MJ Melendez DH | NYM
Royals' MJ Melendez: Idle against lefty
Melendez is out of the lineup for Monday's game against Boston.
With the Royals facing a left-hander (James Paxton) for a second consecutive day, Melendez will take a seat on the bench once again Monday. Garrett Hampson, Kyle Isbel and Hunter Renfroe will fill out the Kansas City outfield from left to right.

Paul DeJong SS | DET
Royals' Paul DeJong: Resting Monday
DeJong is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Red Sox.
DeJong had started in three consecutive games, going 3-for-11 with a home run and four RBI during that stretch. However, he'll give way to Maikel Garcia at third base Monday.

Jonah Heim C | ATH
Rangers' Jonah Heim: Idle Monday
Heim is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Astros.
After starting behind the plate Saturday and Sunday against the Red Sox, Heim will take a seat for Monday's series opener. In Heim's place, Carson Kelly will bat ninth and handle catching duties.
-
Wyatt Langford LF | TEX
Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Returns to lineup
Langford (back) will bat fifth and serve as the Rangers' designated hitter Monday against the Astros.
Langford missed the Rangers' last two games due to back tightness, but he'll be back in action for Monday's contest. Still, the 22-year-old will get a day off from the outfield, serving as the DH. Langford is slashing .245/.309/.375 through 356 plate appearances during his rookie season.

Tyler O'Neill RF | BAL
Red Sox's Tyler O'Neill: Still out of lineup
O'Neill (illness) is absent from the starting nine for Monday's game against the Royals, Pete Abraham of The Boston Globe reports.
O'Neill will be idle for a third consecutive game due to a stomach virus, though he may be available off the bench Monday. Jarren Duran will slide to left field while Ceddanne Rafaela covers center field.

Connor Gillispie SP | PHI
Guardians' Connor Gillispie: Sent back to Triple-A
The Guardians optioned Gillispie to Triple-A Columbus on Monday.
Gillispie was brought up to the big club Sunday and gave up one earned run on two hits and two walks while striking out three over three innings of relief in his MLB debut in Cleveland's 9-5 loss to Baltimore. Since he was unlikely to be available out of the bullpen for at least the next couple of days, Gillispie will move off the active roster to clear room for Logan Allen, who was called up from Columbus to start Monday against the Diamondbacks. Gillispie has logged a 4.01 ERA across 89.2 innings for Columbus this season.

Logan Taylor Allen RP | CLE
Guardians' Logan Allen: Called up to start Monday
The Guardians recalled Allen from Triple-A Columbus ahead of his scheduled start Monday against the Diamondbacks.
Tanner Bibee still needs more time off to move past a shoulder injury, so the Guardians will bring back Allen to make his first start for the big club since July 6. After a solid rookie campaign in 2023, Allen turned in a 5.67 ERA over 18 starts this season before the Guardians sent the struggling lefty to the minors. Though he's rebounded over his three starts at Triple-A with a 3.86 ERA, Allen has given up three long balls while turning in an underwhelming 12:7 K:BB in 16.1 innings. Since Allen doesn't seem to have completely righted the ship during his time in the minors, he's tough to rely on as a streaming option against an Arizona lineup that has produced a 117 wRC+ versus lefties this season.

Brooks Lee 3B | MIN
Twins' Brooks Lee: On bench again
Lee is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.
Lee started in 24 consecutive games after being called up from Triple-A St. Paul, but he's been out of the starting nine in consecutive games, with both absences coming against righties. Austin Martin will cover second base once again and may have vaulted ahead of Lee on the depth chart while the latter player has slashed .174/.259/.174 over his last seven games.

Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: On bench Monday
Buxton (undisclosed) is out of the lineup for Monday's game against the Cubs.
Buxton was removed from Sunday's win over the White Sox after colliding with the outfield wall while making a leaping catch, but the Twins revealed following the game that the 30-year-old was medically cleared and removed strictly as a precaution. The center fielder's absence from the lineup Monday might suggest otherwise, so fantasy managers will want to keep close tabs on Buxton's status in the days to come. Manuel Margot will cover center field Monday and bat eighth.
