The Twins placed Wallner (hamstring) on the 10-day injured list Thursday.

A strained left hamstring forced Wallner to exit Tuesday's contest early, and he'll now be forced to spend at least 10 days on the injured list. The Twins haven't provided any details on the severity of his injury, so it's still unclear if he'll require more than a minimum-length stay. While Wallner is out, DaShawn Keirsey will likely receive the bulk of starts in right field, and Jonah Bride will fill the open roster spot after being acquired from Miami on Wednesday.

Guenther (back) will begin a rehab assignment with Single-A Lakeland on Thursday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Guenther has been on the 7-day injured list all season with Triple-A Toledo due to lumbar spine inflammation. He'll eventually move up to Toledo once deemed ready and could help the Tigers' bullpen at some point later this season.

The Blue Jays optioned Schneider to Triple-A Buffalo on Thursday.

Schneider has gotten off to a poor start this season, going just 1-for-15 with eight strikeouts through his first 10 games. The Jays will now send him down to the minors in an effort to help him rediscover his swing, and he will likely be invited back to Toronto once he does so.

O'Neill (neck) remains out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Guardians, Rich Dubroff of BaltimoreBaseball.com reports.

O'Neill had to be scratched from Wednesday's lineup due to neck discomfort and he will now miss a second straight start while Ryan O'Hearn mans right field. Consider O'Neill day-to-day.

The Rays reinstated Palacios (finger) from the injured list Thursday.

Palacios landed on the injured list at the start of the season due to a fracture in his right ring finger that he suffered toward the end of spring training. He began a rehab assignment Saturday and played four games between the Rays' Double-A and Triple-A affiliates, during which he went 3-for-14 with an RBI, two runs scored and a stolen base. Now cleared to return to action for the big club, the 27-year-old will replace Coco Montes on the active roster and is likely to spend time in the outfield while Jonny DeLuca (shoulder) and Josh Lowe (oblique) are both out.

The Rays optioned Montes to Triple-A Durham on Thursday, Ryan Bass of FanDuel Sports Network Sun reports.

He's clearing out to make room on the active roster for Richie Palacios (finger), who was activated from the 10-day injured list Thursday. Montes is 2-for-10 at the dish during his brief time with the big club in 2025.

Tonkin (shoulder) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A St. Paul on Friday, Dan Hayes of The Athletic reports.

Tonkin landed on the 15-day injured list before the season with a right shoulder strain, but he's ready to test things out in a game setting. Barring a setback, the veteran reliever will have a shot to rejoin the Twins' bullpen before the end of April.

Maton is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics.

The left-handed-hitting Maton will retreat to the bench while the Athletics send southpaw JP Sears to the hill for the series finale. Though Maton has logged 42 of his 43 plate appearances against opposite-handed pitching, he's batting just .139 with a pair of home runs and a 27.9 percent strikeout rate. The White Sox have been using Maton as their primary option at designated hitter versus righties this season, but his lack of production thus far could inspire manager Will Venable to use a rotation of players at the DH spot.

Thaiss is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Thaiss emerged as the White Sox's No. 1 backstop early on this season, but he'll be on the bench for the second straight day Thursday and now looks poised to move into a backup role with Chicago promoting catching prospect Edgar Quero from Triple-A Charlotte. Even while seeing the bulk of the work behind the plate through Chicago's first 17 games of the season, Thaiss didn't make much of a fantasy impact, batting .241 with few counting statistics (zero home runs, zero steals, three runs, three RBI).

Schuemann will start at third base and bat ninth in Thursday's game against the White Sox.

Schuemann has the ability to play all over the infield and outfield, but with the Athletics having enjoyed generally good health so far this season from their position players, the 27-year-old utility man hasn't been able to pick up meaningful playing time. He'll be starting Thursday for just the third time in the Athletics' first 19 games.
