  • Orioles' Anthony Santander: Homers in loss

Santander went 1-for-4 with a two-run home run in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Rangers.

The eighth-inning blast extended his hitting streak to eight games. In that span, he's gone 11-for-32 (.344) with four homers and nine RBI. Santander is on pace for a career year in power -- his 27 homers this season put him one shy of matching last year's total and six back of his career-best mark from 2022. He's added 66 RBI, 52 runs scored, 16 doubles, two triples, one stolen base and a .242/.307/.524 slash line over 94 contests.

  • Ryan Pepiot RP | TB

Rays' Ryan Pepiot: Set to be discharged Monday

Rays manager Kevin Cash said that Pepiot (knee) is expected to be released from a New York City hospital Monday and will fly back to Florida to continue receiving treatment, Ryan Bass of Bally Sports Sun reports.

Pepiot landed on the 15-day injured list Sunday with an infection in his left knee, but Cash added Monday that while the hurler has some residual soreness, he's walking and moving around fine. The right-hander will be eligible for activation Aug. 3 and looks to have a shot to be back by that date or shortly thereafter.

  • Blue Jays' Davis Schneider: Swipes bag Sunday

Schneider went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Sunday's win over the Tigers.

The 25-year-old utility player has yet to be caught stealing this season in four attempts, with his last pilfer before Sunday coming May 22. Schneider has started to pick his pace back up at the plate, going 7-for-19 (.368) while starting six of the last nine games, but all seven knocks have been singles, and he's added just one RBI and three runs.

  • Jon Berti 3B | CHC

Yankees' Jon Berti: Resumes activities Monday

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Berti (calf) hit and played catch Monday, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.

Berti recently experienced a setback with his left calf strain and received a platelet-rich plasma injection, but he was never completely shut down and should be ready for a rehab assignment before long. The utility player has been shelved since late May.

  • Nick Burdi RP | NYM

Yankees' Nick Burdi: Close to rehab assignment

Yankees manager Aaron Boone said Monday that Burdi (hip) could be ready for a rehab assignment by the end of next week, Chris Kirschner of The Athletic reports.

Burdi had a minor setback just before the All-Star break, but he's back on track and is slated to throw another live batting practice session soon. The right-hander's been on the shelf since late May with right hip inflammation but is tracking toward a return from the 60-day injured list in early August.

  • Jeremy Pena SS | HOU

Astros' Jeremy Pena: Homers in defeat

Pena went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Sunday's loss to the Mariners.

Pena connected on a 414-foot blast in the seventh inning off Collin Snider. It was his third home run in July and his eighth for the season, though he's struggled to a .190 batting average in 11 games since July 6. After hitting 22 homers in his rookie season, Pena has combined for just 18 since, but he is still putting together a productive season. The 26-year-old is slashing .274/.318/.387 with 43 RBI, 48 runs and an 18:66 BB:K in 404 plate appearances.

  • David Hamilton 3B | MIL

Red Sox's David Hamilton: Swipes two bags Sunday

Hamilton went 1-for-4 with two steals in Sunday's loss to the Red Sox.

Hamilton singled his first time up to lead off the second inning and wound up stealing second and third but was left stranded. It was the fifth time this year he stole multiple bases in a game, and Hamilton finds himself in a tie for third in the majors with 25 steals. The 26-year-old has yet to break through as an everyday player for the Red Sox, as he's been finding himself sitting against lefties. Still, Hamilton has shown plenty of improvement after struggling mightily in a brief taste of the majors last year. He's slashing .270/.323/.407 with five homers, 17 RBI, 34 runs and a 15:57 BB:K in 220 plate appearances.

  • Jarren Duran LF | BOS

Red Sox's Jarren Duran: Carries offense with four RBI

Duran went 2-for-5 with a two-run homer, a double, four RBI and two runs scored in Sunday's loss to the Dodgers.

Duran gave the Red Sox a quick 2-0 lead after taking James Paxton deep just three pitches into the game. He later ripped a two-run double off Evan Phillips in the ninth. Duran has 12 hits over his last 21 at-bats and has recorded multiple hits in six of his last eight games. The 27-year-old is in the midst of a breakout campaign and is slashing .290/.350/.500 with 12 homers, 48 RBI, 67 runs, 22 steals and a 36:101 BB:K in 453 plate appearances.

  • Taylor Walls SS | TB

Rays' Taylor Walls: Receiving Monday off

Walls is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Walls will get a breather for Monday's day game after he started each of the first three contests of the series versus the Yankees, going 1-for-7 with a double, three walks, a stolen base and a run. Jose Caballero will step in for Walls at shortstop.

  • Red Sox's Kutter Crawford: Surrenders five homers

Crawford dropped to 6-8 on the season in Sunday's 9-6 loss to the Dodgers after allowing six earned runs on seven hits while striking out two over five innings.

Crawford had given up just one home run and one run total across his three July starts heading into Sunday's outing, but he struggled to keep the ball in the yard in Los Angeles. He was staked to an early 2-0 lead, which disappeared by the third inning. He proceeded to serve up five solo home runs before all was said and done, while the sixth run he allowed coming on an RBI double by Gavin Lux in the first inning. His two strikeouts were also a season low, as he registered nine whiffs on 77 pitches. Sunday was certainly an outing to forget for the 28-year-old, though he's still been one of the better pitchers in the Red Sox rotation for much of the season. Crawford now owns a 3.37 ERA, 1.05 WHIP and 112:29 K:BB in 117.2 innings and will look to bounce back in his next start, which is expected to come against the Yankees next weekend.
