Sandlin earned his first save of the 2025 season in Wednesday's 2-1 extra-innings win against the Red Sox, striking out one batter in a scoreless 11th frame.

Sandlin got the call for the save opportunity in the bottom of the 11th inning after Jeff Hoffman tossed two scoreless frames. Sandlin was able to get the job done in just nine pitches (seven strikes) to earn his first save of 2025 and second in his major-league career. Across his first five outings of the season, Sandlin has given up one run on two hits and four walks while striking out six in five frames.

Gausman did not factor into the decision in Wednesday's win over the Red Sox. He allowed one unearned run on four hits while striking out 10 across eight innings.

The lone run Gausman yielded Wednesday came in the first inning on a sacrifice fly by Alex Bregman, but it was unearned due to a fielding error that saw Jarren Duran advance from second to third base. Holton (1-1) allowed two runs on three hits across 1.2 innings to take the loss Wednesday against the Yankees. He struck out two.

Holton relieved Jack Flaherty, who blanked New York across 5.1 innings, and the former allowed a two-run home run to Ben Rice that broke a 0-0 tie. Despite the hiccup, Holton has been dependable for the Tigers so far, as this was his first time allowing a run through five appearances. The lefty now has a 2.84 ERA, 0.95 WHIP and six strikeouts across 6.1 innings, and he should remain a key reliever in Detroit moving forward.

Clase earned his first save of the season in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the White Sox. He gave up one run on three hits and one walk while striking out two in the ninth inning.

Clase came into the ninth inning Wednesday for his first save opportunity since Opening Day against the Royals, but he put himself in hot water by loading the bases after yielding two singles and a walk. Clase gave up a run on a Miguel Vargas RBI single, but it ended up being the final play of the game after Mike Tauchman came up hobbling while rounding third base and was tagged out by Austin Hedges. It took six outings for Clase to earn his first save of 2025 after registering 47 saves in 2024, which led the American League and ranked second in the majors behind Ryan Helsley (49).

Tauchman injured his right hamstring during Wednesday's game against the Guardians.

Tauchman came up limping after rounding third base in the ninth inning, and he was thrown out at home plate to end the game. The White Sox haven't provided any details on the severity of his injury yet, though the 34-year-old seemed to be in quite a bit of pain immediately after the incident.

McKinstry went 2-for-4 with a triple and two RBI in Wednesday's 4-3 loss to the Yankees.

A day after collecting two hits and his first home run of the season, McKinstry collected two more hits and tallied his second triple of the year. The utility player is now riding a seven-game hitting streak, and he's batting a sizzling .371 overall. McKinstry is only a career .224 hitter, so he's unlikely to sustain these results, but fantasy managers should enjoy the hot streak while it lasts.

Allen came away with the no-decision in Wednesday's win over the White Sox. He gave up one unearned run on four hits and two walks while striking out four across 4.2 innings.

The lone run Allen gave up came in the first inning on an RBI single by Lenyn Sosa, but the southpaw avoided the earned run due to a fielding error earlier in the frame. Allen didn't allow a run for the rest of his outing, but he was unable to complete five innings to factor into the decision. It was a better outing for the 25-year-old than his 2025 debut against the Padres on April 2, when he gave up four earned runs. Allen is in line to face the struggling Orioles on the road next week, when he will look to earn his first win of the season.

Santana went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Wednesday's 3-2 win over the White Sox.

Santana took Sean Burke deep to center field for a 410-foot solo home run, which turned out to be the deciding run in Wednesday's game. Santana is off to a good start in 2025, and over his last eight outings he's gone 10-for-30 with three walks, four runs, two home runs and three RBI.

Burke (1-2) took the loss against the Guardians on Wednesday. He allowed three runs on three hits and four walks while striking out four across three innings.

Burke gave up two runs in the first inning, one of which was the result of a wild pitch, and he allowed a third run on a Carlos Santana solo homer in the third frame. Burke opened the 2025 season strongly with six shutout innings on Opening Day, but over his last two starts he has surrendered nine runs on 10 hits and four walks over 7.1 innings. The 25-year-old right-hander will look to get back in the win column in his next start, which is slated for next week at home against the Athletics.

Moncada was pulled from Wednesday's game against Tampa Bay due to right thumb soreness, Jeff Fletcher of The Orange County Register reports.

Moncada began having issues with his thumb toward the end of spring training. He's already aggravated it once since the regular season began, leaving Friday's contest early before missing the next three games, and he couldn't make it through his first game back in the lineup without experiencing another flare-up. The Angels may consider sending the 29-year-old to the injured list to give his thumb the time it needs to properly heal, though the team's plans are currently unknown.
