Jorge Polanco DH | NYM
Mariners' Jorge Polanco: Getting Sunday off
Polanco is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Rangers.
Polanco will be joined on the bench by Josh Rojas, Luke Raley and Cal Raleigh as the Mariners give some regulars a breather in a day game after a night game. Dylan Moore will check in at second base in place of Polanco, who has gone just 5-for-40 (.125 average) at the plate thus far in September.

Jason Foley RP | SF
Tigers' Jason Foley: Locks down 23rd save
Foley earned the save Sunday, striking out two over 1.1 perfect innings against the Orioles.
Foley was called upon to finish out the eighth inning after an Adley Rutschman homer brought the Orioles to within one. He struck out Coby Mayo, then retired the side in the ninth to finish off his 23rd save of the season. It was a nice rebound effort for Foley, who had allowed two runs in his last appearance, the first time he had allowed an earned run since the end of July.

Luke Raley RF | SEA
Mariners' Luke Raley: Out of Sunday's lineup
Raley is not in the lineup for Sunday's game versus the Rangers.
Raley will hit the bench Sunday after a span of nine straight starts, during which he went 11-for-33 with five doubles, three homers, two steals, 10 RBI and six runs. Justin Turner is manning first base while Mitch Haniger serves as the designated hitter.

Jordyn Adams CF | MIL
Angels' Jordyn Adams: Getting fourth straight start
Adams will start in right field and bat eighth in Sunday's game against the Astros.
Adams will pick up his fourth consecutive start in right field and should be in line for a near-everyday role over the final two weeks of the season if Kevin Pillar (thumb) and Bryce Teodosio (finger) are unable to return. Since joining the Angels on Sept. 7 following his promotion from Triple-A Salt Lake, Adams has gone 4-for-16 with a home run, a stolen base, a walk, two RBI and two runs.

Michael Stefanic 2B | ATH
Angels' Michael Stefanic: Not starting Sunday
Stefanic (calf) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros.
Stefanic will be on the bench for a second straight game while he tends to a right calf injury. With Brandon Drury (hamstring) also day-to-day and not included in the lineup, the Angels will have spots available in the infield for Jack Lopez at second base and Eric Wagaman at third base.

Ben Joyce RP | LAA
Angels' Ben Joyce: Done for season
Angels manager Ron Washington confirmed Sunday that Joyce (shoulder) won't return from the 15-day injured list this season, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
Joyce's placement on the IL is retroactive to Sept. 7, but the Angels won't rush him back for the final week of the season even though an MRI on his right shoulder returned clean. The hard-throwing right-hander has been diagnosed with an impingement in his right shoulder, but he should be in store for a normal offseason. Barring any high-profile additions to the bullpen this winter, Joyce will likely head into spring training as the favorite to open the 2025 campaign as the Angels' closer. After getting called up from the minors in early June, Joyce produced a 2.08 ERA, 1.15 WHIP and 33:14 K:BB over 34.2 innings while collecting two wins and eight holds and going 4-for-4 in save opportunities.
-
Brandon Drury 2B | KC
Angels' Brandon Drury: Still sitting Sunday
Drury (hamstring) is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Astros, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.
It's the third consecutive absence for Drury due to hamstring tightness, which first surfaced during Wednesday's matchup with the Twins. Jack Lopez is starting at the keystone and batting ninth in the series finale versus Houston.
-
Josh Jung 3B | TEX
Rangers' Josh Jung: Not in Sunday's lineup
Jung is out of the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.
Jung started the first 13 games of September and will receive Sunday off after he began the month with three homers and an .881 OPS. Ezequiel Duran will shift to the hot corner while Carson Kelly receives a start at designated hitter.
-
Adolis Garcia RF | PHI
Rangers' Adolis Garcia: Out of Sunday's lineup
Garcia is not in the lineup for Sunday's game against the Mariners.
Garcia is mired in a 3-for-29 slump over his past eight games and will sit Sunday, ending a run of 39 consecutive starts. Travis Jankowski will receive a start in right field and bat ninth in the series finale in Seattle.
