  • Kyle Manzardo 1B | CLE

Guardians' Kyle Manzardo: Three-hit effort in win

Manzardo went 3-for-4 with a double in Tuesday's 7-1 win over the Royals.

Manzardo has multiple hits in two of three games since he rejoined the big-league roster. He's gone 5-for-10 with two home runs in that span. The 24-year-old is slashing .239/.276/.424 with two homers, nine RBI, six runs scored, 11 doubles and no stolen bases over 98 plate appearances. He's started three straight games at designated hitter since his recall and looks to be cutting into Will Brennan's playing time, though the right-handed-hitting Jhonkensy Noel could be the one to lose out more often versus right-handed pitchers in the long run.

  • Zachary Neto SS | LAA

Angels' Zach Neto: Registers another steal

Neto went 2-for-4 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 6-2 extra-inning loss to the Dodgers.

Neto has four steals over his last eight games despite going a paltry 5-for-27 (.185) in that span. Tuesday's effort was his first multi-hit game since Aug. 20. The shortstop is at a .252/.319/.446 slash line with 20 home runs, 26 steals, 66 RBI and 60 runs scored over 134 contests this season.

  • Taylor Ward RF | SEA

Angels' Taylor Ward: Reaches 20-homer mark

Ward went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Tuesday's 6-2 extra-inning loss to the Dodgers.

For the second time in three years, Ward has reached the 20-homer mark, doing so this time with a fifth-inning solo shot. He's surged to the milestone, as he's hit four long balls during his active 13-game hitting streak. In that span, Ward has added six RBI, three doubles, two triples, a steal and seven runs scored while batting .294 (15-for-51). He's up to a .240/.311/.420 slash line with 62 RBI, 59 runs scored, 25 doubles and four steals over 132 contests this season.

  • Logan O'Hoppe DH | TEX

Angels' Logan O'Hoppe: Clubs homer in loss

O'Hoppe went 1-for-3 with a solo home run and a walk in Tuesday's 6-2 extra-inning loss to the Dodgers.

O'Hoppe opened the scoring in the second inning with a solo shot off Walker Buehler. Over the previous nine games, O'Hoppe went just 1-for-30 with a 1:18 BB:K. The catcher has put together a good year with 18 homers, 51 RBI, 53 runs scored, two stolen bases and a .242/.300/.409 slash line over 118 contests, but it's possible he's wearing down under a heavy workload in his first full and healthy major-league campaign.

  • Reid Detmers SP | LAA

Angels' Reid Detmers: Strong in return to majors

Detmers allowed two runs on three hits and two walks while striking out 10 over six innings in a no-decision versus the Dodgers on Tuesday.

Detmers had allowed at least three runs in eight straight outings before being sent to Triple-A Salt Lake at the beginning of June. He was able to post a quality start in his return, throwing 68 of 100 pitches for strikes. That poor stretch earlier in the year will be tough to overcome in the season-long numbers, which have Detmers at a 5.87 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 80:29 K:BB through 69 innings over 13 starts. He's expected to remain in the rotation moving forward as the Angels roll with six starters, which puts him in line to make his next start at Minnesota.

  • Andres Munoz RP | SEA

Mariners' Andres Munoz: Battling elbow soreness

Munoz said after Tuesday's game that he is dealing with a bit of soreness in his elbow, Ryan Divish of The Seattle Times reports.

Munoz noted that the issue wasn't serious enough to make him unavailable in a save situation Tuesday, but it may still be something worth keeping an eye on. The 25-year-old has bounced back nicely from his three-run outing against the Dodgers on Aug. 20, allowing one earned run and striking out eight batters across his last 3.2 innings.

  • Anthony Volpe SS | NYY

Yankees' Anthony Volpe: Notches steal, drives in two

Volpe went 2-for-4 with two RBI, a stolen base and a run scored in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to the Rangers.

Volpe's two-run single in the eighth inning gave the Yankees a 4-1 lead, but the bullpen faltered over the last two innings. This was Volpe's fourth multi-hit effort over his last eight games, and he's batting .414 (12-for-29) with seven RBI in that span. The shortstop is up to 26 steals on 31 attempts this year while adding 11 home runs, 54 RBI, 84 runs scored and a .255/.305/.387 slash line through 138 contests.

  • Clay Holmes SP | CHC

Yankees' Clay Holmes: Melts down Tuesday

Holmes (2-5) took the loss and a blown save in Tuesday's 7-4 loss to the Rangers, allowing four runs on two hits and two walks over one-third of an inning.

Holmes threw just 12 of 25 pitches for strikes. He loaded the bases and then gave up a walk-off grand slam to Wyatt Langford to complete the Yankees' collapse. Holmes has now blown five saves in 13 chances since the All-Star break, though he had converted three in a row while not allowing a run over his previous five appearances (4.2 innings) entering Tuesday. For the season, Holmes is 29-for-40 in save chances with a 3.27 ERA, 1.33 WHIP and 60:19 K:BB through 55 innings. His struggles in August didn't cost him the closer role, but Mark Leiter and Luke Weaver would be most likely to pick up any ancillary saves if Holmes' share of the ninth inning decreases.

  • Carlos Rodon SP | NYY

Yankees' Carlos Rodon: Fans 11 in no-decision

Rodon allowed one run on one hit and two walks while striking out 11 over six innings in a no-decision versus the Rangers on Tuesday.

The lone hit run on Rodon's line was a solo home run by Josh Jung in the fourth inning. The Yankees pulled ahead 2-1 in the seventh, but the bullpen couldn't hold the lead, denying Rodon his 15th victory of the year. It was still an excellent performance for the southpaw, who has alternated between good and poor outings since the start of August. He's allowed 13 runs over 32 innings in that span and now has a 4.19 ERA, 1.22 WHIP and 172:49 K:BB through 152.1 innings overall. Rodon's next start is projected to be at home versus the Royals.

  • Wyatt Langford LF | TEX

Rangers' Wyatt Langford: Walks it off with grand slam

Langford went 1-for-5 with a walk-off grand slam in Tuesday's 7-4 win over the Yankees.

The Rangers were able to load the bases in the bottom of the ninth inning, and Langford delivered a grand slam for his first career walk-off homer. He's up to 10 homers this year, four of which he's swatted over his last 17 games. In that span, he's gone 17-for-61 (.279) with 16 RBI, 11 runs scored and a stolen base. The rookie outfielder has a .243/.313/.382 slash line with 60 RBI, 52 runs scored and 12 steals over 111 contests.
