings of the season, though he's been able to last at least five innings in just nine of his last 15 appearances. Berrios still holds a 3.99 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 135:52 K:BB across 29 starts, and he'll be in search of some consistency in a scheduled matchup against the division-rival Rays next week.
