Kristian Campbell 2B | BOS
Red Sox's Kristian Campbell: Working out at keystone exclusively
Campbell said Monday that he's been working out at second base almost exclusively during spring training, Rob Bradford of WEEI.com reports.
Presumably, that's been at the directive of the Red Sox, which is notable with the team not yet revealing which positions Alex Bregman and Rafael Devers will play this season. Campbell's playing time in the minors in 2024 was split fairly evenly between second base, shortstop and center field, with some third base mixed in. If Campbell wins a starting job this spring, it appears likely to be at second base, which would presumably result in Bregman playing third base and Devers shifting to designated hitter and/or first base.

Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Still not swinging bat
Stanton disclosed Monday that he hasn't swung a bat in 3-to-4 weeks and is dealing with a "very high" level of pain in both elbows, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
Stanton is dealing with tennis elbow in both arms, which is something he battled for much of last season, as well. The veteran designated hitter admitted that he's not sure that he will be ready in time for Opening Day. If Stanton requires a stint on the injured list, the Yankees could mix and match with some of their regular position players in the DH spot.

Luke Maile C | KC
Royals' Luke Maile: Inks minor-league deal with Royals
Maile agreed to a minor-league contract with the Royals on Sunday that includes an invite to big-league camp.
Maile appeared in 55 games with the Reds in 2024, batting .178 with two home runs, eight RBI, eight runs scored and two stolen bases over 135 at-bats. The catcher will attend spring training with Kansas City, and he'll look to impress in order to potentially secure a spot on the Royals' 26-man roster at some point in 2025.

Amir Garrett RP | TOR
Blue Jays' Amir Garrett: Latches on with Toronto
Garrett agreed to a minor-league contract with the Blue Jays on Sunday, Ben Nicholson-Smith of Sportsnet.ca reports.
Garrett joined the Angels on a minor-league deal for 2024 but had a 5.08 ERA at Triple-A Salt Lake and made just six appearances in the big leagues. The left-hander will need a strong showing in camp to make Toronto's Opening Day roster, otherwise he's likely to open the campaign at Triple-A Buffalo.

David Fry LF | CLE
Guardians' David Fry: Elbow responding well
Fry's surgically repaired elbow is responding well to treatment, and he's due for his next re-check in March.
Fry was limited to DH duty for the Guardians toward the end of the season in 2024. It's unclear if he'll get a chance to play behind the plate at all when he returns. If not, Fry will lose his catcher eligibility in 2026 leagues.

Trent Grisham CF | NYY
Yankees' Trent Grisham: Returning from hamstring issue
Manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Grisham pulled his hamstring in January but has since resumed baseball activities, Gary Phillips of the New York Daily News reports.
Grisham will be a bit delayed to start spring training, but it doesn't appear it will affect his availability for the start of the regular season. The 28-year-old was running close to full speed Sunday, per Bryan Hoch of MLB.com, so he could receive full clearance before too long.

Jorge Soler DH | LAA
Angels' Jorge Soler: Expected to bat near top of lineup
Angels manager Ron Washington said Friday that he expects Soler, Mike Trout and Taylor Ward to be the top three batters in the lineup, though not necessarily in that order, Sam Blum of The Athletic reports.
Soler is no stranger to the top of the lineup, as he was primarily slotted in the first third of the order -- including 41 times he batted leadoff -- during his stints with San Francisco and Atlanta last season. Though he batted just .241 overall, the veteran slugger reached base at a .338 clip with the help of a career-best 12.1 percent walk rate. It's not yet clear the exact spot Soler will occupy in the Angels' lineup, and Washington added that it's possible one of the three players he mentioned could instead hit cleanup, but Soler could benefit in terms of run-scoring or run-producing opportunities with a place near Trout if the latter can remain healthy.

Giancarlo Stanton DH | NYY
Yankees' Giancarlo Stanton: Managing elbow issues
Manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that Stanton will be moved along slowly early in spring training due to discomfort in both elbows, Bryan Hoch of MLB.com reports.
The skipper compared the issues to tennis elbow, which Stanton also played through down the stretch last season. The veteran slugger still has nearly six weeks before Opening Day, but it could be an ominous early development for a player that has seen action in fewer than 120 regular-season games in each of the past three seasons.

Emiliano Teodo RP | TEX
Rangers' Emiliano Teodo: Back to throwing
Teodo (thumb) threw a bullpen session Sunday with no apparent issues, Evan Grant of The Dallas Morning News reports.
The right-hander was pulled from his bullpen session Saturday due to thumb soreness, but the fact he returned to throwing a day later indicates it wasn't a serious concern. Teodo is one of the organization's top prospects and posted a 1.98 ERA, 1.20 WHIP and 110:50 K:BB across 86.1 innings at the Double-A level last year.

Robert Garcia RP | TEX
Rangers' Robert Garcia: Bullpen on tap
Garcia (forearm) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session Tuesday, Kennedi Landry of MLB.com reports.
The left-hander was shut down from throwing for a few days after reporting to camp with nerve irritation in his left forearm, but he's poised to get back on the mound Tuesday. Assuming Garcia doesn't experience a recurrence of the injury, he should have plenty of time to be fully built up for Opening Day.
