Andujar is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the White Sox.

Andujar will get his first day off since April 5, breaking a streak of nine consecutive starts. With Andujar on the bench, the Athletics will run out an outfield of Brent Rooker, JJ Bleday and Lawrence Butler from left to right.

Urshela is out of the lineup for Thursday's game against the White Sox.

Urshela will take a seat for the day game after he started at third base in each of the Athletics' previous three contests. Max Schuemann will fill in at the hot corner for Urshela, who is batting .196 with no home runs or stolen bases across 50 plate appearances on the season.

Anthony has been limited to designated-hitter duty at Triple-A Worcester of late due to minor right shoulder soreness, Chris Henrique of Beyond the Monster reports.

Anthony has been used exclusively at DH since April 11 and is set to be the DH again during Worcester's day/night doubleheader Thursday. The shoulder issue has not affected Anthony at the plate, as he's gone 7-for-12 with a 1:3 K:BB in three games at DH. It's not clear when Anthony -- who is slashing .283/.441/.500 with two homers overall this season -- might be ready to play the outfield again.

Langeliers is absent from the lineup for Thursday's contest versus the White Sox.

Langeliers had started each of the previous eight games -- including seven at catcher -- so he'll receive a well-earned day off for Thursday's matinee. Jhonny Pereda is starting at catcher and batting seventh for the Athletics on Thursday.

Meidroth will start at second base and bat leadoff in Thursday's game against the Athletics.

It's the first time Meidroth has batted higher than fifth since he was promoted last week, but it felt like only a matter of time before the White Sox put the 23-year-old and his on-base skills in the leadoff spot. Meidroth is 4-for-14 with a 22.2 percent walk rate in his first five major-league contests.

The White Sox optioned Jones to Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday.

Jones has had two brief stints in the majors this season and hasn't made any starts. He's clearing out to make room for the return of Andrew Benintendi (adductor) from the injured list.

The White Sox designated Narvaez for assignment Thursday.

Narvaez was in the majors for one week but will vacate his roster spot to make room for the arrival of Edgar Quero, who was called up from Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday. He'll likely clear waivers and could stick around in the organization as catching depth.

The White Sox activated Benintendi (adductor) from the 10-day injured list, but he won't be included in the lineup for Thursday's game against the Athletics.

Benintendi skipped a rehab assignment and wound up missing just one more day than the minimum due to a left adductor strain. The veteran outfielder has hit well in the early going this season, slashing .290/.333/.484 with a couple of home runs. Though he's on the bench Thursday, Benintendi should resume his role as Chicago's primary left fielder in this weekend's series in Boston.

The White Sox selected Quero's contract from Triple-A Charlotte on Thursday.

Quero earned the promotion after slashing .333/.444/.412 with one home run over his first 63 plate appearances at Charlotte this season. The 22-year-old will presumably take over as Chicago's primary backstop and could be worthy of a pickup in fantasy leagues that start two catchers. Quero will start behind the dish and bat seventh Thursday against the Athletics in his major-league debut.

The Mariners recalled Hancock from Triple-A Tacoma ahead of his scheduled start Thursday against the Reds in Cincinnati.

Seattle optioned reliever Will Klein to Triple-A to clear room on the 26-man active roster for Hancock, who will begin his second stint of the season with the big club. With George Kirby (shoulder) opening the season on the injured list, Hancock broke camp as the Mariners' No. 5 starter but was sent back to Triple-A after getting lit up for six earned runs while retiring just two batters in his lone start March 31 versus the Tigers. The Mariners then turned to Luis F. Castillo to fill the fifth spot in the rotation, but Seattle will go back to Hancock after Castillo found little success through his two starts before being optioned to Triple-A. Hancock delivered strong results at Tacoma following his demotion, posting a 3.72 ERA, 1.14 WHIP and 12:2 K:BB over 9.2 innings.
