Mesa (hamstring) is starting in right field and batting sixth Tuesday against the Blue jays, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

The 24-year-old didn't start the past three games after exiting Friday's contest due to left hamstring tightness, but he's back in action Tuesday against Toronto righty Jose Soriano. Mesa has been performing well at the plate lately with five extra-base hits (two homers) and a .955 OPS across his last eight games.

Dingler is absent from the lineup for Tuesday's game in Pittsburgh.

It's a well-earned day off for Dingler, who had made 20 consecutive starts (15 at catcher, five at designated hitter). Eduardo Valencia will do the catching and will bat cleanup for the Tigers.

DeLauter (hamstring) is not in the lineup for Tuesday's game versus the Giants.

DeLauter was forced to leave Sunday's game against the Padres with left hamstring tightness, and the team off day Monday wasn't enough to get him over the hump. The good news is that an MRI came back clean, per Tim Stebbins of MLB.com, and DeLauter is feeling better Tuesday. Angel Martinez, Steven Kwan and Jo Adell will be in the outfield and Travis Bazzana will serve as the Guardians' designated hitter Tuesday.

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Schmidt (elbow) will be preparing to return from the 60-day injured list as a reliever, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports. "That can always change as the weeks and month unfolds, just depending," Boone said, regarding Schmidt's potential role. "But that's kind of how we're looking at."

Since Boone made those comments, the Yankees have placed Max Fried back on the IL with a bone bruise in his elbow, but with Carlos Rodon (elbow) returning from the IL on Tuesday, the team will have a five-man rotation intact. As such, the Yankees' plans for Schmidt may not have changed, but the 30-year-old right-hander will still need to complete his throwing progression and a rehab assignment before being available for the big club in any capacity. Schmidt has been limited to throwing off flat ground since cutting a live batting practice session short Aug. 4 after experiencing some forearm cramping, but Boone expects Schmidt to get back on a mound at some point this week.

Manager Aaron Boone said that Stanton (calf) did some baserunning Saturday, but the Yankees remain uncertain when the five-time All-Star will be ready to begin a rehab assignment, MLB.com reports.

In addition to running the bases, Stanton has been taking live batting practice as he gears up for a late-season return from a right calf strain, which has kept him on the 10-day injured list since April 28. The Yankees will likely wait and see how Stanton responds to several days of workouts before potentially mapping out a rehab schedule for him, after which a clearer target date for his activation could become available. After the Yankees added a left-handed bat in Luis Garcia at the trade deadline, Stanton could be ticketed for the short side of a platoon at designated hitter once he eventually returns from the IL.

Urquidy (1-1) was the pitcher of record in Friday's 9-5 win over the Tigers, covering 3.2 innings out of the bullpen and striking out three batters while giving up three earned runs on five hits and no walks.

Making his White Sox debut after being called up from Triple-A Charlotte earlier in the day, Urquidy essentially ended up taking over the rotation spot that previously belonged to Noah Schultz, who was optioned to the minors Aug. 8. Though Sean Newcomb drew the start Friday, he ended up serving as more of an opener, covering 1.1 innings before Urquidy took over in bulk relief. While Urquidy was far from dominant over his 52-pitch appearance, he received enough run support to come away with a win. Expect Urquidy to remain in the rotation for another turn, with the White Sox likely to deploy him as a traditional starter or bulk reliever during Wednesday's series finale with the Cubs at Wrigley Field.

Fedde could be a candidate to pitch in bulk relief behind opening pitcher Bryan Hudson in Tuesday's game against the Cubs, Noah Phalen of SouthsideShowdown.com reports.

The White Sox moved Fedde to the bullpen in the aftermath of the trade deadline, but the team currently has two openings in its rotation after demoting Noah Schultz to Triple-A Charlotte on Aug. 8 and placing Davis Martin (finger) on the injured list Friday. Jose Urquidy worked in bulk relief last week when Schultz's turn in the rotation came up, and Fedde looks like a logical choice to help fill innings Tuesday, which would have been Martin's spot. After Martin departed Thursday's 9-8 loss to the Reds early when he developed a blister, Fedde came on in long relief and allowed four earned runs on five hits and two walks over three frames.

Rutschman went 2-for-5 with a double, an RBI and a run scored in Monday's 11-1 win over Arizona.

Rutschman, who was dropped from third to fifth in the order, snapped an 0-for-19 skid with a sixth-inning double that plated Boston's ninth run. He entered the game having gone 1-for-17 over his first five games in a Red Sox uniform.

White went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Monday's 9-5 loss to the Royals.

After launching the first homer of his big-league career Sunday, White left the yard again with a solo shot in the fifth inning. Since debuting July 17, the 23-year-old has slashed .267/.295/.347 with two homers, two doubles, three RBI and 12 runs in 27 contests. White played third base Monday but has also seen action at first base in the absence of Nick Kurtz (thumb).

Serven went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Monday's 9-5 loss to Kansas City.

Serven swatted a Michael Wacha changeup over the left-field wall for a two-run homer in the fifth inning. It marked his third homer of the campaign, with the backstop slashing .200/.222/.457 with seven RBI and four runs across 13 contests. With Shea Langeliers (knee) sidelined, Serven has served as the backup to Jonah Heim at catcher.
