Abreu went 2-for-5 with a home run and three RBI in Wednesday's 8-1 win over the Orioles.

Abreu's previous homer came during the May 8 win over the Rays, so Wednesday's long ball snapped a 20-game power drought. Additionally, the three RBI established a season high. Abreu is putting together a quality campaign as Boston's top right fielder, slashing .283/.345/.435 with seven home runs, 12 doubles, 28 RBI and four stolen bases across 256 plate appearances.

Tolle (3-2) earned the win Wednesday against the Orioles, allowing no runs on seven hits and two walks in six innings. He struck out five.

Tolle danced around plenty of pressure Wednesday, throwing just one clean inning on the evening, but he still managed to deliver his second scoreless start of the campaign. The 23-year-old left-hander is showing great improvement at keeping the ball in the yard this year, serving up just three home runs over 47.1 innings after giving up five across just 16.1 frames last regular season. Tolle will carry an impressive 2.28 ERA, 0.97 WHIP and 51:13 K:BB into his next scheduled outing in Tampa Bay against the Rays.

The Blue Jays transferred Mantipky (knee) to the 60-day injured list Wednesday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.

Mantiply is set to undergo arthroscopic surgery on his left knee, so the Blue Jays will stash him away on the 60-day IL and give his spot on the 40-man roster to Simeon Woods Richardson, who was acquired from the Twins on Wednesday.

Smith secured the save Wednesday against the Yankees, allowing one run on one hit and no walks in the ninth inning. He struck out one.

While Smith gave up a run and allowed the possible tying run to get to the plate, he got Jose Caballero to pop out and seal a one-run win for Cleveland. The right-hander has mostly excelled as the Guardians' closer in 2026, posting a 2.83 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 43:5 K:BB over 28.2 innings with just two blown saves. Smith ranks first in the major leagues with 21 saves and has converted 18 consecutive chances, though he's given up a run in two of his past three outings.

Manager Aaron Boone said Wednesday that Judge (ribs) will undergo additional imaging, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Judge has been dealing with shoulder soreness for the past couple of weeks. Initial imaging determined it to be a result of a bone bruise in his ribs, but now that he's missed two consecutive games, the Yankees are going to send him in for another round of tests to make sure he isn't dealing with a more significant injury. He can be considered day-to-day while the team waits for his results to come back.

Bassitt was removed from Wednesday's game against Boston due to lower-back tightness, Jacob Calvin Meyer of The Baltimore Sun reports.

Bassitt made it through just three innings Wednesday, allowing three earned runs on six hits and two walks while striking out one batter before his back forced him out of the game. The team hasn't provided any information regarding the severity of the right-hander's injury, so it's unclear whether he'll be ready for his next start -- tentatively scheduled for Monday against Seattle.

Williams (9-3) earned the win Wednesday against the Yankees, allowing three runs on four hits and one walk in 5.1 innings. He struck out six.

Although Williams gave up just four knocks Wednesday, three went for extra bases and two left the yard. The 26-year-old right-hander has provided consistent length for the Guardians in 2026, pitching at least five innings in all 13 starts thus far, and he's fanned at least six in 10 outings. Williams will take a steady 3.20 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 94:25 K:BB over 81.2 innings into his next start, which is set to be a rematch at home against the Yankees.

Cole (1-1) took the loss Wednesday against the Guardians, allowing four runs on six hits and one walk in 5.1 innings. He struck out two.

Following a pair of scoreless starts to begin his campaign, Cole stumbled quite a bit Wednesday. The 35-year-old right-hander served up three home runs in what also his shortest start of the year so far, but it was at least somewhat encouraging to see him reach the 80-pitch marker for the first time since coming off the injured list. Cole still has a strong 2.00 ERA, 0.89 WHIP and 14:4 K:BB over 18 innings, and he's set for another crack at the Guardians in Cleveland his next time out.

The Blue Jays acquired Woods Richardson from the Twins on Wednesday in exchange for cash, Mitch Bannon of The Athletic reports.

Minnesota designated Woods Richardson for assignment last weekend after he put up a 7.74 ERA and 1.89 WHIP over 47.2 innings. He'll reclaim a 40-man roster spot upon rejoining the Blue Jays organization, with whom he spent parts of three seasons in the minors. Woods Richardson could fill an immediate need for the big club in the rotation or as a long-relief arm, as the Blue Jays currently have 10 pitchers on the injured list.

Neto (neck) isn't in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Rockies, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Wednesday will mark the Angels' third consecutive game without Neto in the starting nine while he battles whiplash. Manager Kurt Suzuki said the decision to sit him down was precautionary, per Bollinger, so it doesn't seem like the team is worried about the 25-year-old's injury leading to a stint on the IL. Oswald Peraza will pick up another start at shortstop; meanwhile, Neto will have a team off day to recover ahead of Friday's series opener versus the Dodgers.
