    Rays' Ben Rortvedt: Idle Friday

Rortvedt is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Cincinnati.

  • Ryan Burr RP | TOR

Blue Jays' Ryan Burr: Optioned to Triple-A

The Blue Jays optioned Burr to Triple-A Buffalo on Friday, Keegan Matheson of MLB.com reports.

The Jays are swapping out relievers, replacing Burr with Yerry Rodriguez. Burr holds a 5.40 ERA and 9:4 K:BB over 10 innings at the big-league level this season.

  • Rays' Richie Palacios: Taking seat against southpaw

Palacios is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Reds.

The lefty-hitting Palacios will dodge a matchup with Nick Lodolo on Friday. Jose Caballero will take Palacios' spot at second base.

  • Joshua Lowe LF | LAA

Rays' Josh Lowe: Not facing southpaw

Lowe is out of the lineup for Friday's game against Cincinnati.

Lowe will dodge a matchup with left-hander Nick Lodolo on Friday. Jonny DeLuca, Jose Siri and Amed Rosario will fill the outfield from left to right for the Rays' first game since trading Randy Arozarena to Seattle.

  • Brandon Lowe 2B | PIT

Rays' Brandon Lowe: On bench Friday

Lowe is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Reds.

Lowe will take a seat Friday with southpaw Nick Lodolo starting for Cincinnati. Instead, Isaac Paredes will DH while Jose Caballero plays second base.

  • Riley Greene LF | DET

Tigers' Riley Greene: Hits injured list

Greene was placed on the 10-day injured list Friday with a right hamstring strain.

Greene uncharacteristically was held out of the lineup Friday, and the team has now provided an explanation for why. Per Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic the strain is considered minor, which could indicate that Greene won't miss much more time than the minimum 10 days. In the meantime, Mark Canha, Bligh Madris and Ryan Vilade could see more action in the outfield.

  • Yankees' Jasson Dominguez: Reinstated from Triple-A IL

Dominguez (oblique) was activated from the 7-day injured list by Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Friday, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.

Dominguez missed nearly six weeks of action with a strained oblique. The top prospect has slashed .389/.405/.639 with two home runs in nine games during his time with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this season and will be a candidate to a promotion to the majors during the second half, particularly if the Yankees aren't able to add the offensive help they desire at the trade deadline.

  • Riley Greene LF | DET

Tigers' Riley Greene: Absent from starting nine Friday

Greene is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Twins.

Greene isn't part of the starting lineup for the third time in seven games despite right-hander Pablo Lopez being on the mound for Minnesota. As an everyday player for Detroit, Greene's string of absences is unusual, but as yet no explanation has been offered by the team. Mark Canha, Matt Vierling and Wenceel Perez will fill the outfield from left to right Friday.

  • Ryan Vilade RF | TB

Tigers' Ryan Vilade: Recalled from Triple-A

The Tigers recalled Vilade from Triple-A Toledo on Friday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Vilade could get some starts in the outfield against lefties with Riley Greene (hamstring) joining Parker Meadows (hamstring) on the injured list. He's 8-for-27 with a homer during his brief time in the majors this season.

  • Gio Urshela 3B | MIN

    Tigers' Gio Urshela: Sitting again

Urshela is out of the lineup for Friday's game against the Twins.

Urshela is absent from the Tigers' starting nine for a second consecutive game, yielding to Bligh Madris at first base. Urshela went hitless in seven at-bats during the Tigers' recent four-game series with the Guardians.
