Gimenez went 0-for-2 with two walks, an RBI, two runs scored and two stolen bases in Monday's win over the Red Sox.

The 26-year-old infielder has been flashing surprising power in the early going this season, but speed remains an important part of his skill set. Gimenez stole exactly 30 bags in each of the prior two seasons with the Guardians, and he's 3-for-4 on steal attempts through 11 games to begin his stint as a Blue Jay.

The Guardians transferred Means (elbow) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday.

The left-hander is only about 10 months removed from undergoing his second career Tommy John surgery, so it was only a matter of time before he was moved to the 60-day IL. Means continues to ramp up his throwing program and isn't expected to be ready for game action until late in the season.

Triple-A Durham placed Morgan on the 7-day injured list with a quad injury, Sam Dykstra of MLB Pipeline reports.

Morgan didn't necessarily master Double-A as a hitter (102 wRC+) in 21 games last year, but with fellow Rays first base prospects Xavier Isaac (elbow) and Will Simpson being Double-A ready, Morgan was pushed to Triple-A. He is one of the best defensive first basemen in the world and an excellent contact hitter, but Morgan's power is fringe-average at best, so he has very clear strengths and weaknesses.

The Guardians acquired Bolton from the Mariners on Tuesday in exchange for cash considerations.

Bolton had been designated for assignment and is now on the move to a new 40-man roster. The 26-year-old has been assigned to Triple-A Columbus, where he will represent relief depth for Cleveland.

The Tigers transferred Perez (back) from the 15-day injured list to the 60-day IL on Tuesday.

The transaction frees up a spot on the 40-man roster for catcher Tomas Nido, whose contract was selected from Triple-A Toledo. As a result of the move, Perez won't be eligible to make his 2025 debut with the Tigers until late May while he recovers from lumbar spine inflammation. He recently received a second cortisone injection in his back and has yet to resume baseball activities.

The Tigers selected Nido's contract from Triple-A Toledo on Tuesday, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

He'll serve as Detroit's No. 2 catcher behind Dillon Dingler while Jake Rogers (oblique) is on the 10-day injured list. Nido is a defense-first catcher who owns a career .554 OPS over parts of eight big-league seasons.

The Tigers placed Rogers on the 10-day injured list Tuesday due to a left oblique strain, Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic reports.

Rogers tweaked his oblique in the batting cage Tuesday and the team has opted to go ahead and place him on the IL. He will be eligible to return April 18, but it's too soon to know whether Rogers might be activated at that time. Thomas Nido was called up from Triple-A Toledo in a corresponding move and will serve as Detroit's No. 2 catcher while Dillon Dingler takes over as the team's primary backstop.

Benintendi (adductor) is out of the lineup for Tuesday's game in Cleveland.

Benintendi departed Sunday's game versus the Tigers due to left adductor tightness and is still not well enough to play after the White Sox's team off day Monday. The good news is he has not yet been placed on the 10-day injured list, so the White Sox are seemingly considering him day-to-day for the time being. Brooks Baldwin will start left field and bat eighth in Tuesday's series opener.

Rogers was scratched from Tuesday's lineup versus the Yankees due to left oblique tightness, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Oblique injuries often lead to stints on the injured list, although it's not yet clear whether Rogers' is serious enough to warrant a trip to the IL. Dillon Dingler has replaced him in the lineup and would be in line for an uptick in playing time should Rogers miss additional time.

Single-A Modesto placed Gough on the full-season injured list as he recovers from Tommy John surgery he underwent in September, Jonathan Mayo of MLB Pipeline reports.

Gough had a 3.21 ERA for Modesto over the first three months last year but faded in the second half before getting shut down in late August with an elbow injury that required surgery. He will miss the full season and should be fully recovered for spring training in 2026.
