Duran made a fourth consecutive start and sixth over the last seven contests. Andres Gimenez SS | TOR
Guardians' Andres Gimenez: Swipes bag in win
Gimenez went 2-for-5 with a stolen base and one RBI in Tuesday's 5-0 win over the White Sox.
Gimenez saw a seven-game hitting streak end Monday, but he was right back at it with his second multi-hit effort of the month. The second baseman's improved batting in the second half of the season has helped him return to the No. 2 spot in the order versus right-handers after spending much of the campaign in the bottom half of the lineup. Gimenez is now at a .254/.304/.342 slash line with 28 steals, eight home runs, 58 RBI and 60 runs scored over 137 contests.

This was Avila's third win over his last 13 appearances, but he's allowed eight runs across 13.2 innings in that span. The right-hander has pitched to a 3.99 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 79:32 K:BB over 76.2 innings between the Guardians and the Padres this year. Kirby (11-11) took the loss Tuesday against the Padres, allowing five runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out four over five innings.
Three of the seven hits allowed by Kirby went for extra bases, which included a three-run blast from Fernando Tatis in the third and a two-run shot by Manny Machado in the fifth to knock Kirby from the game. He's now allowed 28 runs over his last 31 innings. It was the third time over his last six starts allowing at least five runs and his third game allowing multiple home runs. The 26-year-old will carry a 3.77 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 166:22 K:BB (172 innings) into a start at home against the Rangers this weekend.

Nathan Eovaldi SP | TEX
Rangers' Nathan Eovaldi: No help in Tuesday's loss
Eovaldi (11-8) allowed four runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out six over five innings to take the loss versus the Diamondbacks on Tuesday.
Eovaldi gave up back-to-back home runs to Joc Pederson and Christian Walker in the first inning, and Walker got to him for a two-run blast in the third as well. This was the first time in six starts that Eovaldi had given up multiple homers, something he's done just five times this season. His three-start winning streak came to an end, and he now has a 3.67 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and 150:36 K:BB through 152 innings over 26 starts this season. Eovaldi's next start is projected to be at home versus the Blue Jays, as the Rangers will build in some rest for their starters with the returns of Jacob deGrom (elbow) and Max Scherzer (shoulder) during this weekend's four-game series versus the Mariners.

Yordan Alvarez DH | HOU
Astros' Yordan Alvarez: Posts steal Tuesday
Alvarez went 2-for-6 with a stolen base in Tuesday's 4-3 extra-innings loss to the Athletics.
Alvarez has multiple hits in three of the last four games, though he's also gone hitless three times over eight contests in September. The slugger's steal was his seventh of the year after he had never stolen more than one base in a single season. Spencer Arrighetti RP | TOR
Astros' Spencer Arrighetti: Bounces back with no-decision
Arrighetti allowed two runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out seven over 6.2 innings in a no-decision versus the Athletics on Tuesday.
Arrighetti gave up a run in each of the first two innings, including a solo home run to Zack Gelof, but he was able to settle in after that. This was a good bounce-back performance for Arrighetti after he failed to complete one inning in Cincinnati in his previous start. The rookie right-hander is now at a 4.72 ERA, 1.42 WHIP and 158:61 K:BB through 131.2 innings over 26 starts this season, though he's allowed three or more runs just four times in his last nine starts. Arrighetti is projected to make his next start at San Diego with the Astros expected to use a six-man rotation this week.
