Wilson allowed one earned run on one hit and one walk while striking out one over 1.1 innings to earn a hold Tuesday against the Royals.

Wilson was the first White Sox reliever to appear after Sean Burke was pulled following 6.1 innings of work. Wilson entered the game with runners on first and second base and managed to escape the jam, but he then allowed a two-out rally before being pulled with two outs in the eighth inning. He has seemingly settled into a key setup role in the Chicago bullpen but has not gotten save chances.

Jones will start in right field and bat eighth in Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

After being withheld from the lineup in matchups against right-handed pitching last Thursday and Friday, the left-handed-hitting Jones looked as though he might have moved behind Jhonkensy Noel on the depth chart in right field. However, the playing time has since tilted back in Jones' favor, with the 27-year-old now getting his fifth start in as many games Wednesday. Jones is still holding down a weak .596 OPS for the season, so he'll likely need to start raking to build up some job security.

Noel is out of the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

After making three straight starts last week, Noel appeared to be encroaching on Nolan Jones' role as the Guardians' top right fielder, but Noel looks like he'll remain in the short side of a platoon for now. Noel finds himself on the bench Wednesday for the fourth game in a row, with the Guardians having faced right-handed starting pitchers in each of those contests.

Manzardo is not in the lineup for Wednesday's game against the Nationals, Tim Stebbins of MLB.com reports.

Manzardo sat out the second game of Tuesday's doubleheader and will now rest in Wednesday's series finale. Steven Kwan is in the designated hitter spot, while Daniel Schneemann is playing left field for the Guardians.

Rays manager Kevin Cash said Wednesday that Mangum (groin) will be evaluated the week of May 19 and could head out on a rehab assignment soon thereafter, MLB.com reports.

Mangum has been sidelined since April 24 due to a left groin strain, and he doesn't seem to have made much noteworthy progress in his recovery in the ensuing two weeks. The rookie outfielder doesn't look like he'll be a realistic candidate to return from the injured list until late May in a best-case scenario.

Faedo (shoulder) has been shut down from throwing due to neck and shoulder tightness, MLB.com reports.

Faedo was scheduled to throw live batting practice Tuesday to begin a spring-training-type buildup. It's unclear when he'll be able to begin throwing again.

Story batted sixth and went 0-for-4 with three strikeouts in Tuesday's 6-1 loss to the Rangers.

Story had mostly batted fifth this season and had a stretch as the cleanup hitter, but the shortstop has had a rough go of it of late. After Tuesday's 0-fer, he's hitting .120 (6-for-50) with a .305 OPS, one RBI and 19 strikeouts (35.2 strikeout percentage) over the last 12 contests. Prior to that, Story had an 18-game stretch during which he posted a .378 average and 1.011 OPS.

Rays manager Kevin Cash said Wednesday that McClanahan (triceps) is playing catch from 60 feet, MLB.com reports.

McClanahan resumed simuated throwing in late April and continues to ramp up slowly. He also underwent imaging recently, which came back clean. McClanahan's progress is positive, but he remains without a clear timeline to make his 2025 debut.

Campbell batted cleanup for a second straight game and went 1-for-4 with an RBI in Tuesday's 6-1 loss to Texas.

Campbell produced Boston's lone run, singling home Alex Bregman, who had doubled ahead of him in the order. Red Sox manager Alex Cora has adjusted the order the last week, dropping a slumping Trevor Story from cleanup to fifth, and then to sixth Tuesday. Wilyer Abreu, who took over cleanup for a stretch of games, was moved to fifth in the lineup.

Toro started at first base and went 1-for-3 in Tuesday's 6-1 loss to the Rangers.

It was mostly a good night for Toro, who made his first start since having his contract selected from Triple-A Worcester last Saturday. He was involved in an unassisted double play early and later roped an opposite-field single off the Green Monster, though he was thrown out trying to stretch it into a double. Romy Gonzalez had started the two previous games at first base in place of the injured Triston Casas (knee) before Toro got his shot Tuesday. For now, there are no plans to move Rafael Devers from DH to first base, so it looks like manager Alex Cora will make do with a Toro/Gonzalez rotation.
