Higashioka (ribs) will begin a rehab assignment with Triple-A Round Rock on Saturday.

Higashioka has been sidelined since May 1 due to an intercostal strain. He won't return after the minimum 10 days as originally anticipated, but he should be back with the Rangers after a few games in the minors.

Rodgers is not in Saturday's lineup against the Reds.

Wesneski underwent an MRI on Saturday that showed inflammation in his elbow, Matt Kawahara of the Houston Chronicle reports.

Wesneski was placed on the injured list Friday due to the inflammation, but the team is waiting for the swelling to subside to make an official diagnosis. Manager Joe Espada said he expects it will be a few more days before that occurs, so the right-hander remains without a clear return timeline.

Alvarez (hand) is feeling better Saturday but has not resumed swinging a bat, Chandler Rome of The Athletic reports.

Alvarez has been on the injured list since May 5 due to a muscle strain in his hand. He's eligible to return Tuesday, though this update suggests that he'll almost certainly be sidelined beyond the 10-day minimum.

Vargas is not in Saturday's lineup against the Marlins, Vinnie Duber of AllCHGO.com reports.

Vargas has been a mainstay in the White Sox's order, as this marks his first day off since April 22. He's split work between first and third base, though the addition of Tim Elko has the potential to disrupt Vargas' position in the lineup. Per Jack Ankony of SI.com, the White Sox plan to mix and match Elko, Vargas and Andrew Vaughn between designated hitter and first base.

Robert is out of Saturday's lineup against the Marlins due to right knee soreness, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports.

The issue doesn't appear to be serious, as manager Will Venable expects Robert to be available off the bench. Robert has started to pick up his performance of late, hitting .245 with three home runs and eight stolen bases across his last 15 games. Michael Taylor is taking over in center field while hitting ninth for Saturday's contest.

Lee was recalled from Triple-A Toledo on Saturday, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Lee made his big-league debut April 22 and allowed only one earned run across 6.1 innings before being optioned to Toledo on Thursday. He'll quickly return to the majors to provide some extra depth in Detroit's bullpen after Casey Mize (hamstring) landed on the injured list.

Mize was placed on the injured list Saturday due to a left hamstring strain, Evan Woodbery of MLive.com reports.

Mize will hit the shelf just two days after a dominant outing against the Rockies in which he allowed one earned run while striking out eight across six innings. According to Cody Stavenhagen of The Athletic, Mize felt a sensation in his left hamstring late in the outing that was originally attributed to dehydration, but follow-up tests revealed what the Tigers are calling a "mild" strain. The Tigers haven't announced an immediate replacement in the rotation for Mize, though Keider Montero will likely be called up from Triple-A Toledo to replace him when a fifth starter is needed.
