Lopez left his start Tuesday against Kansas City in the fifth inning due to an apparent right leg injury, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

After he was visited on the mound by a trainer, Lopez was able to walk off the field under his own power. Lopez was pitching well before exiting, allowing just one unearned run on three hits and one walk while striking out six over 4.2 innings. The Twins will likely provide an update on his status after the game.

The Astros recalled Sousa from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday.

Sousa won't be available for Tuesday's game against Seattle, but he's in line to join Houston's bullpen to replace Rafael Montero, who was traded to Atlanta. Sousa missed all of last season due to thoracic outlet surgery but has looked good in four Triple-A outings this season, allowing two hits and no walks while striking out five batters across five shutout frames.

Mountcastle isn't in the lineup Tuesday against Arizona.

Mountcastle will get a chance to catch his breath Tuesday after going 6-for-12 with two RBI and three runs scored across his last three games. Ryan O'Hearn will fill in as the Orioles' first baseman while Adley Rutschman serves as the DH, giving Gary Sanchez a start behind the plate.

The Twins transferred Lee's (back) rehab assignment to Triple-A St. Paul, and he's starting at second base and batting second in Tuesday's game, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

The 24-year-old will move his rehab assignment to the highest level of the minors after going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts in his one appearance with Single-A Fort Myers. Lee played seven innings defensively in that game and will likely need to play a few full games in the field before being cleared to join the Twins.

Valdez (illness) is starting Tuesday's game against the Mariners, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

The left-hander was dealing with some fatigue and a sore throat over the weekend, but he's ready to take his regular turn through the rotation Tuesday. Valdez delivered seven scoreless frames in his season debut but surrendered five runs over five innings during his most recent start last Wednesday.

Hendriks (elbow) will likely begin a rehab assignment during the weekend, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Hendriks began throwing bullpen sessions last weekend and will presumably progress to facing hitters during the week. If he's able to get through that without any issues, the Red Sox will send him out to one of their minor-league affiliates for a few rehab outings and could have him back in their bullpen before the end of the month.

High-A West Michigan placed McGonigle (ankle) on its 7-day injured list Tuesday.

McGonigle suffered an ankle injury in his season debut Friday and will miss some time as a result. The infielder missed extended action to close out the 2024 season while recovering from a broken hand.

Thomas was diagnosed with a right wrist contusion after making an early exit from Tuesday's game against the White Sox, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Thomas took an 88.5-mph changeup off his wrist in the fifth inning of Tuesday's contest, but it seems he escaped the incident with nothing more than a bruise. The Guardians may give him a day off Wednesday if he has any lingering soreness, but he shouldn't require an extended absence.

The Astros placed Arrighetti on the 15-day injured list Tuesday with a fractured right thumb, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Arrighetti was struck by a line drive while playing catch in the outfield before Monday's game in Seattle, and the freak accident will likely result in the 25-year-old spending at least a month or two on the IL. Luis Contreras will take the open spot on the roster to provide Houston with some extra bullpen depth, though the Astros haven't yet determined who will fill the open spot in their rotation.

The Astros recalled Contreras from Triple-A Sugar Land on Tuesday, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Just 24 hours after being optioned to Triple-A, Contreras will return to Houston to act as the roster replacement for Spencer Arrighetti, who was sent to the IL on Tuesday with a broken thumb. Contreras has given up 11 earned runs in just 11.1 career regular-season innings in the majors, so he'll almost certainly be limited to low-leverage situations for now.
