The Red Sox optioned Sogard to Triple-A Worcester on Friday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Sogard was with the Red Sox for just one game while Alex Bregman was on paternity leave and did not get off the bench. He'll return to a utility role at Worcester.

Dobbins was recalled from Triple-A Worcester to start Friday's game against the White Sox, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

The 25-year-old right-hander will get a favorable matchup for his second career MLB start, as Chicago ranks 29th in MLB with just 54 runs scored. Dobbins allowed two runs over five innings in his big-league debut earlier this month and has given up four homers in two appearances with Worcester this year. It'll likely be a spot start for Dobbins since Brayan Bello (shoulder) is expected to come off the injured list next week.

The Red Sox designated Fulmer for assignment Friday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Fulmer was knocked around in his lone appearance with the big club, allowing three runs on four hits and two walks over 2.2 innings. It was the first outing in the majors for the 32-year-old since 2023, as he missed the entire 2024 season while recovering from UCL revision surgery. It's possible there will be interest via trade or waivers in Fulmer, who offers versatility after being stretched out as a starter at Triple-A Worcester.

The Red Sox activated Bregman from the paternity leave list Friday, Chris Cotillo of MassLive.com reports.

Bregman missed just one game as he welcomed a new addition to the family. He will be back in uniform for Boston's weekend series at home against the White Sox.

The Mariners optioned Taylor to Triple-A Tacoma on Friday.

Taylor started the season on the 15-day injured list due to a right lat strain he suffered in spring training. He was activated from the IL on Monday, but in his 2025 debut against the Reds on Wednesday he allowed three runs on three hits while failing to record an out. Taylor could get a call back up to the majors when the Mariners need right-handed depth out of the bullpen. Seattle selected the contract of Casey Lawrence from Tacoma in a corresponding move.

Margot (knee) participated in sprint drills Friday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

Margot was diagnosed with a patellar tendon strain in his left knee last week, which caused him to be placed on the 10-day injured list April 8. He appears to be making progress in his recovery, but he may need a rehab assignment before being activated from the IL. Prior to his injury, Margot went 6-for-20 with one run scored and three RBI.

Meadows (arm) did some light throwing in the outfield Friday, Chris McCosky of The Detroit News reports.

It was very light tossing from a short distance, but it's nonetheless a step forward for the outfielder. Meadows is coming back from a nerve issue in his right arm and will need to rebuild his arm strength. He's already on the 60-day injured list, making him ineligible to return until late May.

The Blue Jays reinstated Lukes from the paternity list Friday.

Lukes missed the Blue Jays' last two games while welcoming the newest addition of his family, and he'll be available to return to the lineup for Friday's series opener against the Mariners. Lukes has started the season slashing .167/.310/.208 with four walks, six runs scored and three RBI in 29 plate appearances.

Young has joined the Orioles' taxi squad and is scheduled to make his major-league debut Saturday against the Reds, Jake Rill of MLB.com reports.

The 26-year-old right-hander has made three starts with Triple-A Norfolk this season, posting a 2.76 ERA and 17:2 K:BB over 16.1 innings. Young collected 132 strikeouts across 111 frames between Double-A Bowie and Norfolk in 2024. Kyle Gibson is due to join the Orioles' rotation around May 1, which could point to an additional start for Young next week if he pitches well Saturday.

Brieske, who allowed a run during an inning of relief in Thursday's 6-1 win over the Royals, has an 8.59 ERA so far this season.

Brieske has now allowed seven earned runs across 7.1 innings in 2025 and has only struck out four. Last year, the righty posted a 3.59 ERA and 69 strikeouts across 67.2 regular-season innings, emerging as one of Detroit's most dependable relievers. Brieske should be able to get back on track eventually, and as yet he hasn't been removed from his high-leverage role in the Tigers bullpen.
