Alexander will start at third base and bat ninth in Wednesday's game against the Angels, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

Alexander exited Monday's series opener due to a right knee contusion and was held out of Tuesday's 5-1 loss, but the day off was apparently all that he needed to move past the minor injury. He'll settle back in at third base, where he appears to have supplanted Coby Mayo as the Orioles' preferred option. Dating back to the beginning of June, Alexander has submitted a .413/.451/.674 slash line with two home runs, two stolen bases, nine RBI and seven runs in 17 games.

Holliday (groin) is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Angels, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

The Orioles will keep Holliday on the bench for a fourth consecutive contest while he tends to a sore groin. Per MLB.com, Holliday was able to go through pregame work Monday and Tuesday, so the Orioles are seemingly viewing him as day-to-day with the hope that he'll be ready to return to the lineup during this weekend's series against the Nationals following Thursday's team off day.

O'Hoppe is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

O'Hoppe will get a breather for the day game after he started behind the plate for the first two contests of the series while going 0-for-6 with three strikeouts. Tyler Heineman will handle catching duties for the Angels on Wednesday.

The Angels recalled Lowe from Triple-A Salt Lake on Wednesday. He'll start in center field and bat eighth in the Angels' series finale with the Orioles.

Lowe opened the season on the strong side of a platoon in left field, but the Angels demoted him to Triple-A on May 22 after he struggled to a .184/.226/.320 slash line with a 29.1 percent strikeout rate over 134 plate appearances. While handling a regular role for Salt Lake over the past month, Lowe has trimmed his strikeout rate to 26.2 percent while producing a 1.014 OPS, though that strong production comes with the caveat that he did his damage in hitter-friendly parks in the Pacific Coast League. He received a call-up to the Angels nonetheless, though Lowe may be in store for only a short-term stay with the big club after everyday center fielder Jose Siri (personal) was placed on the paternity list in a corresponding move.

Adell is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

Manager Kurt Suzuki will give Adell and shortstop Zach Neto breathers for the matinee contest after both players started in every game dating back to June 5. Wade Meckler will shift over from his usual spot in left field to cover right field in Adell's stead.

Neto is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Orioles, Rhett Bollinger of MLB.com reports.

The Angels are likely just giving Neto a breather as they wrap up their series versus Baltimore with a day game after a night game. Oswald Peraza will step in at shortstop in place of Neto, who had started in each of the last 18 games.

The Angels placed Siri on the paternity list Wednesday.

Siri will have to miss between one and three games while he's on the paternity list, so he'll be back with the Angels no later than Sunday's series finale versus the Athletics. The Angels called up Josh Lowe from Triple-A Salt Lake in a corresponding move, and he'll take Siri's spot in center field during Wednesday's game against the Orioles. Siri had covered center in each of the Angels' last seven games, going 5-for-22 with a home run, a walk, a stolen base, four RBI and five runs during that stretch.

Interim manager Chad Tracy said Wednesday that Anthony (finger/wrist) hasn't made any substantive progress in his recovery back in Boston since the Red Sox began their road trip last weekend, Tim Healey of The Boston Globe reports.

Though a recent MRI on a partially torn tendon in his right ring finger showed healing, Anthony is still experiencing some discomfort that has prevented him from initiating a hitting progression. He'll simply have to wait until the pain subsides before he can make any meaningful strides in his recovery, leaving Anthony without a definitive timeline for a return. The young outfielder has been on the shelf since May 7.

Estevez (shoulder) threw a bullpen Sunday and is scheduled to throw another Wednesday, MLB.com reports.

Estevez has been on the injured list since April 1, originally due to a left foot contusion before suffering a right rotator cuff strain during a rehab assignment May 6. The veteran has steadily progressed in his recovery, and the move to bullpen sessions represents a positive step forward. If the right-hander comes out of Wednesday's session without any issues, he could quickly progress to facing live hitters.

Mears (shoulder) received an injection and began playing catch again Monday, MLB.com reports.

Mears threw a bullpen June 16 and was on the right track in his recovery from a right shoulder impingement, but the 29-year-old came out of the session dealing with the same soreness and pinching feeling that landed him on the shelf in the first place. After receiving an injection in his shoulder, the right-hander is back to throwing and will look to build up in rehab without any further setbacks. Before being placed on the injured list May 29, Mears posted a 5.12 ERA, 1.50 WHIP and 15:11 K:BB across 19.1 innings.
