  • White Sox's Tristan Peters: Hits for cycle Friday

Peters went 4-for-4 with a double, a triple, a two-run home run, four total RBI and two runs scored in Friday's 14-1 win over the Athletics. Peters became the third player to hit for the cycle this season, joining Pete Crow-Armstrong and Bryce Harper, and the seventh to do so in franchise history. Furthermore, Peters became the third player since the expansion era (since 1961) to complete the cycle by getting two hits in the same inning, according to Scott Merkin of MLB.com. This was Peters' third multi-hit performance since the beginning of July, a span during which he's hitting 12-for-27 (.444) with two homers, three doubles, a triple, five RBI and six runs scored.

  • White Sox's Tristan Peters: Out of Wednesday's lineup

Peters is not in the White Sox's starting lineup against the Red Sox on Wednesday. Peters saw his eight-game hitting streak come to an end in Tuesday's 8-1 loss to Boston, when he went 0-for-3 with two strikeouts. He'll be on the bench for the beginning of Wednesday's contest while Junior Perez starts in center field and bats seventh against Red Sox southpaw Jake Bennett.

  • White Sox's Tristan Peters: Seven-game hitting streak

Peters went 2-for-3 with a walk, a double and a run scored Saturday against the Guardians. Peters started his 10th consecutive game, nine of which have come in center field. He has hits in each of his last seven appearances, during which he's gone 9-for-26 with six runs scored and a stolen base. Peters offers very little pop, but he's maintained a .291 batting average with a .349 OBP across 256 plate appearances this season.

  • White Sox's Tristan Peters: Knocks in two

Peters went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBI and a run scored Sunday against the Tigers. Peters was a primary driver of the White Sox's offense Sunday, doubling in a run in the seventh inning before hitting a sacrifice fly in the 10th frame. This marked Peter's first multi-hit effort in his last nine starts, and he's gone just 5-for-28 in that span. Overall, he's been a source of empty batting average in 210 plate appearances this season, though he has been Chicago's primary center fielder and should remain in that role due to his strong ability with the glove.

  • White Sox's Tristan Peters: Idle against southpaw

Peters is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Yankees. After Peters started in each of the White Sox's last 10 games, manager Will Venable has elected to give the left-handed-hitting outfielder a breather while the Yankees send southpaw Carlos Rodon to the bump. Peters has been an unsung hero in the White Sox's surprise 38-33 start to the season. While the 26-year-old rookie hasn't provided much in the way of counting statistics with three home runs, four stolen bases, 22 runs and 21 RBI in 68 games, he's produced a strong .294/.352/.450 slash line across 200 plate appearances.

  • Rays' Tristan Peters: Back in majors

The Rays recalled Peters from Triple-A Durham on Tuesday. The 25-year-old was sent down to Triple-A on Monday, but he'll reverse course and rejoin the Rays with Taylor Walls (groin) moving to the injured list. Peters went hitless in nine tries during his first MLB stint over the weekend, and he'll presumably come off the bench most days going forward.

The Rays selected Peters' contract from Triple-A Durham on Friday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports. In 424 plate appearances with Durham this season, Peters is slashing .282/.370/.453 with 11 homers and 11 stolen bases. Connor Seabold was designated for assignment to open up a spot for Peters on the 40-man roster.

  • Rays' Tristan Peters: Out with oblique injury

Peters is on the 7-day injured list at Double-A Montgomery with an oblique injury, Sam Dykstra of MiLB.com reports. He last played April 18, so assuming it is an oblique strain, we should see Peters return to action around the end of May. The 23-year-old outfielder had a .368 OBP, two home runs and four steals in nine games before the injury.
