Jose Trevino C | CIN
Yankees' Jose Trevino: Lands on injured list
The Yankees placed Trevino on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left quad strain.
Trevino hurt his quad while running to home plate in the ninth inning of Friday's contest, and he'll now be out until at least July 23 as a result. Carlos Narvaez will come up from Triple-A to fill in as Austin Wells' backup at catcher.

Wenceel Perez RF | DET
Tigers' Wenceel Perez: Sitting again Saturday
Perez isn't in the Tigers' lineup Saturday versus the Dodgers, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Although the switch-hitting Perez is batting .281 with a .742 OPS against lefties, he'll sit down Saturday against left-handed starter Justin Wrobleski. Justyn-Henry Malloy, Riley Greene and Ryan Vilade will start in the outfield from left to right while Perez rests.

Jarren Duran LF | BOS
Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Dropped to second in order
Duran batted second and went 0-for-4 in Friday's 6-1 loss to Kansas City.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora, cognizant of Boston's struggles against left-handers, moved the righty-hitting Rob Refsnyder to leadoff against Cole Ragans. While Refsnyder got on base twice against Ragans, the left-hander stifled the rest of Boston's lineup, the second time in three games the Red Sox were quelled by a southpaw. Duran, who is batting .275/.336/.468 overall, is slashing .242/.313/.300 against lefties.

Jonathan Cannon RP | CHW
White Sox's Jonathan Cannon: Stuck with loss in piggyback role
Cannon (1-3) took the loss Friday as the White Sox were downed 4-1 by the Pirates, giving up four runs on seven hits and two walks over six relief innings. He struck out four.
Starter Garrett Crochet was on a strict pitch count and got the hook after two perfect innings, but Cannon was able to save the rest of the bullpen by tossing 92 pitches (57 strikes). Manager Pedro Grifol has indicated that Crochet's workload is going to be monitored the rest of the way, or at least for as long as the southpaw is with the White Sox, and with Mike Clevinger (elbow) close to coming off the IL, Cannon could remain the first option to work in tandem with Crochet in a piggyback role. Through 51 innings in the majors this season, the rookie right-hander has a 4.41 ERA, 1.31 WHIP and 39:13 K:BB.

Jake Rogers C | CHW
Tigers' Jake Rogers: Sitting Saturday
Rogers isn't in the Tigers' lineup for Saturday's game against the Dodgers, Evan Petzold of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Rogers will take a seat against Justin Wrobleski and the Dodgers on Saturday after going 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in Friday's series opener. Carson Kelly will get the nod behind the plate and bat sixth.

Garrett Crochet RP | BOS
White Sox's Garrett Crochet: Lifted after two perfect frames
Crochet didn't factor into the decision in Friday's 4-1 loss to the Pirates, striking out four in two perfect innings.
White Sox manager Pedro Grifol had indicated Crochet would be on a pitch count for this outing, but the extremely quick hook kept the left-hander from putting together what might have been an exceptional performance -- he fired 22 of 28 pitches for strikes before exiting, including seven swinging strikes. Chicago is focused on Crochet's long-term health, or at least in keeping him healthy until the trade deadline, and the 25-year-old isn't expected to take the mound again until July 23 on the road against the Rangers.

Rob Refsnyder DH | SEA
Red Sox's Rob Refsnyder: Moves to leadoff Friday
Refsnyder batted leadoff and went 1-for-2 with a walk in Friday's 6-1 loss to the Royals.
Red Sox manager Alex Cora had Refsnyder and Jarren Duran swap spots in the order against a left-hander. Boston has hit righties (.756 OPS) better than southpaws (.713) this season, so Cora was hoping to get a jump against Cole Ragans.

Alex Bregman 3B | CHC
Astros' Alex Bregman: Stays hot Friday
Bregman went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Friday's 6-3 win over the Rangers.
He belted the first pitch he saw from Andrew Heaney in the fifth inning deep to left field, giving the Astros a 3-0 lead they wouldn't relinquish. Bregman has gone yard three times in the last seven games, batting .370 (10-for-27) over that stretch with 10 RBI, and since the beginning of June he's slashing .315/.376/.490 over 157 plate appearances as he puts a tepid start to 2024 in his rearview mirror.

Tommy Kahnle RP | BOS
Yankees' Tommy Kahnle: Picks up hold Friday
Kahnle recorded a hold against Baltimore on Friday, allowing one hit in one scoreless inning.
Kahnle entered in the seventh frame after Gerrit Cole allowed one run over six innings. Kahnle gave up a leadoff single but retired the next three batters to keep New York's 4-1 lead intact. The righty reliever has given up just one run over his past 14 appearances, recording a 15:5 K:BB across 11.1 innings during that span. He's been moving into higher-leverage spots of late with holds in his last two outings.
