Manzardo is absent from the lineup for Thursday's game in Baltimore.

Manzardo is just 1-for-14 at the dish over his last five games, so he'll get a day off to regroup. Jose Ramirez is handling designated-hitter duties for the Guardians on Thursday, while Gabriel Arias plays third base and Daniel Schneemann covers second.

Renfroe is not in the lineup for Thursday's tilt in Detroit.

Renfroe has now started only three of the last nine games against right-handed pitching and hasn't started consecutive contests over that span. Cavan Biggio will patrol right field and hit seventh for Kansas City.

Melendez is not in the lineup for Thursday's game in Detroit.

Right-hander Reese Olson is on the bump for the Tigers, but the lefty-hitting Melendez will grab a seat. Drew Waters will start in left field and bat eighth for the Royals.

Morel isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Morel will get a chance to catch his breath Thursday after making 10 consecutive starts, during which he slashed .289/.341/.447 over 41 plate appearances. His absence will give Richie Palacios (finger) a chance to make his season debut in left field after spending the first several weeks of the season on the injured list.

Jansen isn't in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Yankees, Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times reports.

Jansen will grab a seat on the bench in Thursday's series opener after going just 1-for-11 over his last four games. Ben Rortvedt will catch for Taj Bradley as a result and bat eighth.

Lewis (hamstring) will do some light baserunning Thursday, Aaron Gleeman of The Athletic reports.

While he won't be running full-bore, this appears to be the first time Lewis has run the bases since he suffered a strained left hamstring in mid-March. Lewis has also taken on-field batting practice and gone through defensive drills this week, so he is making clear progress. That said, it's uncertain when he will be ready for a rehab assignment, so a target for his return to the Twins' lineup remains up in the air.

Lopez (hamstring) will make a rehab start with Triple-A St. Paul on Saturday, Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune reports.

Lopez got through a 31-pitch bullpen session Wednesday without any issues with his right hamstring, clearing the path for him to make a rehab start. It should be the only one he needs before rejoining the Twins' rotation, which can happen as soon as April 24 against the White Sox.

The Twins placed Wallner (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Thursday.

A strained left hamstring forced Wallner to exit Tuesday's contest early, and he'll now be forced to spend at least 10 days on the injured list. The Twins haven't provided any details on the severity of his injury, so it's still unclear if he'll require more than a minimum-length stay. While Wallner is out, DaShawn Keirsey will likely receive the bulk of starts in right field, and Jonah Bride will fill the open roster spot after being acquired from Miami on Wednesday.

Guenther (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Lakeland on Thursday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Guenther has been on the 7-day injured list all season with Triple-A Toledo due to lumbar spine inflammation. He'll eventually move up to Toledo once deemed ready and could help the Tigers' bullpen at some point later this season.

The Blue Jays optioned Schneider to Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday.

Schneider has gotten off to a poor start this season, going just 1-for-15 with eight strikeouts through his first 10 games. The Jays will now send him down to the minors in an effort to help him rediscover his swing, and he will likely be invited back to Toronto once he does so.
