Carlos Correa SS | HOU
Twins' Carlos Correa: Still no timetable for return
Correa (heel) ran Tuesday and has been hitting and fielding, but there's still no timetable for his return, Phil Miller of the Minnesota Star Tribune reports. "He's still having some discomfort. As cliche as it sounds, it's truly day-to-day on how he's going to feel and what we can do with him," said Twins head athletic trainer Nick Paparesta.
Correa was placed on the 10-day injured list July 20 due to right plantar fasciitis. It initially didn't appear he would be out long, but he still has soreness after running. He may not return until sometime in September as a result.

Edwin Uceta RP | TB
Rays' Edwin Uceta: Grabs first post-Fairbanks save
Uceta struck out one over 1.1 perfect innings to earn the save in Tuesday's 1-0 win over the Athletics.
Uceta received the first save opportunity since Pete Fairbanks (lat) went on the injured list Monday, and he went on to record his first major-league save. Uceta retired four batters on a total of nine pitches (seven strikes), extending his scoreless streak to 10.1 innings in the process. He emerged as a setup man after the All-Star break and now has a chance to be part of a closing committee that doesn't have a clear favorite to lead the way just yet. For the year, Uceta has a 0.90 ERA, 0.57 WHIP and 36:4 K:BB over 30 innings. While he doesn't have stellar velocity -- he doesn't throw a four-seamer, and his fastest pitch is a 93.9 mph sinker -- Uceta continues to thrive mostly by inducing weak contact and getting batters to chase pitches at an above-average rate.

Byron Buxton CF | MIN
Twins' Byron Buxton: Could return Friday
Buxton (hip) could be activated from the 10-day IL on Friday if he feels well after working out this week, the St. Paul Pioneer Press reports. "He has been hitting in the cage, throwing, doing outfield work," Twins head athletic trainer Paparesta said. "Things are going well, progressing along nicely."
Buxton left a game Aug. 12 due to right hip inflammation and subsequently received a cortisone shot. It sounds like the Twins will check his status Thursday and Friday before making a decision, and it wouldn't be surprising if they play it safe and delay his return if there's any sign of soreness.

Shane Baz SP | BAL
Rays' Shane Baz: Wins pitching duel
Baz (1-2) allowed three hits and three walks while striking out four over 7.2 shutout innings to earn the win over the Athletics on Tuesday.
Baz gave up more baserunners than Oakland starter Joey Estes, but he was able to keep the hosts off the scoreboard. This was the second outing in a row where Baz reached the seven-inning mark, and he's now logged quality starts in four of his eight outings this season. For the season, he's at a 3.48 ERA, 1.32 WHIP and 36:17 K:BB over 44 innings. Baz will have a tougher matchup his next time out, as he's projected for a road start versus the Dodgers.

Brayan Rocchio SS | CLE
Guardians' Brayan Rocchio: Fills stat sheet in win
Rocchio went 3-for-5 with a solo home run, a walk and a stolen base in Tuesday's 9-5 extra-innings win over the Yankees.
This was the first time in Rocchio's major-league career he homered and swiped a bag in the same game. Despite the fantastic effort, the steal was his first since May, and he entered Tuesday having gone just 4-for-24 over his previous 10 games. On the season, the 23-year-old is hitting .210 with six home runs, 27 RBI, 40 runs scored and nine stolen bases across 344 plate appearances.

Joey Estes SP | ATH
Athletics' Joey Estes: Outdueled by Baz in loss to Rays
Estes (5-6) allowed one run on three hits and a walk while striking out five over 7.2 innings, taking the loss versus the Rays on Tuesday.
It was a stellar pitching duel between Estes and Shane Baz, but Estes blinked first when he gave up a solo home run to Jose Siri in the eighth inning for the lone run of the game. This is the third time in 18 appearances (17 starts) that Estes has gone at least seven innings. He also hasn't allowed more than three runs in any of his last seven appearances. The right-hander is at a 4.44 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 71:22 K:BB through 95.1 innings on the year. Estes is projected to make his next start at home versus the NL Central-leading Brewers.

Yainer Diaz C | HOU
Astros' Yainer Diaz: Homers in three straight games
Diaz went 2-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-5 loss to the Red Sox.
Diaz homered for the third game in a row, and this was his fourth consecutive multi-hit effort. The catcher is up to 15 long balls through 114 contests, though he's hit five of them over his last 11 games. He's added a reliable .301/.326/.463 slash line, 71 RBI, 54 runs scored, 21 doubles and one stolen base this season.

Bobby Witt SS | KC
Royals' Bobby Witt: Three-hit effort in loss
Witt went 3-for-5 with two doubles, one RBI and two runs scored in Tuesday's 9-5 loss to the Angels.
Witt's on another heater at the plate, having gone 15-for-35 (.429) during a nine-game hitting streak. In that span, he's added eight extra-base hits, eight RBI and 11 runs scored, though he hasn't stolen a base since Aug. 2. The superstar shortstop is up to a .352/.401/.618 slash line with 25 home runs, 25 steals, 92 RBI, 110 runs scored, 37 doubles and 11 triples over 126 contests this season.

Aaron Judge RF | NYY
Yankees' Aaron Judge: Hits 45th homer in loss
Judge went 2-for-5 with a home run, a double, a walk and three RBI in Tuesday's 9-5 extra-innings loss to the Guardians.
Judge went back-to-back with Juan Soto off Matthew Boyd in the first inning and then added a two-run double in the 12th frame. The 32-year-old continues to crush the ball in August, hitting safely in nine of his past 10 games with six multi-hit efforts and four home runs. He extended his league lead in long balls over Shohei Ohtani to six and owns a .332 average, 114 RBI and 97 runs scored across 556 plate appearances.

Cole Ragans RP | KC
Royals' Cole Ragans: Win streak ends Tuesday
Ragans (10-8) allowed five runs (four earned) on three hits and three walks while striking out nine over five-plus innings to take the loss Tuesday versus the Angels.
Ragans had won three straight starts and five of his last six entering Tuesday. The Angels were able to tag him for multiple runs in the fourth and sixth innings, and the Royals' offense didn't cover the damage. Ragans has had few poor outings -- this was just the sixth time all year he's given up four or more runs. Ragans has a 3.31 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 183:50 K:BB over 152.1 innings through 26 starts. The southpaw's next outing is projected to be on the road in Cleveland.
