  • Emmanuel Clase RP | CLE

Guardians' Emmanuel Clase: Picks up 43rd save

Clase earned a save against the White Sox on Monday, allowing one hit and striking out two batters in a scoreless inning of work.

Clase entered in the ninth inning with a two-run lead and gave up just a harmless two-out infield single. The veteran closer punched out two of the four batters he faced -- just the second time he's recorded multiple strikeouts across his past 10 appearances. Clase is posting under a strikeout per inning for the second straight season, but that hasn't prevented him from putting together a dominant campaign. The right-hander is tied for the major-league lead with 43 saves -- one shy of the career-high mark he established last season -- and has registered a 0.68 ERA and 0.66 WHIP over 66.1innings.

  • Tyler O'Neill RF | BAL

    Red Sox's Tyler O'Neill: Another multi-homer game

O'Neill went 3-for-5 with two solo home runs and an RBI groundout during Monday's 12-3 win over the Orioles.

O'Neill notched his second two-homer game in three days and his seventh multi-homer performance of 2024. The 29-year-old tagged Cade Povich and Cole Irvin for solo homers in the third and eighth innings, respectively, bringing his home run total to 29. He's now five long balls away from tying his career high, which was set back in 2021. O'Neill has a .894 OPS this year.

  • Rob Refsnyder DH | SEA

Red Sox's Rob Refsnyder: Clubs pair of homers

Refsnyder went 4-for-4 with a two-run home run, a solo home run a double and a two-RBI single during Monday's 12-3 win over the Orioles.

Refsnyder set a career high with five RBI on Monday and notched his second career multi-homer game. The long balls came off Cade Povich in the third inning and Cole Irvin in the eighth inning. Refsnyder is up to 10 home runs this season, and he's slashing .285/.362/.474 in 305 plate appearances.

  • Joey Cantillo SP | CLE

Guardians' Joey Cantillo: Fans 10 in first MLB victory

Cantillo (1-3) earned the win over the White Sox on Monday, allowing one run on two hits while striking out 10 batters over seven innings.

Cantillo made things look easy against an unintimidating White Sox lineup, racking up 14 whiffs and carrying a perfect game into the bottom of the seventh frame. The rookie southpaw faded a bit in that inning, giving up a pair of two-out singles sandwiched around a wild pitch that allowed Chicago to get on the scoreboard, but that took only a tiny bit of shine off what was by far the best performance of his big-league career thus far. Given Cantillo's performance Monday, it wouldn't be surprising if he gets another turn in the rotation, though it's not clear how Cleveland would adjust its rotation to fit him in -- his opportunity Monday came as a result of the struggling Ben Lively having his scheduled start pushed back.

  • Orioles' Anthony Santander: Hits homer No. 40

Santander went 2-for-4 with a solo home run, an RBI single and an RBI walk during Monday's 12-3 loss to the Red Sox.

Santander drove in all three of the Orioles' runs Monday and clobbered a solo homer in the seventh inning off Josh Winckowski. The outfielder became the third player to reach the 40-homer milestone this season, joining Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani. Santander is slashing .241/.310/.516 across 596 plate appearances in 2024.

  • Royals' Salvador Perez: Four hits, homer

Perez went 4-for-4 with a solo home run and two RBI singles during Monday's 10-4 loss to the Yankees.

Perez entered Monday's game 4-for-40 in his last 11 outings but burst out of the slump in extravagant fashion. The 34-year-old launched his 26th home run of the season and reached safely in all four at-bats. Perez is slashing .275/.335/.474 with 98 RBI and 56 runs in 2024.

  • Austin Wells C | NYY

Yankees' Austin Wells: Lifts three-run homer

Wells went 2-for-5 with a three-run home run and an RBI double during Monday's 10-4 win over the Royals.

Wells tied his season high in RBI on Monday, launching a three-run home run off James McArthur in the seventh inning before tacking on a double in the eighth. Wells is up to 13 home runs on the season, and he's slashing .252/.342/.438 across 358 plate appearances.

  • Brady Singer SP | CIN

Royals' Brady Singer: Decent in no-decision

Singer didn't factor into the decision Monday against the Yankees, allowing three runs on five hits and three walks across five innings. He struck out three.

All three runs attributed to Singer came in the fourth inning when Singer yielded a pair of hits -- including a two-run home run to Alex Verdugo -- and a walk. The start pushed Singer's season inning total to a career-high 163.1 and the right-hander holds a 3.42 ERA and a 153:46 K:BB. He's on track to face the Pirates in Pittsburgh this weekend.

  • Carlos Rodon SP | NYY

Yankees' Carlos Rodon: Nabs quality start

Rodon didn't factor into the decision Monday against Kansas City, allowing four runs (three earned) on six hits and a walk across six innings. He struck out nine.

Rodon fanned eight or more batters for a third straight start but gave up his third and fourth home runs of that stretch Monday. Both long balls charged to Rodon were solo shots, coming off the bats of Salvador Perez and Hunter Renfroe. Still, the left-handed pitcher held on for the quality start. Rodon is tentatively scheduled for a home start against the Red Sox this weekend.

  • Brayan Bello RP | BOS

Red Sox's Brayan Bello: Wild in 13th win

Bello (13-7) picked up the win Monday against Baltimore, allowing two runs on three hits and five walks across 5.1 innings. He struck out five.

Just 62 of Bello's 101 pitches found the strike zone Monday, and he tied his career high in walks. The right-hander was given an extra day of rest between starts, making an appearance against Baltimore on Monday instead of the lowly White Sox. Through 27 starts, Bello has a 4.70 ERA and a 140:58 K:BB across 147.1 innings. He's one of 12 pitchers to have 13 or more wins. Bello is tentatively scheduled to face the Yankees this weekend.
